Paolo Banchero on Magic locker room after beating NYK: ‘Every day is an adventure’ 🤣 | NBA on ESPN

He is Paulo banero he was terrific here tonight P congrats on the victory how did it looked like a physical game it felt like a playoff atmosphere kind of take us through that uh your sense of what it was like out there tonight yeah it definitely was uh a very

You know intense atmosphere um to Eastern Conference teams that are you know just fighting for position right now um and you know they had a lot of fans in the building that were that were loud and making noise so you know we felt we felt that and we had to you know

Show up we knew they was going to put up a fight all four quarters hey Pao were y’all aware that this was the uh the largest crowd in Magic history man did tonight out here with this with this hostile environment half like half New York fans but but we

Had our people in here too could y’all feel that that this was the largest crowd in history yeah I’m not surprised uh you could you could feel it for sure you know stepping up to the free throw line uh it was getting pretty loud I was a

Little surprised but um you know that’s just uh you know Testament to where we’re at you know bringing out you know sellout crowds uh and just getting better and better so uh that’s awesome and it was a great environment you know hopefully we can get more well I like

The the the physicality of the game but I just want to give you guys uh Kudos whatever you want to call it cuz it irks me it gets under my skin when these New York fans come in here I’m glad you sent them those guys home for with a early New Year’s loss

So hats off to you guys and New York go home yes sir Paulo how about your performance down the stretch I mean you said it’s kind of my job to get Buckets and you do that at the end of the game things got tight things got close you’re

Now one of the hunted teams here in the Eastern Conference this is a Knicks team that wanted to catch you in the standings so I know that feels different at the end of the games and and what were you able to do tonight to help close this one

Out uh just just stay poised um you know France did a great job in that third or in the early fourth quarter um getting some buckets to you know keep them at distance and then when I came in I just wanted to you know add and and close the

Game out you know me France uh jayen Suggs you know the rest of the guys you know we trying to play with poys and in order to be a great team you got to be able to close out other great teams so you know that’s what we tried to

Do tell me about fron tell me about your running mate Pao you guys work so well together what is it that you guys see and the and the Poise that you two have down the scen yeah FR is a big time player you know he he don’t shy away from those moments me

And him tell each other all the time you know this is our time this is what we do you know we’re constantly in communication with one another throughout the game and then you know in those late game situations fourth quarter you know we’re always on the

Same page you know we had the uh two-man game going right there where we had uh just you know playing that stepup screen action you know trying to get the switch and the matchup that we like and uh then then you make make the right read from

There um we both know that you know whether it’s a bucket or a pass you know we’re going to make the right play so I got 100 100% trust in him and he has the same in me well I I like the growth you just you just talked about it you know

Getting the mismatches that’s what uh good players do are down the stretch you find the mismatches and you take advantage of it if the defense collaps somebody’s open so uh I I enjoy watching that type of basketball yeah I want to just know how how much fun are you guys having we saw

A dance at the end you getting hype man but you guys got a relatively young group of guys man y’all doing something y’all got y’all building something here y’all got a winning record and um coach mosy he’s a young coach he seems to translate with you guys like talk about

How much fun this group is having together yeah man every day with these guys is is an adventure uh you know on the plane in the locker room you know Cole showed up this morning with his damn haircut everybody was like what the hell so you know every every day is

Something new man and I just couldn’t you know ask to be around a better group and I’m sure everyone else could say the same you know we have so much fun competing with each other um and just spending every day together so it’s a special team and you know we’re just

Going to keep building and you know keep grinding through this season you know it doesn’t really get any easier we got to go to the West Coast and play some more great teams so got to stay locked in well I I I I have to say this that that

That little dance you know that was that back in my day like you you hit it you hit it PA we watch q and I watched one half of your first game and Q looks at me goes we got a dude it took one half or one game so

Great job here tonight I know You’ enjoyed this one let’s keep it going here out on the west coast good job yes sir appreciate you guys all right [Applause] [Applause] fantastic
