That random pop off was a great moment for the NBA community. Bucks legend and current broadcaster Marques Johnson has wisecracked about this line every time the Bucks have played the Pacers w/ Haliburton since that clip blew up.

  2. 0dias_Chrysalis

Well at least he said it last year and not this year where he is undeniably even better

  3. PanthalassaRo

I mean a lot of people would just double down on their takes, Wally was just a victim of the moment trying to rep Brunson. Hali is a hell of a talent.

  4. Shauerkraut

Wally lied about the “you do a good job on TV” part. John would never say something like that

  5. Insufferable-Asshat

No sympathy. These announcers need to be held accountable. Brian Damaris count your days buddy

  6. Significant-Mango300

He’s an expert on that tbh, but we also know so called experts don’t have a good predictive history…

  7. He is a wannabe fake commentator. Just boring and lifeless

  8. dustinharm

I once told my friends Michael Beasley was going to be an all-time NBA great but I didn’t say it live on tv so no one will remember and I can’t be held accountable.

  9. Good for him. Some analysts will just double down on their bad take.

  10. TheyCallMeTheWizard

I feel like he kind of had to address it after the stare down. But I love it when someone swallows their ego and owns up. It’s genuinely refreshing.

  11. CravingKoreanFood

Pretty hard to double down on that take

  12. JodiS1111

The fact that he’s standing up to admit he was wrong should give him some props… Unfortunately, in this day and age he’ll get pounced on even further for being weak for not backing up his original position. Everything is backwards and ridiculous

  13. Thats the best thing about Sports you can shut your haters right up.

  14. BlackTriceratops

    Classy after uncharacteristically not classy

  15. DJRyGuy20

Okay cool- now can we get Eddie House to take back the shit he said about the Magic?

  16. SuperstarTraxRecords

Wally is such a funny name for an adult

  17. snakejakemonkey

Haliburton is still pretty corny with the staredown.

Just like naming everyone drafted above him when his agent literally steered him away from other teams

  18. joe_pescis_dog

Szczerbiak has a face that looks like he’s had plastic surgery but he i think he just looks like that

  19. Most of the media would have doubled down on their claim, glad too see someone can admit there wrong

  20. He was a great player.

I looked up his stats and he was even an All Star in 2002. Lol how could that happened?

I never remembered him to be that good.

  21. Classic_Run_4836

I don’t know why people get on his case so much. He’s a Knicks announcer, obviously he is going to bat for his team.

If this would have happened on an ESPN kind of platform then I would have understood that. Obviously he was wrong but this kind of bashing didn’t make sense to me.

  22. mikehoodie100

The man in the back handling that ladder like a professional, super impressive.

  23. Moonbreon

doubling down would have been hilarious though

  24. Ok-Benefit1425

It was something that was blown completely out of proportion. And I say this as someone who is not exactly a fan of Wally as a commentator/analyst.

  25. lol I would have stuck to my guns like Ja Morant.

“Halliburton is by definition a wannabe superstar. Call me when he wins a ring.”

  26. VisionDFW

Wholesome moment. His dads actions also giving us a glimpse into why Tyrese is such a good dude.

  27. fathertimerules74

I don’t even understand why this choad
Is part of the knicks? And he’s banging the annoying sideline reporter too ☠️

  28. Difficult_Arm_4762

Wally looking like a sports commentator, weather man, and lead anchor all in one.

  29. implosionsinapie

How could anyone see derozan on the all-star team and call someone else a “fake all-star” last season. We literally had one of the worst offenses in the league and he is a terrible defender and somehow that = all-star

  30. ShakesbeerMe

In Wally’s defense, he was also a fake All-Star.

Loved Wally, but he’s always overestimated his own opinion and career. Also, dude needs to lay off the face-fillers.

  31. Brasi91Luca

I wonder if the Kings absolutely regret trading this guy

  32. rmccarthy10

How many times does he have to apologize,?

I personally heard him say it like five times. Get over it

  33. fromwaydowntown_bang

The context behind this situation was that before the game last year, Haliburton apparently snubbed Knicks sideline Rebecca Haarlow for an interview.

Wally and her were dating (later had a baby) so was sticking up for his lady

Still a terrible take, but that context he isn’t going to share on air

  34. fatguyinterests

I love this from Szczerbiak as a Knicks fan. 99% of Knicks sub on here could use watching this. That place makes me hate Knicks fans

  35. Halis got some traits of a superstar but hes not there yet.

My only complaint is how overvalued his numbers are in comparison to the style of play the pacers system has. his numbers benefit alot from playing at the fastest pace in the league with absolutely zero defense.

The fact that Tj mcconnell and nembhard can consistently hit 6+ assists a night off the bench shows thats the system more than the player

  36. GenericSpaciesMaster

Imagine thinking Haliburton is a superstar
