[Justin (RIPKOBE)] Funny thing is, they put up 122 with Steph and Klay shooting badly (mostly because they generate open layups and threes for everyone else). They lost bc they gave up 132 points lol

Exactly why/how our losing this game came down to defense, and a failure at the POA in particular, along with mindlessly dumb fouls at the end led to this loss, not anyone missing shots.

At this point of the season, I can say confidently that Defense is a huge problem.

Justin is one of the only people on Twitter who actually knows ball. Defense has been our main issue every single game this season & it also has impact on our offense. We need Draymond badly and at this point even he might not be enough.

  3. Were you expecting a defensive masterclass when Kerr started 3 old guards? I’m pretty sure Luka saw a buffet and was ready to eat when the line up got announced.

Also, they got JK (starting PF) guarding the opposing PG which means everyone else has to guard up a spot. Now they’re positionally small in 3 positions and that’s compromising the defense. Why wasn’t Wiggs guarding Luka at POA instead of JK when they were on the floor together?

If Steve Kerr can’t come up with a game plan to stop a team from scoring 132 points then he’s not doing his job. I don’t care what anyone says, the team has enough pieces to do well. Tonight was so clearly a strategy flaw on defense, not an execution flaw.

Unfortunately we are legally obligated to play a smurf lineup at all times, can’t be fixed.

Thanks again, Draymond, for managing to be unavailable for 14 games and counting this season, missed from suspensions (which doesn’t include the 2 games he got 86’d from early).

It sucks how much time is being spent on this thread for fake trades and hopium and whatnot and at the end of the day, the season still rides on if Draymond can manage to not swing on a guy for a couple weeks.

*laughs in why didn’t moody come in for perimeter defense*

Blaming Kerr is ridiculous. We don’t have the defenders to HAVE a good defense. Most of this team can’t stay in front of anybody. can’t fight over screens. slow on rotations. etc etc. We have almost a decade of tape that shows Kerr’s coaching staff can figure out defense…. when they have personnel that can actually defend. People have been begging TJD to start because that would help our defense so much. he starts and guess what? our defense still sucks. swap chris paul for wiggins and i bet our defense would still suck. Draymond would definitely help, but I don’t think he’s the solution.

Our defense has never been the same since we lost Mike Brown. Draymond is a band-aid but the problem has been festering and now it’s out of control. If our entire defense rests on him telling everyone on the court what to do it’s just not sustainable.

  10. Near shortest team in the NBA is bad at defense, more news at 11.

If the Dubs want defense I suggest starting with trading for a couple of guys over 6’10”; TJD can’t do it alone.

The issue is that our best defender is also one of our worst offensive player lol (and he is suspended also)
