Im half of one foot out the door on second option Tyrese Maxey only because he fails to be the next man up when Embiid is out
A second option should be good regardless of Embiids availability and I get there are off nights but it’s starting to feel like many this season are off nights for him, too many (at least the ones when Embiid is out)
His shooting crashing down hard when Embiid is gone is very disheartening
Crazy to lose at home against the Jazz with a 23:6 TO advantage
maxey has such a weak mental game for someone who preaches confidence. refusing to take a three in the last five min of the game shows you hes not ready to be counted on
I know Embiid didn’t play, but losing two nights in a row at home when the second game is the fucking Jazz is inexcusable. This team being this dependent on Joel doesn’t bode well at all.
Bucks are currently getting smacked by the rockets. So that is nice.
The sixers are not true contenders this year. They’re not good enough to beat Boston. If they can be patient and not RUSH to just add anything and overpay for anyone they can get there just next year but if the fans get our dumb owners to force stupid moves im gonna be so angry. The sixers are OVER PERFORMING. Most of you thought they wouldn’t even win 50 games!
We need better bench players not stars
Tobias is so fucking awful and he fucks us so bad man. If he played like a 40 million player we could trade him with all our assets for Dejounte Murray and Bogdan from the Hawks but he averages less points than both of them so I don’t see how we could pull it off. Unless we get 1 or 2 more frps somehow.
This is where we really miss Harden. Last year our win % was better in games Embiid was out than when he played. We really struggling this season when Jo can’t go.
Someone kidnap Lauri before they leave
I’ve said this before the season even started, but this team is the worst equipped we’ve been for when Embiid misses games in a long time. Last year harden won us a ton of games himself when Joel was out, and before that we stayed even ish without Joel but with Ben
It’s not a coincidence Tyrese has woeful games when Joel’s injured before going back to borderline All NBA numbers with him playing. He’s an elite complementary player, but doesn’t really have the handle or foul drawing that other elite guards have to break defenders down when they’re the main guy. The rest of our team is just straight role players, and can’t be relied to do anything. I know Tobi was out today, but usually he doesn’t show up in these situations so I don’t even know if we’re missing much
Hoping we get a hot shooting stretch from Maxey soon. He’s down to 37% from 3 after this game which is poor from his standard.
Batum and Maxey both have lost their three ball + missing the other three starters. Wanna say this was inevitable when embiid was ruled out but the doomer in me says the wheels are falling off
I know I will get downvoted into oblivion but the long and short of it is that this team just isn’t good
Man we really should have traded for OG huh lol
People saying Maxey isn’t a true #2 option because when the team has literally no one else on the team that can dribble and create their own shot without Embiid he wasnt efficient..better go look at Lillard vs Maxey against Houston.
Our biggest needs are interior defence, rebounding and shooting.
Gotta make a move man, they would be punting this entire season otherwise. Love Lauri Markkanen’s overall game, he fits great into this team and a trade with the Jazz could also net you Jordan Clarkson as a bench scorer if you send Tobias Harris packing(which they should).
The Jazz struggled to get to the rim when Bamba was in. Bamba clearly disrupted the Jazz attack. It’s a damn shame he stinks because B-Ball, although disruptive, doesn’t deter teams from attacking the rim. Good offensive game by B-Ball, but he’s really struggling to defend the rim and rebound on D.
Why can’t Maxey hit threes anymore
Feels like Maxey has been cold for months now.
the team is good enough to maintain a top 4 seed, but if we don’t go all in this year and waste another year of Embiid’s prime it will be brutal. Tobias is at his highest value due to his expiring contract, Morris is also expiring as well. Free agency isn’t looking promising either so the only real option is a big trade to change this team around. Embiid is a 50 win guy by himself but things need to change if they want to compete in the playoffs.
To be expected missing 3 starters
So much for Maxey being an elite shooter
Dogshit effort two nights in a row.
Please get Markkanen
Obviously no one watched the game, so I’m just going to have to step in here and give some actual takes.
Tyrese Maxey: Yes, his shot is off. No, he did not have a bad game. Contrary to some folks, Maxey has actually showed off elite level finishing over the past few games and it continued tonight. Routinely driving at the heart of the defense and getting multiple bigs in foul trouble.
If you hear or read anybody say “Tyrese Maxey can’t create his own shot”, just shake your head and move on.
Now, touching on his outside shot. A lot of them are rimming out, or to use Kate’s words: Just short. There’s a number of reasons, but the biggest reason is the immensely difficult shots, quality and quantity that he has to take. Teams can zone up/trap the 76ers because nobody is reliable.
So when you count on ONE dude to be the entirety of your 3pt offense, it isn’t going to go well. Also 9 AST and good playmaking in general, but yeah Maxey is going to hear the WIP crowd, just gotta ignore them.
Paul Reed: Another guy with an outstanding game was Paul Reed. I liked the aggressiveness offensively and on the glass. I thought he played every bit up to the challenge.
Kelly Oubre: Re-sign him. Just do. He’s just too good. His defense is solid, you can live with sporadic offense if your defense is as good as Oubre’s, what a find.
KJ Martin with his best game as a 76er, but he fucked it up with dumb fouls.
The rest? Forgettable.
Bamba is so bad
Embarrassing, we lost two games at home against teams we should be coasting against. Awful performances both nights. We got outplayed by both teams from minute one all the way until the end.
The only one who can be proud of his performance over the course of 48 hours is Kelly. No one else can get away with this bullshit. Nurse better be making the whole team run suicides tomorrow, inexcusable level of effort.
No Embiid? BIG PROBLEM!!!
oh no we suck again
