    On track for 57-25

The third quarter effort was there, 4th quarter defense was not. Sidy looking good glad he got some run.

    Go Spurs Go!

  2. Prize_Possession3899

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

    **Pros**

    * Good to see Wemby back doing Wemby things even though he was under a minutes restriction
    * Vassell bounces back with a better game overall on both ends
    * Sochan being more decisive with his moves, leading to better opportunities for either himself or the rest of the team as a result; 3pt shot also looks better with a quicker release
    * KJ with a really solid game off the bench with a monster poster on Kessler in the process
    * Champagnie making the most of his minutes, helping space the floor along with some good defensive sequences
    * Tre with steady production as usual
    * Wesley with solid limited minutes off the bench, looking stronger at the rim. Looking forward to further improvement from him

    **Cons**

    * Defense overall + guys still going for pump fakes way too often
    * Foul shooting
    * Off night from Branham and Osman
    * 4th quarter: offense stalled, mental lapses defensively, Markkanen drilling 3’s seemingly with the accuracy of a HIMARS launcher

    **Overall**

Guys were really making an effort to get the ball to Wemby. Offense looks better when trying to play through the big at the foul line. Hung in there for most of the game, but things seemed to really get away in the fourth during a stretch with no bigs when Wemby and Collins were both out.

    **Looking Forward**

Another opportunity to build on the positive developments from the past few games in a short road trip for a back to back against Portland. Not sure if Sharpe and Ayton will be playing or not.

    **GSG**

I know people will still bitch and complain like they’ve been doing all year, but I didn’t hate what I saw out there today. Some of the line ups we roll out there are just obviously out matched which comes with being a young team right off of a tank year. I really l ike what I saw from Keldon and Jermey on the offensive side of the ball. GSG!

  4. VeniceRapture

We’re gonna need to lineup the next 2 extensions for these players cause it’s gonna take that amount of time to develop them into quality role players

  5. In light of Detroit’s historic loss, I’d like to thank Anthony Davis from the bottom of my heart for sitting that one game out.

  6. Numerous_Transition

Man, I just feel so bad for Wemby. He came into this season thinking he’d get a good coach and competent franchise and he got whatever this has been for the past 30 games.

  7. Relevant-Ad-6572

Maliki leading the team in +/- is too good lmao

  8. spurs777_

The team performed fairly well, taking better care of the basketball and hitting shots. However, our help defence leaves players open on the perimeter and it’s killing us. Lauri had like 5 wide open 3’s

  9. dingleDangas

Can we start a petition to add like 5 more seconds to the post game player/coach interactions?

  10. Inner_Emu4716

Defense was atrocious. Wemby didn’t look like himself but I’m not worried. Sochan with back to back good games! He looked a lot more confident, hoping he can keep it up. Ball movement was better and keldon off the bench looked good.

  11. oftentroller

Nobody asked, but DIFF/GP -12.3, is the 3rd worst point differential by a team in history

  12. Wemby with a bad offensive game but a more than decent defensive performance. Overall the team effort was good, could’ve been great if it wasn’t for the turd quarter and the fact that defending the 3 is still seemingly an impossible task.

  13. If you support tanking and enjoy Spurs basketball, you actually don’t enjoy Spurs basketball.

This entire organization is in shambles.

Pop needs to retire and the team needs to be sold to an owner who has an actual interest in basketball.

  14. BrightenedCorner

After all the excitement of drafting wemby, this season has been an absolute abomination and total misery. Couldn’t have played out any worse sans injury. Jesus Christ.

  15. fifa20noob

That starting lineup was interesting, shame we didn’t see more of it during the game.

  16. The defense is so bad at guarding the 3. They’ve been over helping all season. It’s got to be something Pop and the coaching staff can do

  17. That first quarter was fun. I thought Devin’s defense has improved, Sochan’s decision making has improved and his 3 point shooting is great right now. I feel like Wemby needs a stronger body if he wants to play center, gets pushed around and gassed pretty quickly but he’ll get there no doubt. I feel like Wemby as a passer in the future, from the elbow, could be potentially really potent.

Fun game 🙂 Our team defense is awful 🙁

  18. Awkward_Toe_5501

Everyone is sad for Detroit’s record when we are literally 2 games ahead.

  19. thedam100

Yeah I love the improvement of the line up. Keldon makes sense at the bench. He can bully second line ups. Champagnie’s shooting made a huge difference with the spacing on the floor. But the name of the game was that perimeter defense. Branham, Cedi and Doug just between them alone gave up 7 threes on missed defensive assignments from overhelping or getting caught up on screens. 21 points given up between the three of them. Branham thankfully was pulled because that was unfortunately his worst game of the season. Wemby looked gassed tonight. You can tell it really affected his shot. That and a minute restriction made it rough with his shots and missed defensive assignments on Lauri. Crazy how he still got 5 blocks so causally though. Sochan played amazing basketball today. Keldon did incredible off the bench. I look forward to see what we will do in the future in this line up. a pleasant surprise was Wesley gave great energy in his time. Could be a great piece as he develops. Overall despite the score you can really see the improvement in this game

  20. android24601

Tough loss, but I feel good about this lineup. From Pops press conference, while he didn’t say it, I’m reading that the comments about the lineup changing again due to lack of consistency may have been directed at Branham, and rightfully so. Branham saw 17 minutes of action and didn’t register a FG. Maybe Wesley will get more opportunities from this

  21. cartman_returns

How did we beat LA ?

If it was not for that win the press would go crazy over out jab meet-up with Detroit

I am a fan back to the 70s, I am patient with this group and want the best but we have so much we. need to add before Wembys contract is up

  22. The only team worse than us, are the record breaking Detroit Pistons.

    Downvote that.

  23. daussie04

without pistons this would be the main talking point of the nba

  24. cartman_returns

As bad as pistons are, our point diff is worst then theirs and worst in league

Back in the old days when we were bad we at least kept it close,

  25. I get that its a development year. Losing is fine, but we are actually regressing and it feels like the team is starting to put no effort in even trying to make the game atleast competitive.
