i think we gotta let go of GOAT debate for Giannis. his slow start and lack of a jumper make it nearly impossible to be up there with mj and bron

  2. QBRisNotPasserRating

He’s already the best player of all time. Shaq, Magic, and KG combined in one player. Other teams and media can cry about it.

  3. He’s going to have to keep up what he’s doing, which might be possible in today’s NBA. He probably has another 5 years of physical dominance in him with his athleticism, maybe longer if he stays injury-free.

Goat power forward is more attainable I think. Lebron and MJ are in a league of their own

To be “in the debate” for GOAT he would probably need to move to LA / NYC / Miami.

I’d strongly prefer him be “solid top ten” all-time and Buck For Life.

Can’t be the goat with his skill set. Most dominant or something like that, maybe.

Love Giannis, but I don’t think he’ll have the peak longevity that LeBron has (really no one ever has). LeBron is doing stuff at 38-39 that is unprecedented. I agree with the person who said Giannis probably has 5 more years in his relative peak form.

50/40/90 year. Even if he only takes two 3’s all year and misses one of em

He would need a buncha rings… But he’s already our GOAT

Probably 4x MVP, 2x DPOY, and at least 5 titles with 4 of those being FMVP just to be in the discussion

  11. JPD050409

Its virtually impossible to beat Lebrons argument for stats and longevity so he would have to go the ring culture / MVP route. At the very least needs 5 rings and have dominant playoff runs. Having been lucky enough to watch MJ get his first title when i was a kid, its going to be really hard to wipe that memory of his career off of my and many other old heads brains to annoint someone else as the GOAT.

Winning 2-3 more titles in Milwaukee and perhaps winning all-defense a bunch as well as another MVP should put him in the LeBron conversation. Getting into the Jordan conversation will require substantially more.

  13. Ticklemykelmo

Simply put, he can’t. Love the guy, but he doesn’t have the skillset for longevity. Unless the bucks doe something crazy like win 3 of the next 4, I don’t think there’s any way.

  14. OutsetFlair

Like 2 more championships, another MVP, 10 more All-Star and All-NBA selections.

  15. arlindavdullahu19

He’d have to go on a insane run to get into that conversation. Head have to win back to back or 3 peat plus a few more mvps.

  16. Mustard_Jam

Well.. he magically needs to learn how to shoot to extend is longevity.

He needs to AT LEAST match Jordan in rings. Probably not lose in the finals because we know how that narrative is (even though it is stupid).

If he can win 5 more rings over the next 10 years while being the finals MVP on all of them AND still average 28 PPG or so over that stretch while winning a few more MVPs than sure he can do it.

But what’s the chance of that? Yeah basically nothing.

  17. Brogdon_Brogdon

No hyperbole, 5 more rings gets him in the ballpark top 5 discussion, he’d need a 6th to break top 3

  18. MarchImmediate2173

His stats will never look as good on paper as those two because of his slow start so it would have to be titles. Can he get 4 or 5 going undefeated in the finals? Can he get a 3 or even a 4-peat? Highly unlikely, but I feel like that’s what it would take
