Monty genuinely sucks, but I’m also like 90% convinced a lot of the moronic shit he’s doing is purposeful in an attempt to get fired so that he can get outta Detroit but still get paid. He never wanted to be there and only took the job because they threw a historically big bag at him (by coach standards).

Seems like Monty just didn’t want to coach this season but he couldn’t refuse the offer the Pistons gave him. He’s been a good coach before and I think he’ll figure it out once the culture gets better in Detroit but a lot of that is on him to figure out.

Monty historically had been a good to great coach – Detroit’s front office is obviously tanking. He’s just doing what he’s told to do and being paid handsomely to do it.
