It would make watching a losing season much more tolerable if we knew we were losing for a good reason.

Ron Holland szn?

Real question bc I don’t watch college ball, but is there a prospect or two that stands out and would be immediate fits with our team?

How in the hell do you convince Trae to stay through a rebuild?
childishgames
I genuinely think we can’t possibly get worse unless we trade Trae or JJ
Atl_baller
We did that for years and what did it get us. Spend the money and get a Star player to help Trae.
chealey21
If you assume Trae and JJ are the core of the team, what kind of player(s) do we need to complement them?
Wildvalor
I’m not completely agianst it for this year because we own our pick next year, and honestly the market for players to put beside Trae isn’t that great right now.
Any notable free agents in the next year or so? Haven’t followed it much.
BackgroundWalk7236
If this is the case, we better put Trae in for some mysterious elective procedure and tank the rest of the year. Honestly, at this point, we are off to a pretty solid start.

All it took was Kyle Kuzma thinking he was prime Lebron

A soft rebuild would be ideal, especially since we’re losing anyways. This current roster just doesn’t work. Why not change it up?

The hawks are basically putting half a season and a few more ping pong balls into Traes future. I hope that everyone understands this. They don’t have their first round picks after this next draft so they have one chance to nail this and also have their draft picks this year that have shown nothing to give Trae and the team some hope. This might be the only way to try and rejuvenate this team, but the team could really be a year and some change from Trae asking out. He has like two years left and then an early termination IIRC.
This is what the hawks have backed themselves into and so far, I haven’t seen enough from Ressler, nepo son, Fields, or Quin to think it will work well. They are basically banking on Jalen to take a Maxey type leap next year and that’s a huge ask.
The_Truth_Hurts_Yu
Talk about blowing it. This is what you get for treating JC like yall did every year.
Ice2jc
Honestly how lit would it be if we got the #1 pick? We’d probably fuck it up, but we’d have a great time between the lottery and draft night.
hollow-ataraxia
Lmao Kevin O’Connor’s stupid ass in the comments of that tweet talking about how Jalen is the only untouchable like we’re trading an all-NBA guard for table scraps. Pretty certain then that he won’t be voting for Trae on any all-NBA teams this year then, probably Derrick White instead just to be fake woke like the other dumbasses at The Ringer
WeaknessOld1265
Hawks tanking on bad draft years is how we got to the place we are now.
I’m all on board for a soft reset of the roster to make, you know, an actual team and not a collection of contracts.
