Don’t get him pls. Our spacing will be ruined and an inefficient player plays the role Rj did again. Just get me bench scorers

spurs fans/less mad hawks fans seem to think that the biggest problem with his defense is that he’s a gambler not a lockdown guy. isn’t that pretty much what DDV’s been excelling with in his run in the starting 5?

think we could actually be a good defensive fit. if his shooting holds up he could play next to Bruns part time and run the second unit the rest of the time. idk, it’s a gamble but i think it might be worth taking.

I don’t see why this sub is against adding a 3rd option scorer. Lets say we get Murray, it solves the bench problem by giving us a guy who can run that unit when Brunson is off the court.

And it also gives us insurance on nights that Randle or Brunson don’t have it going, that we have another guy who can get us a bucket. Right now we only have two guys on the whole roster who can, which might be working while both are hot in the regular season, but would definitely seem like a potential limiting factor in the playoffs.

Depends on the cost, but we need some depth badly and he could be a better option than most available options

  6. Murray is a good player but we need a superstar if we want to be closer to the top of the EC rankings.

I made the post about Murray + Bogdon. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified to mess with the starters right now. Honestly if I had my preference I would see about just getting Bogdon or Brogdon.

  8. Idk how well he fits but. Brunson played off ball in Dallas and I could see them stager Brunson and Murray so that one is one the floor at all times. We’ll see.

If you can get Murray for mostly picks, you do it. He’s a solid piece with potential to grow. 38% from 3 is not too shabby.

  10. I just don’t like the fit with Brunson on the floor. Murray would kill the great spacing the current starting lineup has. I think it would be a better move to trade Fournier and a protected pick for a bench guard like Rozier or Borgdon to add a true sixth man to run the bench unit.

Some of these comments remind me of before Brunson signed. He’s too small, can’t play d, is unproven. Murray fits this team well. He’s long, can defend, is ascending as a 3 point shooter, and can create his own shot. Plus can play off ball, and be the primary ball handler. I like the starting lineup of Brunson, Murray, Randle, og, and hartenstein or mitch.

  12. I straight up don’t want him on my team because of last summer when all those clips of him disrespecting dudes and bouncing balls off their heads and shit came out. Seems like a bad lockerroom influence, and he’s been shit on the Hawks. He’d probably be better under a defensive-first coach like Thibs, but I really don’t like the dude as a person lol.

A 20 point scorer who shoots 38% from three and is a good defender, fuck yeah we want him

Edit and his contract is very team friendly

  14. Underrated thing about Murray is that he honestly makes it easier to get a future super star. We’d shed grimes and fourniers contracts and add Murray at $30m a year. If something nuts happens like booker or doncic become available at some point, you now have a $30m contract to help make the trade work. Pair that with josh hart or Mitch and you at least get the salaries to match

Yes we may have to give up 2 firsts for murray but we still have plenty available.

  15. FlockingPigeons

Fact of the matter is that the Knicks need to use Fournier’s contract to acquire talent otherwise its a waste of salary match. If its not Fournier now it becomes Mitch, Hart… or Dejounte, etc in the future for a big deal. They need keep making incremental talent upgrades and I don’t think a 6th man(Brogdon) has more value than a former all star/all defense selection does around the league. I think Dejounte fits enough in the short term. He and Brunson can function off ball. The lack of a secondary ball handler is one of the key reasons the Knicks lost to the Heat last playoffs. A reasonably priced Dejounte move keeps the Knicks flexible for the future.

DJ isn’t a slamdunk but he’s worth the gamble. He has the tools to be a star here and to be that 2nd playoff scorer like he showed last playoffs against MIA.

  17. action_nick

DDV has been deadly from 3 with the starters and he plays great off the ball, to me this is all about the price. If we still have enough after to this to trade for a real superstar if the opportunity presents itself I’m down.

Fournier, Grimes, 2-3 picks. Lets get it done next week. Can always package him again in the offseason to get a star as well since his salary is $30M.
