Lopez in tough situations just lucky they shot six of 43 from three can’t just rely on offense through the playoffs and Danny it’s funny because I was watching uh Tim legler and um JJ reic and one of the things J Tim legler was saying was it was this quote where
He’s talking about offenes and well he’s talking about defenses now in the NBA and saying that no longer do you need this Top Flight defense one of these big you know these big time defenses top top you know five in the league because the offenses are just so good at this point
Do and this is from an from a a former play NBA player and I believe JJ Reddit kind of echoed those cament you seen the bucks now creeping up and I know there’re still I think 20th total in defensive rating uh however you know they’re they’re they’re actually I
Believe this is correct they’re closer to 15th in defensive rating than they are 21st first so I mean there’s a lot of teams just kind of all scattered in there so they’re very close to being a top half defensive team uh tonight will probably help that only giving up 111 uh
To the uh Cleveland Cavaliers and I thought overall outside of the first quarter where they gave up 37 points um you know everything kind of slowed down the second offensively for both teams but then the third quarter bucks really picked it up uh and the four believe the
Cavs actually outscored the Bucks a little bit there but the Bucks had enough to get it done U but do you believe that so a couple things there one you know that that you know the Cavs were we were lucky the Cavs shot 6 to 43
From three and they you can’t rely on offense through the playoffs and then to that second point of you know of uh Tim legler stating you know that hey defense not as important as it used to be I get where he’s coming from especially with the the Nuggets winning
Last year and that’s kind of what he was alluding to in a sense um I will say regarding tonight’s game I I will agree they missed a lot of shots and I think for me um as we continue on the regular season and push towards the playoffs and get into the
Playoffs I think we’re not g to have that guy who’s like you know from the past like a Tony Allen Raja Bell like you know lock down Defender but I need guys to at least have some pride and have you know keep the guy in front of
Them them there are lots of times where I just feel like guys let the player Blow by them and you know forget it’s not even a scheme thing it’s like you have your man at the top of the key you got to stay in front of him and you know I
Think I think that’s a big that’s a big issue and you know a lot of people you know in the National media wanted to talk about how Drew you know Drew holiday was a big loss for us defensively well last year he really didn’t make a difference you know and I think the
Thing for this year is you know we should be that much better offensively to counteract what we lost with Drew let’s say two years ago where he was where he did make a difference and you know I just hope our offense is consist enough you know that we can allow for those
Defensive lapses but we also can’t rely on scoring 130 and4 140 points a night you know and I think you know going back to the point I keep bling this point but like when you look at you know finishing out constructing your roster you know are
There guys out there who you can put in for spot minutes who can you know be physical with them keep them in front of them you know defensively keep the other man in front of them and you know I think that that to me also is it goes back to
My other point effort urgency you know is blowing by because they just don’t they’re not athletic enough to play defense or is it like I’m just taking this possession off and that goes to you know the type of guys you have on your team so that’s also something to think
About yeah and again for a lot of part I I think a lot of times there early in season there a lot of miscommunications versus you know lack of effort again there has been a lot of that as well the lack of effort you know
Has definitely been a part of it but I you’re seeing guys look to be a little bit more connect connected as the season wears on uh and then you know again tonight the the effort got there a little bit quicker um than you’ve SE in some games where you know the Bucks
Don’t have it till till the fourth quarter starts right and so um tonight was a was a little bit better um in in that sense um at Ian Lambert 126 says if they had one guard SL wi who could be consistently solid on D we could hold leads and extend them more consistently
I’ take Javon Carter and West Matthew soak it up 28 minutes in a heartbeat and to to me again that’s a regular season comment from Ian Lambert because I saw Javon Carter in the playoffs and he didn’t look like a guy that I could rely
On or play just being H he he was out there like like I feel like like do people forget what happened like like how the Bucks lost and like where some of those I saw somebody else clamoring oh it’s Miss Grayson out like do you people forget some of the things that
Took place and it’s just always nice to look and talk about guys that you may have had in the past or what they’ve done but everybody comes with different strengths now that you know hopefully work down the line and unfortunately and as much as I like Javon Carter I saw him
In the playoffs when he got real time when everybody was clamoring for him to get time in that Boston series a couple years when Chris Milton was injured and he didn’t get the time and then you got to play the next year and you don’t show
Me anything and so for for for those reasons you know I just have a hard time going well oh man if we just had Javon Carter that that would make all the difference maybe regular season yeah but I you know if you can’t show up when
It’s time to show up I at this point I only need to see one season of it for me to be okay moving on I think in the is my opinion again I think Malik Beasley changes that narrative because I think his game translates a bit better to the
Playoffs than a Javon Carter a Grayson Allen because obviously it’s a m maker Miss league but this guy pretty much throughout the entire regular season has shown consistency and be being able to hit that shot but also what I see is is his ability to guard multiple positions defensively his effort
Defensively Malik Beasley being guard guys defensively be able to guard I’m just asking he hold his own I got I I got I just want to make sure I got claar I gotta stop you there Malik Beasley the guy who you could take the I I won money tonight because I put money
On Donovan Mitchell uh going over his point because you can put the you could take the over on any guard playing against the Bucks and you’re going to it’s going to hit brunt name them Brunson halberton uh uh any guard you want to name they’re going to hit their
Over so I I guess I’m just trying to figure out what we mean by when we say he’s gonna guard different players what I’m saying is is if we’re going to start switching okay in the playoffs because that’s what at the end of the day that’s what we’re going to be
End ending up talking about he is a much better option whether he succeeds or not that’s a different conversation but he is a much better option than what you were referring to of fans talking about players in the past Grayson Allen Javon Carter Wesley Matthews I think is
Similar but I think his skill set is more translatable to the playoffs than the other two but I think there will be points in the playoffs where you referring to your point where you can bet the over on the guard you know getting their points the most points I
Think it’s going to be potentially tough at times for him to play in crucial minutes because we we will need a guy like a Jay Crowder or someone similar to be able to get a stop for us while we have Dan Chris and Giannis and whether it’s
Brooke or whether it’s Bobby you know offensive offensively being there for us so that’s my clarification on the uh Malik Beasley comment well and the thing that’s keeping him on the floor is his is his offense that’s what makes him you that that’s what makes him you know
Viable when you say hold your own you can handle some of that stuff if you’re also hitting shots that’s the same goes for Bobby Porters I can handle some defensive deficiencies if you’re going to make shots and make guys pay um on the other end Bucks winning tonight 1191

To Giannis I think um he played a um except there was certain points where he made some interesting decisions on the court but he played an pretty incredible game and and he kind of um along with Dame took us to the finish line and that’s what we talk about you know if
You’re keeping it closer if you have a lead as long as you have those two and a Chris Middleton cooking offensively one night here and there you’re golden yeah I’m gonna give my game ball to Damen lard tonight I think obviously could have went to jannis jiannis had a had a
Better probably game just throughout the night but Damen Lillard in the third and fourth quarter believe he put up 24 of his 31 in the third fourth and that’s when the bcss took over it was you know that second half he just played extremely well extremely efficient um
Down the stretch finish up shooting about 57 56% from the field uh went 11 for 11 from the line which was excellent as well and only had um a couple of turnovers so he ended up being a plus 14 on the night so really good night from
Damen L and then down the stretch he absolutely took over people call him a foul Merchant whatever you want to say uh he had a big dunk uh that he missed that was ended up being a foul he drew another foul on uh Isaac aoro as well
Where you know flailing his arms and getting the call so again I I I listen you g find a way to get to the line keep the scoreboard moving uh that’s what Damen L was able to do and down the stretch again the fourth quarter that’s what he’s here for that’s exactly what
Damen lard is here for those moments where you got to find ways to get Buckets because I know we talk about ball movement but sometimes this just the nature of the NBA is in the fourth quarter in those clutch moments yeah you know I’d rather

There’ve been a few games where just you know on the front end of a back to back or whatever he’s got going on he’s not playing my issue is this isn’t one of those ones where you grandfather a guy in this isn’t LeBron this isn’t Chris Milton who’s hurt this isn’t Yannis
Yannis and I think I I think that the Bucks are starting to do this on purpose now Jan has been questionable like four games in a row so they are setting this thing up for whenever they feel like down the line they need to rest him it
Seems like he’s just always on the injury report now and he’s going to be able to do that down the stretch but again Jan has chronic knee issues Chris issues um you have a lot of guys who who have some of these you know from different teams all over who are older
Guys who have some of the problems Victor wiama is 19 why are you resting on front ends and back to backs that does that does not wash with me I have a problem with it do you oh I have I have a problem I don’t
