Games away but it is a long season and despite this being even that big opportunity to get a win get on the road back to 500 unfortunately the Toronto RS are three and n on the road this season so the Raptors despite being failed by seven and a half points still have their

Work cut out for themselves a little bit here I’m interested to see how the market adjust to the news some well actually it’s six and a half now anyways but I’m excited to see the market adjust to the news here that well the Raptors have finally made the

Switch we’ve been asking for the Toronto Raptors have changed their starting lineup it is game 30 on the season and for the first time uh unrelated to injuries the Toronto Raptors have shaken up their starting five Gary Trent Jr is into the starting five for the Toronto Raptors to the bench goes Dennis

Schroeder wow wow interesting move by dark rakovich after well we had a pretty rough watch party on on Saturday if you’re one of the members and you caught the Sunday morning member exclusive stream we spoke about dark rakovich is press conference comments after the loss of the Utah Jazz where he was

Dumbfounded by what he could possibly change about the lineups saying change lineups this is a direct quote by the way change lineups what how why who we can mix up rotations it’s not like we have Steph Curry on the bench and we’re not playing him well for the very next game after

All of that nonsense he has made a lineup change and Gary Trent Jr comes into the starting five okay well a change to the starting five we will see Scotty Barnes leading the team as a point guard here and I personally feel like Scotty barnes’s best position is at forward and I

Maintain that however it will be refreshing to see a bit more spacing injected into the starting five a bit more in my opinion Talent injected into the starting five and you know what there just might be a little bit of extra excitement associated with just getting to

See what we have in Scotty Barnes here I mean the season 1118 I’m not expecting playoffs at this point let’s just get Scotty Barnes the ball as much as possible and see where that leads us see how this looks this is going to be a real opportunity or a re not opportunity

But a real Showcase of what Scotty Barnes will look like with the ball in his hands as the main offensive initiator in the half court so we still don’t have the pull-up jumping presence from the point guard position however we have a bit more of a dynamic point guard

We have a better point guard here uh better player involved in more of the the offense and Scotty Barnes here and instead of Barnes being the secondary ball handler here we’re more so going to see cakam as a secondary ball handler so Schroeder’s out more spacing in the

Starting five and likely the closing Five and on top of that likely more touches afforded to Scotty Barnes more touches afforded to Pascal cakam doesn’t seem there as many negatives that are associated with this however now we need to discuss what exactly is the bench going to look like

Dennis Scher will be coming off the bench he’ll be leading the second unit a little bit I’m all of a sudden suspecting that there is no role period for malkey Flynn I mean what would be the necessity of using malkey Flynn on a day like today I

Mean you have him in a lot of lineups to be the backup point guard well shro is the backup point guard so it will be interesting because Scotty so often has been the four plus one guy with the bench feeling with a lineup like this is that shroeder will be with the bench

Guys and like you have to go to start I mean well I think this gives I think this gives Darko honestly a bigger reason to go four plus one because he’ll want to use Schroeder along with like anobi or something in three bench guys which would be a four plus one

Lineup I mean he still should not go four plus one he should still go 3 plus two have Schroeder in the three though and you can still play you know Schroeder some minutes here he’s obviously still fine player but hopefully a little bit less of a focal point offensively compared to

Cakam and Barnes and also hoping that Dennis TR of the Ben still gives us a three plus two lineup which will look a lot better than the old three plus two Ls because you have a borderline starter INR coming off the bench so for the first time

In a long time I mean it’s been quite a while I’m actually excited to watch a Raptor’s game you know I’ve gone into these games I’m always excited to to hang out with you guys stream for you guys I love doing this stuff but the games are just so deflating at the end

Of the day they used to really pick me up at the end of the day after a busy day a tough day a stressful day I come on here just have fun and watch the Raptors and yeah there’s some bad games but there’s good games as well and

There’s exciting games but this season there’s been so many games where like you get nothing out of the Raptors and honestly and even games they win I leave pissed off with how they played so for the first time excited cuz I I’m I’m seeing something different I’m seeing us

Try something I’m seeing us like at least try to fix things and we’re going to get a real Showcase of Scotty barnes’s talents today and we’re going to get a real opportunities to to have maybe a glimpse of what this team could look like with Barnes as a point guard

Is this barnes’s position of the future obviously that question will not be answered today but can we have a good hint and what better way to kind of you know pump these guys’ tires perhaps so let’s let’s rephrase this what better opportunity to pump these guys’ tires than a game against the 5

And 24 Washington Wizards like this is a game you got to win so you got to go find a way to do that so we’ll give Darko the praise for making this change to the starting five however however the roster still has some issues and I still

Don’t trust Darko so Darko will still have to put out lineups over the course of 48 minutes here that makes sense is he going to be able to do that what has the preparation been like over the holiday period perod these are questions that hopefully we have some

Gary he has to understand this is a contract season and here’s an opportunity to you know lock down this starting role and increase the stock going into the summer that could be massive that could also be massive for the Raptors heading into the trade deadline but we shall see on that Noel

At point guard you just got to think about the defense there but it’d be nice to see like one of him or Freeman Liberty although there’s less of a need for a backup point guard at this point have a rule where anyone who shoots under 30% from three points

Should not touch the court well Scotty did Le less than that last season so you need time to work on it um sakam is really good at basketball so you should continue to play him and purle is not a shooter so you can’t really fault him

For not being three shooter um I don’t think I don’t I don’t agree with how harsh that conversation is about the uh the three-point shooting but um obviously it does does need to strengthen here however the question should be about the roster more so than

It is the players that we have here that being said some of these players also could stand to improve seak being one of them Schroeder honeymoon phase over it it appears as though I think that might be a decent way to describe it I mean he

Was elected to start the season but it’s been clear for probably 10 or so games that uh a change like this needed to happen well Darko sub and Sher with 5 minutes left in the game is something to watch that is something I’m looking at as well Steve Stevens will the Raptors

Close with Schroeder despite this change I’m thinking today he’ll go go with his guys here and go with the starting lineup don’t want to look like you know you’re backing off your stance there here what should the second unit look like well see the the way I I’ve obviously

Described second units already but it should just be um it should the bench gu should be integrated over the course of a game sporadically it shouldn’t be you know here we go we got the bench lineup in it should be some lineups where you’re at three starters two bench guys

There should be some lineups where there’s two B uh two starters three bench guys I don’t want to see just you know Barnes plus four bench guys that’s that’s dumb uh I want to see these guys integrated because the bench guys as well it’s unfair to the guys on the

Bench to have to play with one another like they’re working with with lesser players to their side and a lot of them are good complimentary players like UT Porter Jr like what’s the point of using OT Porter with three other bench guys in Scotty Barnes he’s a complimentary

Player that should be integrated in with some starters a lot of the time because he’s going to be the floor spacer he’s going to be a guy who’s playing some gritty defense so I don’t really want to go to like a specific second unit here but again wondering about malkey Flynn

And the potential that he could lose his role in its entirety and uh to be honest like I I’d welcome that possibility uh I’m very happy he’s trying something new though uh Mike tether just joined time to get stoned order some pizza and watch game where in

Ton of fun in Houston however it was probably much a much better experience being with some locals there who could drive us around and knew like the best things to do in the area had it been perhaps just me and friends trying to figure it out maybe not as good but

Houston was great I recommend visiting there as well and trying some some food what’s my favorite football team uh you mean American foot football which I’m assuming you are I am a New York Giants fan and um not a very well wouldn’t say not a happy one uh I am content that

They did lose that game to the Eagles because I am in free the tank mode for the Giants but I’m not pleased with how the season has gone thus far a lot of my teams in in uh in Peril here do I think Sky will be a superstar

I do I I’m at the point where I think that should be the expectation Shaden sharp with Sky would be a fire Duo that’d be interesting it would just depend on the consistency of their shooting because it’s two guys like honestly haven’t been in tune with Portland a sharp like shooting the

If you do drink it’s more fun when you do drink because you can drink anywhere uh on the street anywhere uh just bring a beer with you whever you go uh if you want um but yes still still fun still fun to do a bunch of things without alcohol definitely definitely and it’s

It’s it’s cheap to go um Vegas is not an expensive place to visit like you can even like slightly ball out on a better Hotel like I paid a bit more to stay at MGM Grand and it was it was great I was there before the sphere open but uh if I

Went if I go back which I may do one day I would absolutely love to see that uh I get a memorable gift for X for Christmas um yeah I’ll was talking about it before joining in new Raptor’s hoodie which I’m very big fan of I wear these on stream I

Just get so damn hot while I’m streaming and I can’t wear hoodies unless it’s like pretty cold and I’m not overheating but new Raptor’s hoodie which uh which I’m I’m very very happy with um also got some um these uh wall prints from that are inspired by Bellwoods brewery beer that

I like which are now in my living room which is great um very happy that I also got a panini press which um which um which um I use today um I had one at University because one of my roommates had one got my own panini press and uh

Used it today on on a leftover Christmas sandwich threw some some turkey shredded up some turkey with some mashed potatoes some stuffing put some mayo and hot sauce and gravy in there mixed it all up to make like almost like a chop sandwich slathered that down on some homemade

White bread that my mom made threw that in the panini press that was a tasty lunch yeah I really like the hoodie also got I I showed it earlier I don’t want to get up again but I got the black maple leaf Jersey Austin Matthews Jersey the reversible one that one I’m excited

As well I’m going to another I’m going to a leae game in about a month so I will be wearing it there I went to a game earlier this season and excited to go to another one LA or F I’ve never been to LA

If I had the choice I’d go to La uh just to experience that for the first time because I’ve done Vegas however I do not think it could top Vegas I had I had a I had so much fun in Vegas I was there for four days I think that’s all you really

Need but uh Vegas Vegas truly if you’re thinking about it I mean it’s boxing week good time to book a trip like I stay at MGM Grand four days um four was it four nights I want to say four nights MGM Grand and don’t even think I cross 500 bucks

For the whole for the whole state Canadian in terms of accommodation now food drink while you’re there that’s a whole different story you probably double that but um it it’s not that expensive to go and that included flight as well that was flight and hotel was it that cheap am I losing

My I swear it was that cheap like with the Air Canada boxing day thing anyways not that expensive regardless i’ you were thinking about it I’d look into it uh but but I agree with I Wish I Had a Brain who says Vegas is boring after two

Days I wouldn’t say two days uh but I would say four days or so not necessarily that it’s boring but you’re just like you’re ready to get to come back to reality you know you’re ready to to stop destroying your your body and and it’s just it’s just a lot all at

Once I was staying on the strip and you’re ready just to come back down to earth uh after four four or five days I would say you know what I mean but uh one attraction I really like about Vegas is um just a little bit off the strip

Perhaps a 30 minute walk or so you can take a bus absolutely but um about 30 minutes off the strip walking wise there is the Pinball Hall of Fame which isn’t really a Pinball Hall of Fame it’s just it’s called that but it is a massive Warehouse with rows and rows of pinball

Machines I mean walk into this place with a $10 bill get it change into quarters and play Pinball for like an hour or or or or more straight just keep ripping the pinball machines that was one of my favorite experiences in my time in Las Vegas just ripping pinball

For for about an hour with like $10 and just so much fun probably more probably like more like two hours but $10 and just so much fun doing all that so I uh I highly recommend that if you are in in in Las Vegas um don’t do the aquarium the

Aquarium sucked that’s the one thing I would say nah don’t don’t worry about it it’s very small pretty expensive I mean you really want to do it just to do it but go ahead but yeah uh can we get a pre pregame 50 likes I mean I would

Certainly be happy if we could do that so if you are enjoying smash the like button I mean we’re going to be going we’re going to be going for another two and a half hours or so here we’re going to put in the work smash that like

Button if you’re hyped for this Raptors game because I’m excited I’m in a good mood today how much money did I win I did not win betting in Vegas um I uh I think I lost 200 like 250 uh gambling in Vegas all in all I mean it just sucks

You down quickly uh but I was comfortable I went in saying like I I’ll lose like 250 Max and I’m good um I did have one really fun night where I lost $40 I I went in with $40 for blackjack I played for over an hour went up 80 bucks

And went down all the way and lost all my money on Blackjack but like I had um honestly it was worth it because I had a fun time I got a bunch of free drinks CU you’re sitting at the table they’re feeding you drink so maybe that made up

For it a little bit um but yeah just make sure you have a limit for for betting there cuz like you’re going to you’re going to likely all in all likelihood lose the more you play the more likely you are to lose your your best strategy is put all the money you

Brought for betting slam it down on one Blackjack hand and that is your likeliest chance of Leaving Vegas profitable it it just mathematically that is your best chance of w of winning you know what’s the spread tonight uh it’s six and a half yes um personally I like

The rap on the six and a half and I will I would be honest if I didn’t like the Raptor spread but I do like I do I fancy the Raptor spread today but not enough for me to make that play um your buddy’s wife plays competitive pinball and she

Manages a pinball bar in Calgary that is that sounds like fun when I have a if I when if I ever have a living accommodation that is large enough to have a pinball machine I would very much like to save up and get one cuz me and my girlfriend absolutely love playing

On OG here we get the switch flip out to OG he shoots over of Dia and it’s short not great at all there um so interestingly it’s avdia on Barnes they have gone to that and even further interestingly Jordan p is on OG so they have tus Jones on Trent just they don’t

Want him on Barnes and they’re letting Jordan P handle OG so Jordan paol misses a three there seak this is going to be really interesting to see how they handle OG and this is going to be a really good indication of darko’s coaching ability because there should be some

Designs in place cuz you we should be aware that they were going to have some mismatch on defense that’s one how are you going to exploit the OG mismatch here is a question that I would have for Darko Scotty Barnes for three this one doesn’t go lot of three-point shooting

By the Raptors not enough dribble penetration here uh that’s something that we need to get going it looked good for the first couple minutes last couple sets have not been as much so foul here called as kuzma hits a three it will not count foul charged against cakam there

Jones maybe doesn’t quite classify into the guys I’d be afraid of most there but a more Nimble point guard perhaps he can exploit and he did off that switch however uh I I haven’t been focusing on it but Gary Trent’s now defending him I wasn’t sure I don’t know if that’s been

Tonight is interesting though the thing that will Elevate Sky’s Talent Exel is the handle with attacking cloth that is the next Evolution so you’re right he’s got to you’re right if he can tight up the handle that’s probably the next Evolution here if the shooting Is For Real then absolutely

Tightening up that handle uh is going to be massive and every indication is that he’s going to work on these things but one thing at a time the shooting looks like it’s arrived can we keep it the whole season that’s another thing to look at but things are up in the Scotty Barnes

Dble pation isn’t as necessary you wanted to trade him for KD KD looks like K looks like he’s about to force his way out of another franchise judging by his uh body language and performances lately I um when would I have bought Scotty Barnes stocks probably a few games into his

Rookie season then I would have been a bit you know weary mid mid second season coming to the season would have been excited but uh yeah I mean if you got those stocks figuratively these stocks don’t exist by the way um you’re feeling good if we trade for Kevin Durant 2022

Offseason we would be in the 202 finals remind me I don’t I don’t think so if I believe that like pre-season I would have probably been a lot more inclined to make that trade which I was completely against the big trades I’ve been for making the Dame one this summer

Oh that’s the one I uh I look back on and think man that would have been a good trade Kevin really showing signs of aging here the real look back for us missing out of Bane that will sting uh probably for a very long time just hasn’t worked out with Malachi

Have lost my mind did I know Kawai his draft report was considered to be the worst shooter amongst his comparable Wings yes I did said it would be uh would that best be a good role player um basically like every year we’re reminded it’s very hard to draft successfully

It’s very hard and often times for no reason a player struggles and another one does really well for no reason like like who could have foreseen Gary dick forgetting how to shoot threes that’s just insane uh Raptor forced to turnover here not really but they get the turnover

Trent lobs it to OG who gets up and puts it down another turnover by the Wizards faltering late here OG inside again layup and one OG getting inside and finding some points okay Wizards bailing out a tough stretch for the Raptors here with back-to-back ugly turnovers and the

Raptors cash in in the full court one time on a Gary lob to OG another time on a Gary feed to sakam who feeds OG inside well grd dick’s not a bus let’s say let’s put that let’s get that clear right away we got we got a lot of lot of

Time left for him to sort things out obviously it hasn’t been great to start you know you look at Jordan Hawkins konay George have looked better but situationally Keon George is getting heavy minutes that’s benefiting him he’s getting the ball in his hands a lot um Hawkins I mean yeah he’s doing

Really well at the gates but you know we’re going to see what these guys look like in years from now and that’s what’s going to be the indication not 30 games into their NBA careers Raptors chance potentially with the second last possession to add on to the 11-point

Lead they have Dennis Schroeder out to McDaniels who’s playing for some reason OG Corner three still can’t find that range Wizards have a look in transition and at the buzzer the Raptors do not get back and a layup makes it 59 to 50 so I wish the half

Ended a little bit better but I cannot really be upset here the Raptors have looked pretty good through through most of that half and are good for a uh a nice get my words right get a nice nine-point lead going into the so starting lineup changes rotation changes

New look starting five I haven’t been particularly impressed over I’ve been impressed with the lineup and how it looks haven’t been as impressed with the schemes utilized with the lineup I just feel like it’s been thrown out there and yes it makes more sense but it hasn’t we

Haven’t really used what we have now to create advantages so the spacing Barnes driving in kicking uh still potentially with a bit more space and getting sakam looks down low Sak’s only taking seven shots here he’s three to seven six points uh underwhelming for sure for

Sakam but three to seven because we need more opportunities B opportunities here for OG lot of looks down low lot of in transition and that’s been working really well still struggling to find consistency from three he’s to a six but 19 points Barnes in the new role has

Looked great he’s still getting a lot of M Wood schroer so he’s not playing as the lead point guard but Barnes has looked good 13 points seven rebounds five assists in a first half those are ridiculous ous numbers five of 10 three of five from three lot of lot of the

Numbers still coming from three though would like to see more of the drive and kick game off of picking off of screens yako perto one of one uh it’s a small ball game here Wizards don’t really have bigs they’re only big as Gafford they use galinari as their backup big not

Really as much of a necessity to use Perl today that being said he’s got two steals four rebounds and just the four points in here Gary Trent is two of four from three he’s three of six from the field this is what you wanted it Gary

It’s the spacing it’s not as much as the numbers it’s the spacing he provides Off the Bench Dennis schroers still got heavy minutes he had pretty much just as much as Gary Trent in those minutes he had just two shots but he had eight assists he’s moving the ball really well

And that has been a welcome site and he leads the Raptors in plus minus at plus 20 now what I haven’t loved is Darko is still intent on using the four plus one lineup four bench players one starter what is a bit of a Saving Grace is that

One of the bench players is now Dennis Schroeder so that improves the bench quality overall but it still just limits what you get out of the other guys who are trying to compliment the lineups Porter bue and in this case Jayden McDaniels uh Jaylen McDaniels they’re good at complimenting

Talented players not as much as just creating for themselves so I like that at least hey buet can shoot he’s one of two today McDaniels in theory can shoot though obviously we’ve seen this season he’s bad at it he’s 0 of2 today at least in theory he can shoot and OT Porter

Obviously can space the floor at least in theory when you’re playing these lineups with bu McDaniels Porter Schroeder and either sakim or or Barnes as a fifth to round it off you’re playing pretty five out offense at as much as possible however you’re still just limiting your impact offensively and

You’re really limiting the penetration inside because as much as you know you want to play this more five out style are these guys respected enough to do that that’s the bigger question so I don’t love the four plus one lineups but at least it provides us an opportunity

To see more of the Barnes purle Trent and an Obi sakam lineup and those guys together a bit more often I would say longer term when you’re not playing the Wizards you’re going to have to find a way to get two starters on the floor minimum at all times I get that Darko

Kind of wants to see what it looks like he really wants to play starters together he really wants to use these four plus one lines so I understand that with the switch here he just wants to see what that lineup looks like together and can we make it work like this a nice

Time to experiment is against the 5 and 24 Washington Wizards we’re only down by nine and we know the raps are capable of blowing a lead like that we had some evidence of that on Saturday with even less time than half of a game remaining but schroer seems to be taking this new

Rle well tonight and honestly I I’ve been I’m coming out of that first have pretty optimistic about what this could look like with the changes and I just hope that bit more prep goes into what the starting five looks like together we’ve done a great job of using OG size advantage and

Mismatches they I mean rapt are playing big here Barnes is the point guard you can’t have most opposition point guards defending Scotty Barnes so there’s mismatches and the Wizards decided that today they were going to just deal with a mismatch on OG OG like I said is 8 to

13 with 19 points so great job by the Raptors to recognize that and use OG a lot today uh on a ho in the game Raptors are shooting the ball well from three which obviously will always help this team but they’re shooting 52% from the field 38% from three uh turnovers have

Helped uh actually it’s 9 N I thought it’ be much more in our favor but I guess it does seem that way because we have 15 fast break points compared to their four now where we’re letting things slip is they have 18 points off of our nine turnovers we have eight off

Of their nine turnover turnovers so if we are protecting the ball maximizing possessions you’re the better team here the Raptors should absolutely go forward and win this basketball game but as we’ve seen many times this season things will just not be a formality for this group um we shall

See uh but it is a welcome site that we have eight of the eight of the Raptors players in the positive on the plus minus here the only player in the negative today is jayen McDaniels at minus 6 everybody else is plus one or better Barnes plus one seak Perle plus

Three anobi plus 13 Trent plus4 bue plus five Porter plus two McDaniels minus 6 and schroer plus 20 uh I will say that uh cakam and Barnes do get minutes with the bench guys which can make that maybe a bit more difficult uh but uh I mean clearly the anobi minutes are working

Here and it’s turning defense into offense where that is more so the case and honestly a couple of those turnovers Raptors scored on late helped with the points off turnover statistic that I referenced there so uh turnovers uh have been kind of made us look a little bit

Better late in that half I think but we just we just still don’t have the goto offensive schemes so that is what I’m hoping for a bit of an answer to in the second half which will be on the way very surely imagine this team goes on a

10 win streak with the new starting five msai buys back into mediocrity um look I I’m not going to say a 100 run is bad for this team uh let’s let’s try to win games here um front off should understand even with success that the the team should not be strengthened it

Should be brought back the other way but um it listen I if the front office is dumb and if we win a few games they they do something stupid like that like that that shouldn’t be your reason like root against team like let’s let’s do

Our job here and do well here uh I do have as Joey enters the chat here Joe to Misfit I do have a higher degree of confidence with a lineup like this that we will be able to beat the Pistons um that is a game I’m nervous for but I am

More confident now going to that game I obviously expect raps win regardless but I’m more confident now having made this lineup switch uh what would you do if they traded first round pick I i’ I’d lose it I mean I i’ I’d I’d go on an absolute tiate against the front office

Such what I’m saying is perhaps it was not a dog perhaps family time around the holidays can get tense especially when you’re an NBA player and perhaps you’re not always Around uh on Christmas perhaps tensions are high and Perhaps Perhaps it wasn’t a dog um I’m I am implying that there’s a possibility a dog is a good way to cover up anything that could have gone wrong I mean lacerations on the face little investigation

out there and hope for the best there is proactivity which I’m open to he’s trying things today uh thoughts on the Suns and Lakers looking old also the Warriors might be a change of the Guard here OKC Minnesota looking so good Warriors fall was inevitable I’ve been low on them for a

Few years now the championship in that but I’ve been low on them not as shocking to me the Lakers looking the way they do is surprising Um it’s going to be tough for the Lakers to pull a championship out with just such a definitive lack of spacing and three-point shooting no matter how good LeBron ad are ad8 is too inconsistent as good as he is LeBron it just starts to feel like time might catch up now

But I’m not going to doubt LeBron as far as the Suns listen you traded for KD who’s not serious you traded for Beal who doesn’t fit with this team you didn’t do a good enough job of filling out the depth and here you are I didn’t think I wasn’t a

Huge believer in the Suns but I didn’t think it’d be this bad shot clock ation by the Wizards forced by the Raptors out of the timeout always a great thing to see Moses mood would be a nice addition to this team sukman I agree would you

Bet on two of them missing the Playoffs I mean like it’s obviously odds driven if like if like if I was betting like 5050 odds one or the other would I bet on two of the Lakers Warriors and Suns Smiths playoffs I believe the uh I wouldn’t I believe the Warriors

Will but I I I I have enough faith in the Lakers to get together and uh the Suns like if they’re full throttle healthy at any point I think that’s a team that could do it the Clippers and just go on a run and get themselves right back in that

Mix uh LeBron’s been amazing but he’s not been like like LeBron James you know he’s been great but he hasn’t been domination LeBron James thoughts on Clippers um if Harden’s shooting the ball a lot and giving space to Kawai and kawai’s fresher because he has way more space and he’s not grinding for

His buckets like I like zubot is is a great fit there great pick and roll partner uh man in the starting five is great Russ is is doing his job in short spurts like yeah they can stay healthy that’s a real threat to win the chip

Of adjustment that would absolutely be fine the Celtics 08 I agree Celtics 08 if you go further than that like those Spurs teams like I have a bit of reservation towards that not as confident there if we go further than the Spurs um who won in ‘ 06 Miami

Postgame press conference where he was once again asked after another embarrassing loss about the possibility of lineup changes and changing the lineup to which he replied change lineups is a direct quote what how why who we can mix up rotations but it’s not like we have

Steph Curry on the bench and we’re not playing him this made me angrier because it was a clear there’s clear recognition from people watching like myself that the lineups weren’t working the starting lineup wasn’t having success and on top of that the bench lineups were horrible the four plus one lineups four bench

Players one starter lineups were not working there was not enough talent and it cost us the game against the Utah Jazz in the fourth quarter it was obvious things needed to change so I couldn’t believe an NBA head coach couldn’t recognize the shortcomings that easily were able to be spotted by

Somebody like myself on the outside looking in how could dark up figure these things out well he mentioned that he needs to look in the mirror everybody in the organization needs to look in the mirror and think about what they need to do better well it looks like Darko

Looked in the mirror for a very long time because we got a change to the starting five today and a welcome one indeed Dennis Schroeder moves to the bench in favor of Gary Trent Jr so we got treated to some Scotty Barnes running the point we got more spacing

Into the team by adding in Gary Trent to the starting five Gary Trent has a knack for performing better in the starting five and that was true today he did look improved today for the Raptors and that was a welcome sight indeed and we just saw better schemes particularly in the

Second half along with that starting five change we also have to question what the rotations were going to look like off the bench now I was a little bit worried that we would still use the four plus1 bench unit which again four bench guys one starter four plus one

Lineups however now that Dennis schroer was off the bench Dennis schroer was one of those four players so it was a lot easier to swallow and stomach those four plus one lineups when the four plus one lineup is Dennis Schroeder along with either Scotty bournes or Pascal cakam

Along with three other bench players bench players typically were OT Porter Jr jayen McDaniels as well as Chris bue we got a bit of a Chua with a starting unit in the second half which we can go into as well but those lineups especially playing against a lesser

Wizards team and a small Wizards team allowed us for a ton of spacing and a ton of opportunities Dennis strer uh with the bench unit was does a much better job of initiating offense and creating advantages for his teammates which usually the bench lineups don’t have at all and have no players to

Compliment really because they’re trying to create things on their own having the additional Talent Barnes and or seak on the side of that just made the bench minutes a lot more pleasing to watch and I was never at any point looking at the lineup on the floor thinking what the

Hell are you doing this doesn’t make any sense the starting five which is more so what you maybe would want to be focused on were better I I don’t want to give too much credit here like I think Darko makes a lot of good decisions today

Lineup wise however I would like to see a more schematically driven starting five like yes this starting five does allow us to space the floor a little bit more more Talent on the floor get seakan Barnes more involved but just how are we going to use these good traits that this

L now possesses we need to use these in certain plays and sets we need these to be drawn up to use actually on the floor which is more but we are more so just thinking like okay it’s it’s just better now it makes more sense it’s going to

Work that changed a bit in the second half which we’ll talk about but in the first half in particular when we saw Scotty Barnes pick and rolls as a ball handler we saw the driveing kick opportunities we saw the floor spacing we saw the kickouts to OG we saw the

Kickouts to Trent and we’re kicking out to guys we can truly trust to knock down these open threes Trent is more trustworthy as a starter for some reason and you know despite maybe not being super efficient today three of8 from three just more consistency from Trent

Is bound to come with this lineup and more OPP opportunities to hit those open threes are going to come rather than him creating tough shots for himself OG has been inconsistent but found a degree of consistency today with a 26-point knight leading the way 11 of 16 from the field
