Kinda sucks Woj had to scoop him on his own announcement. Love you always, Ricky!

He’s Ricky Rubio, he’s not like anyone else

[Krawczynski’s tweet](https://twitter.com/JonKrawczynski/status/1742965770542330146) basically sums up my feelings. Kid just lit up the court with energy.

He didn’t start his first ten games of his career, seven of which were home games. I didn’t go to any of those games so I can’t imagine what it was like live, but over broadcast you could hear the arena begin to hum as Ricky made his way to the scorer’s table. Wolves’ fans just loved him instantaneously and they were rewarded with heart, flash, and joy seldom found in Target Center.

    Be well, Ricky

Probably should’ve shouted out all the die-hard MN fans who loved him even though he shouldve been Steph Curry. Oh well.

Pretty cool that Ricky and Rudy played on the same team together too. Would’ve been amazing if we could’ve brought him back for one last season with all his former teammates. I hope he recovers with all the mental health stuff he’s going through

I mean…..I’ll say it. He was a disappointment. I don’t really get the fan attachment.

Hate to see him being down, but I’ve been there myself and it’s cool to see him address his mental health head on and prioritize it.

Obviously we are all wishing him the best.

The league is now infinitely less handsome

I can’t think of a Minnesota athlete who I wanted to see be successful more than I did Ricky. He unfortunately came to the Wolves at just a really dysfunctional time.

Kinda sounds like he was contemplating suicide. That would be awful, if true. My heart goes out to Ricky.

If his shot would have ever developed, we would have ~~won a cham~~ … (*thinks about the teams he was on*) … made the playoffs a few times, at least!

  12. Damn, yea it sounds like he may have been contemplating suicide or some other terrible act. I am really happy he decided to get help and if retiring is what is best for his mind, I am extremely happy he has done so. Would have been devastating if Rubio went out like that. We all want him to be happy. Sounds like the dude still knows how to make the right play, well done Rubio, and best wishes!

“A basket make one guy happy; an assist, two guys happy.” — Ricky Rubio on draft night. Without getting into who we didn’t draft, or what Ricky did or didn’t do in his time here, I appreciate Ricky being part of our history. The excitement to have him joining our team was palpable. Thanks for the memories, Ricky, and all the best to you on your mental health journey.
