Uh we we didn’t obviously we didn’t do a good job defensively uh that’s been our Achilles heel uh for a while now and you know to give up 130 points on 50% from the field and allow the Ben especially to get going the way they did uh Bode for for a

Long night um you know you you you add that with uh us going three for 27 from the field uh from from the three-point line if you take foxy out of the equation um that’s not good um so um you know Portland earned to win tonight we obviously didn’t show up especially on

The defensive end of the floor and you got to tip your head off to him Mike are you see some themes in the games that you guys lose is it the defense or is it shooting or a lot of times our defense you know we’re

Not um you know we’re not where we need to be defensively on a consistent basis we’ve shown uh We’ve shown flashes of it and you know as a group we uh we want to outscore our opponent and um we don’t do a good job of just sitting down and

Trying to uh generate consecutive stops and a row especially when they when when the game gets a little little tough um you know we we turn into track meet and we thought that we’d be able to beat him uh on the scoreboard only and and and not we weren’t focused really on trying

To slow them down and they never felt this the entire night and uh you know we had opportunities because we could score and we didn’t even play well offensively we still scored 113 points on 48 49% from the field which is which is enough to win but it’s tough when you uh when

You uh don’t defend or when you defend the way we did tonight how key is it to make them feel you early because it seems like teams are getting confidence and then it’s hard to turn them off no for sure it’s it’s and that’s what this League’s about because there’s a lot of

Talent uh and the separation between the Talent is not much uh and if a team uh gets going or feels confident uh especially at home it could be tough at times to turn that faucet off how do you ride the wave of a season because as fans and media you know we’re like

Reacting to everything how do you no and that’s that’s understandable um but we we have to keep uh understanding that it’s a process we got to go back we got to watch the film we got to see what we did wrong uh as a group and then after

We see what we did wrong we got to go out we got to uh practice we got to drill it we got to see if we can get better but the thing that that that worries me is you know some of the stuff that we drill that we’ve been drilling

Since training camp the simple stuff like coming over and helping our teammate when he gets beat um uh we’re at times not doing and that’s worrisome giving up middle drives really really easy that’s worrisome you know we we label guys hot and not hot and we if

You’re not hot we don’t run you off the three-point line and we ran four or five guys off the three-point line that we shouldn’t have and you know they’re getting to the rim and they you know that’s part but they have they don’t H really have a postup threat but they

Still scored 60 points in the paint you know it’s understandable for us to score 60 because you got D mus down there but with no post up threat in the paint that means that their dribble drive game obviously maybe some sometimes in transition too but their dribble drive

Game is at a high level and uh we didn’t do a good job of differentiating between who’s hot and who’s not on our close outs and so some of those basic things that we gave up tonight defensively are are what’s worrisome you know I I believe that we’ll obviously fix them

And do better but uh you know for us to come out and play the way we did on that end of the floor uh is not good you know last year we had some tough losses at home to teams that were below you in standings any concern that you know what

Come April we we look back at you know these kind of games you know in terms of some of the things you’re talking about it that it might bite you in standings at all oh for sure for sure you know any of these games can bite you in standings

You know you want to try to win games it’s the tough part about it is everybody below us we’re not going to go 4 and0 in our conference against um you know you hope you you have a a winning advantage and you hope if you lose one

It’s a one off and you’re able to lock down and get the the next two you know so you have a winning record against teams that are below you but uh um you know when a game’s right in front of you and it’s it’s for the taking and you

Don’t go get it it’s really disappointing and it hurts and any of these games can come back and bite you in behind lastly can you just talk about fox and sabonis tonight and what you got from them we you know at the end of the day we got scoring but just like

Everybody else uh they as well as the rest of the group didn’t do a good job defending and you know I I I I know foxy can score I know sabonis can score especially when they have the young bigs that they have out there uh it’s about

Can we generate some stops as a group can we take care of the ball as a group you know can we not send them to the free throw line as a group and you know all those things we did a better job in the second half of of of not sending

Them to the free throw line but you know still 18 points off our 12 turnovers and then the way we defended was not was not good thank you oh
