Lol I don’t know how you guys aren’t surprised by this. The whole country never votes for all star. The most support they had was right after the championship. Since then we’ve struggled to get our guys to even show up on the top 10. With how bad they’ve been the last 4 years it’s hardly surprising the casual fans aren’t even paying attention to anything to do with the team.
I honestly think he’ll be a reserve all star tbh, but let’s still pump up the votes for him. He deserves to be in the all star game this year!

People conflate the Raptors being Canada’s only team with this assumption that the entire country is supporting them. That’s far from being the case. People need to accept that.
Also, all-star voting isn’t really that important to all basketball fans anyway. I usually forget to do it, and even if I do remember it is feels like a waste of time since there’s no real incentive for me to actually login and fill out a ballot.

Fans should not get to vote for all-stars. I say this because people use them to compare player accolades, which is bullshit. One All-NBA is worth 10 all-stars.
Even if we only contribute to the starters, it’s just not right. The average fan (myself included) is severely biased and not very well informed.
Other voters (media + coaches?) can then be swayed by the terrible lists we produce such as this.

The All-Star game has been a popularity contest since forever.
I do remember back then there waz no tweets or casting vote over the internet.
The NBA had a partnership with McDonalds where they kept ballots there and other restaurants , movie theatres and other various places so fans can vote.
But it’s been a popularity contest from the beginning until a little while back where fans votes only account for so much and the rest is decided by coaches ?
I could be wrong but is that how it works from what I remember because I forgot who it waz but he got a crazy amount of votes or something ridiculous. so the NBA stepped in and fan voting counts but not all of it is up to them.
