Lakers need another dude like this. Not saying it should be Dwight… but always nice to have a goon on the squad to get inside of other player’s heads.

He was so crucial to that Denver series. I don’t think I’ve seen Jokic as frustrated and stifled as the minutes that Dwight was on him. Dwight fucking turned it on for the playoffs and made some big contributions in small ways

  2. Thomas bryant was actually doing solid last year with his quick hands and bothering him. It was only for second half of regular season game, but it was still notable

Some folks tell we don’t need a backup C because he isn’t going to play more than 15 min most nights, but it is completely wrong. While this player is really not going to play many minutes most games, it is the utmost importance to have a player like that. There is absolutely no way we win it all in 2020 without our 2 centers even if they didn’t play much most playoffs series.

  4. Well Hayes supposed to be that dude 🤣🤣☠️☠️

We should’ve got Daniel Theis and Porzingis man

Dwight was a 3x DPOY. There aren’t many dudes like him even at the end of his career

  7. Unfortunately most backup Cs would get cooked by Jokic and other elite centers anyway. Dwight is a previous dpoy, he’s a lot better of a defender than anybody we could pick up now.

  8. For players like Embiid, Giannis, Jokic and LeBron, you gotta return physical aggression with physical aggression. Initiate the contact with them early and don’t let them establish position or make them fight for it.

Dwight is washed but a player in his mold would
Help. Too bad theres not any bigs like him now. Dwight is a huge reason why Jokic struggled vs LAL in 2020. He allowed AD and Bron to roam off ball and disrupt passing lanes b/c he could be the primary defender on Jokic and didn’t require help.

This is a huge reason why i wanted them to go after Hartenstein these last 2-3 seasons

We could use Dwight as a backup and playoff spot for the C spot

We really need to call this guy idc what the issues are he can help us.

Wouldn’t mind having Dwight on a vet min. Just need someone a lil nasty

I know that this is going to get downvoted severely and is unrealistic at all but……….. just for Jokic……….. what about Draymond Green? I mean in the playoffs he’s a damn near offensive zero but just as a body to throw on Jokic? He’s going to run at the opportunity

Dwight and Boogie might be cooked but surely they’re better than Hayes right?

Lakers need a center who is as close to 2020 Dwight Howard as much as possible.

Remember, Pelinka let him walk for nothing. Vet min was his rate lmao. Rob just wanted a full rebuild outside of Bron, and AD, and the results since 2020 bubble were disappointing up until the WCF.

Dwight was a bit of loose cannon, and didn’t have a lot to offer at that point, but he helped muscle the Lakers to a title. He’s probably dead weight now, but the Lakers really need a true 5 more than a new coach, or any other position. Mostly because of Denver, and there are several teams with good centers that are most likely to come out of the East.

If we could get that level of play from Dwight again we should waive Wood and go for it. Having Dwight and even Javale to switch onto other bigs* was extremely necessary as it forced the opposing teams 4 to guard AD

Disclaimer: Just like you’re not saying we need Dwight back, I’m also not saying Castleton will ever be near his level, but they could at least try training him up

It’s a waste of potential just sitting there. Even if it’s just to go in, collect 5 fouls, and tap back out. He’s slow, but so is the Joker, and he also has great court vision
