Certainly a frustrating game, this is what we want to create the 4v3s but tonight the shots just didn’t fall. They’ve been doing pretty well without him, but hopefully Kyrie is close to back. Tonight was the unfortunate gelling of the other team successfully throwing off Luka’s rhythm and the role players failing to punish them. Far less likely for this scenario to happen when we have our other playmaker back.

Lively looked like a deer in headlights. I’m guessing he was in because the plan was to get up a shot early and he’d be inside to tap a rebound out. Spacing was bad but it seems the others were just waiting for Luka to shoot. At that point Luka gets trapped, Lively has to go set an off ball screen on Curry’s man. It’s baffling that this team hasn’t established easy counters for teams doubling Luka

Lively should have set a screen for someone instead of standing under the basket doing nothing. But also Kidd should not have put him in the game for this play, he was needed much earlier on in the quarter when we were getting killed.
