Bulls Epic Comeback Ends in a Let Down vs Pacers

Bulls Epic Comeback Ends in a Let Down vs Pacers

An epic comeback arguably one of the most epic comebacks we’ve been able to witness from the Bulls anyway on the positive side but an epic comeback all but to be let down with some poor execution down the stretch and also the fact that the Pacers were finally able

To get things going offensively and knocking down shots after they went on that huge scoring drought or field goal drought I should say between midway through the third quarter all the way to the 99-minute mark of the fourth where the Bulls Trail by 25 points in the

Third when it seemed like nothing was going well for the Bulls shots weren’t falling the offense was flat stagnant turning the ball over and the Pacers were making everything they were throwing up so then the Bulls flipping the script getting sto after stop playing Scrappy defense bringing the

Energy level back up getting the crowd back into it pushing the pace on offense and finally seeing shots go down to turn that 25-point lead into a three-point lead for themselves and in a game where you thought there is no way the Bulls are coming back from this to them well

There is no way the Bulls are going to blow this after having all that momentum on their side and of course the Pacers responded they went on that 90 run themselves hitting their threes again and they never looked back I will say though and I’ve been refraining from

Saying anything negative about Billy Dom recently just because he’s been having the Bulls offense run so much better in these last 13 games or so and you do have to give Billy a lot of credit for that however I don’t know why he waited so long to take a timeout when the

Pacers started lighting the Bulls up from three just to even stop the pace and momentum and I get it because the Bulls only had two timeouts left and there were still 3 minutes left to go in the game but at that point the Bulls were still in this one a very winnable

Game that took so much effort to get back into and I’m not going to say his decision to not call a timeout cost the Bulls this game because the Pacers were just feeling it by that point and likely weren’t giving up this one but resetting giving the guys a bit of a breather

Changing up the lineup on the floor might have been in order but either way it wasn’t meant to be and the Bulls fall in a game that would have been a huge one to pick up in the standings against a recently struggling Pacers team who have been right next to them in the

Eastern conf conference but here’s the thing the positives that I’m taking away from this game and apologies because I’m likely going to make this video a little short but the biggest positive from this one despite the bit of a meltdown and letting the Pacers just clean them up at

The end of the game the fact that the Bulls didn’t give up on this one when they were down 25 points in the third quarter something the old Bulls absolutely would have done the fact that they responded well to adversity yet again the fact that you saw guys like

Patrick Williams dalen Terry I would assum who keep up the intensity and energy even when they were down by 20 to give the team some life and get them back into this game says so much about this team and their mentality their determination and just their overall

Identity and I know I’ve said all this before but the fact that we’ve been seeing it consistently since LaVine has been out of the lineup says so much about this team now the Bulls shouldn’t have allowed themselves to get down by 25 in the first place like let’s not

Absolve them of any blame here their play at the end of the second quarter and halfway through the third was not good at all the defense was average at best and the Pacers were getting whatever they wanted both inside and from behind the ark I’ll get to Andre

Drummond in a bit but a game like tonight is kind of case in point on what I talked about in the last game as great as Drummond was and has been I still question him whether or not he can perform like this on a nightly basis and

Be a starter like so many people were talking about and advocating that Andre Drummond needs to be in the starting line up for the Bulls get V out of here Drummond is much more effective yeah it’s hard to see Drummond performing like that every night and the big reason

Is because of his ability to get silly fouls and find himself on the bench because he’s in foul trouble never mind I guess I’ll just go ahead and start talking about drumman now because him getting in foul trouble not finishing shots like we saw the other night only

Enabled him to play 21 minutes in a game where he’s effectively the Bulls only Center and he also played very poor defense on Miles Turner Miles Turner got whatever he wanted in the beginning of that game because Drummond was not closing out and letting him get wide

Open looks anyway he still managed to get 16 rebounds in just those 21 minutes but the Bulls had to go small tonight and it hurt them when it came to going up against Miles Turner and Jaylen Smith who were just out working the Bulls on

The boards but anyway I guess I got a little Sidetrack from the positives there the other positives on the night aside from the resiliency and getting themselves back into this game dalen Terry look D Terry is case and point wi sometimes you just need to let these guys play give them meaningful minutes

Where they can learn from and develop because Terry oddly enough was one of the most impactful players in this game and a huge spark in that comeback in the third quarter get this he was a plus 28 on the night the only player in the entire lineup that was a plus in box

Plus minus and he was plus 28 and he did with heart hustle on both ends of the floor with some great defensive plays like you look at his stat line you think all right nothing that impressive here six points three rebounds three blocks but it was the energy and the pace at

Which he was playing and a big reason for why the Bulls were getting so many defensive stops during that stretch Billy dunan had to bring him back in the fourth quarter because the Pacers started taking over after he took him out just to see if they can get some run

Back into the game and so when we hear about the future of the bulls not being bright or them having one of the bleakest futures in the NBA well games like tonight showing some signs of the younger guys and their future potential gives me some hope at least and then the

Other positive I mean Patrick Williams 22 points nine for 14 shooting five rebounds two steals play with purpose with authority and command in the paint seeing Pat develop into a solid starter as yet another reason and positive to look forward to for the future for the Bulls because while he’s still been

Inconsistent and yeah at times still passive when given the opportunity when other guys are out he’s shown he has the potential and the ability that we’ve all been hoping for dear was dear you know struggled a bit with his shot at times but was feeling it in the first quarter

Him getting the free throw line also helped in that comeback to stop the clock and get some easy points for the Bulls and then Kobe white you know I really hope we’re not seeing the typical regression or inconsistent play from someone like Kobe W I’m going to say it

Has more to do with how defenses are playing him now like teams are forced to pay more attention to him and you see that with the double teams and guys hounding him on the perimeter more than they ever have before and it’s why you see his shots not falling as much

They’re forcing Kobe to drive instead of shooting it which Kobe is still good in his ability to get to the hoop and finish but because he’s smaller he’s more vulnerable to getting rejected at The Rim or forced off the dribble in a more difficult shot and for Kobe white

16 points 5 for 19 shooting two for six from three only two assist a minus 24 brutal game for Kobe white although it was nice to finally see him knocked down a couple threes the first one that he made was a big one because it finally

Put the Bulls back in the lead and the United Center was lit when that happen oh and I almost forgot about IO dumu because IO has continued to be another positive in this season especially when it comes to Young talent for the future I got a significant amount of minutes

With Drummond being in foul trouble and the bulls having to go small 15 points five rebounds three assists seven for 15 shooting great hustle great effort from IO and stepping up big while the Bulls have been short-handed and then the final thing I’ll say the biggest problem the Bulls ran into wasn’t necessarily

Tyrese halberton who had an insane game with 20 assists and zero turnovers but it was the math problem we often talk about the bulls not only did they take so many fewer threes than the Pacers did but they simply could not convert on those threes shooting just 7even for 27

From Deep while the Pacers shot 19 for 42 from three nearly tripling the number of Threes the Bulls made in this game and that was really the Difference Maker in this one the Pacers got cold for a while but didn’t stay cold for long and

You had to think that was going to be the case but anyway the Bulls fall it’s on to the next their last game of 2023 against the Sixers who may be without Joel embiid which could be nice considering the Bulls are without vich but we’ll wait to hear on the latest for

That vich has been sidelined for 7 to 10 days obviously that timeline continues to be fluid hopefully he will not be out for long but until then guys as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next One

  1. I was screaming once Coby made that long 3 to get up 1.. but we still lost.. how did we? Wtf

  2. Haliburton killed us. He's a superstar in the making. 25 points down but they fought back. 3 points lead but then Haliburton took over. Dalen Terry played a good game coming from the bench.

  3. now that defenses are scheming for Coby, he is going to have to learn and adjust. on a positive note, Lonzo might be back soon. Love to see a video about it soon.

  4. These things cost the Bulls this game in my opinion in no particular order ( 1 ) Small Ball – when Drummond got in foul trouble there's no other big on the roster besides Adama Sanogo since Vooch is out . Billy should have played Sanogo for Andre instead of going small with Terry Taylor. Probably because Adama is not NBA ready yet . (2) TOO MUCH TYRESE HALIBURTON !!!Then again the whole league struggles against guarding him not just the Bulls . (3) Too much switching and bad 3-Point defense . Bulls have got to do a better job defending the three point shot . (4) And finally being SHORT HANDED is finally catching up with the Bulls. Hence Coby White cooling off after his awesome play during the win streaks. Now they must play long term with NO Zach LaVine , NO Torrey Craig and NO Nikola Vucevic .

  5. Donovan should've played Sanogo at least 12-14 minutes in this game cause of Drummond got into foul trouble early on before halftime. Billy waited til garbage time to play Sanogo, shame on him cause that Terry Taylor small ball line up against the Pacers lenghty big men killed us! Sanoga would've been a better option than putting Taylor at the 5 going up against guys 5-6 inches taller than him.

  6. This team seems to be the team that gets blown out then claws their way back into games far to often, I love that they are able to do that, but if they're able to bring back a 25 point deficit imagine they never had a stage they get blown out but instead are the ones that gain a 25 point lead, but not losing the lead. Play styles have to change on the fly if shots aren't falling and strong defense is crucial. The three point shooting for the bulls and the opposition is killing them though. Threes really do just blow a game.

  7. Lonzo is slated to come back next month. What if we traded away Lavine and Vuc to a team with a good center like the kings, and then paired a guard duo of Lonzo and Coby White with Demar, Pwill, and Sabonis….

  8. The bulls just need a better coach and a legit power forward, they should trade Vucevic and Williams asap, both are liabilities in defense.

  9. Why not play Sanogo at all?? Also why do they take the ball out Pwills hands when he heats up but overall u aren't supposed to win games against good teams without Vooch and Craig

  10. I have to take my words back about D. Terry! He was hustling whole night! Hope B. Donovan will give him some more time to develope! But, Man, I have to say, Ayo Ayo … This lad is just untradable!!! We don't expect perfect games from the others, but I can see some bright future .. Go BULLS

  11. Quick note. I liked the way Dalen Terry played against the Pacers and would like to see more DT. The kid has a gr8 personality. What I've noticed about him is his passive/aggressive play on the court. He's not afraid to call out plays to his teammates who are much more experienced and skilled than DT, but too often while calling out plays he rarely asks for the ball to come to him. I want him to ask for the ball. Not all of the time, but some of the time. The better he becomes as a playmaker, the more he earns a key role on a retooling team.

  12. So happy for terry in this game. He looked great. All the younger guys looked really good except for Coby…but I think he will learn how to deal with tougher defense with experience. Vooch we miss your tall presence. Comeback soon! 😅

  13. Bulls need to make a deal because they have zero bench due to injuries. Also, Halliburton would look nice in a Bulls jersey but we decided to draft the next Lenard in Pat Williams lol

  14. I wonder if AK feels silly that he signed a guy to a 40 million a year contract that nobody in the NBA wants.

  15. Drummond’s only obstacle, is himself. His conditioning is worse than Zion. He is a freak of a person but he did not take advantage of that.

  16. We got the lead and IMMEDIATELY stopped scoring lmaoooo and they started scoring EVERYTHING Haliburton was jn his bag talking shit to the fans and everything, we had no answers smh Coby needs to learn how to navigate these different coverages hes gonna start seeing though

  17. The Pacers deserved to win. Today they hit the shots the next time they might not. If the Bulls play like this they will do better. Dalen Terry played good today. Need to give this guy more time because his defense was excellent.

  18. Billy Donovan blew the game with his substitutions when the Bulls had them on the ropes. Should have left that group in. Made it worse by not bringing the big cat back in. Also, what is wrong with Jevon Carter? He plays and acts like he is on the spectrum. What’s with the hoodie? The shrimp is a total bust.

  19. Billy refusing to play Phillips and Sanogo is infuriating, we need size when Drummond ain’t on the floor. We can’t keep going small against teams with good tall guys. Phillips and Sanogo are just rotting on the bench smh.

As for Dalen Terry, i wanna see more of him, he surprised me out there I definitely loved what I saw from him.

  20. Bully have been playing pretty good, nice defense out there. Keep hustling and good things will happen, I like how the players have been stepping it up with D, compared to 5-6 years ago in the league. Some of the bad things I said about the league then, maybe not so true anymore. For a while, defense and hustle looked bad in like 2009, haha. I was never like NBA level, but neither was anyone in 2009 on the Bulls, not compared to 1997 Bulls, nobody would make that team from 2009. We payed a lot of money for courtside and I was like come on people. I like the team they have now, with DeRozan and Kobe, also Caruso is crazy. Watch out for him, that's Al Capone's grandson and he's gangster.
