Now before you crucify me, I love Go, and he’s the 4th highest paid mascot for a reason, I just think Go’s costume is a little dated. It originally made sense in the 80s when it was just some guy, but now that he’s such a huge part of the home games and atmosphere around the team I’d like to see him get some love in the visual department.
The gorilla suit is iconic, but at the end of the day it’s a party city costume with a jersey/tshirt on it, and for what I feel like is such a huge part of the teams identity it feels like it hasn’t been given a ton of attention.
A cool concept I would like to see is Go get a more mascot-esque in design similar to the heavy hitters like Rocky, Benny, and Buzz
In theory it wouldn’t be too drastic of a shift, just beef up the costume’s arms and legs with a better fabric/fur, maybe give him a full kit? Like jersey/tshirt, shorts, and exaggerated hoop shoes.
As for the head I think a great starting point would be to take the logo on his current shirt (the second photo) and make it into a mascot head, I feel it is just cartoony enough while still encapsulating part of Go’s history for it to work.
Overall this isn’t a big deal, but something I think could be cool to see. Either way I still love Go and hope to see that funky monkey celebrate a ring soon.

I feel like maybe it has to do with how easy it is to move around in. I’m super unfamiliar with other mascots, but are they as agile and athletic as Go? Just a thought

Absolutely not. Gorilla is perfect as is and all the other crap mascots would improve by being more like him.
Unpopular opinion but I’m not attached to the gorilla. He could be out sick for a year and I’d barely notice
Hell no. The gorilla is unique because he’s one of the only mascots that doesn’t look like a mascot, just a dude in a gorilla costume. If they made him look like every other mascot I wouldn’t like him as much
