Man, you know how nice it is for us to win close games down the stretch solely because we have the best player on the floor?

We’ve lost to other teams in the crunch time for that very specific reason for YEARS now, good god is it so sweet to finally be on the other end of it where we can simply win games because we got THE guy. And he’s simply just better than you.

Paolo Banchero is that guy man.

  2. Blading_at_45

Paolo’s growth in year 2 has been remarkable. He’s already established himself as the leader. Well spoken and a true franchise player.

  3. BrotherBroseph

If Paolo ain’t a All-Star.. snub of the century

  4. DumbestInTheThread

I think we should look into trading some of our bench players for a solid point gaurd

  5. Which_Giraffe8614

Guys, I’m from Georgia (country) so I’m Lil bit biased. What do you think about Goga?

  6. bllr32423

Paolo Banchero is an all-star. Make sure you guys keep voting for him

“I just be in the gym” – P5 postgame

    (Yeah- We can tell)

Huge question for me is how much of Paolo playing like this is due to him stepping up with Franz out vs just being due to our deeper bench guys providing better spacing.

A very, very bad Cole Anthony game, but his defense on Murray in the corner is what sealed this game. Even with all those mistakes, Cole still added 10 points 9 boards 5 assists. I’ll take that as my worst game of the season.

Chuma’s defense on Trae gave this team just enough to have an opportunity to win.

Paolo’s offense in the clutch has been amazing since the latest injury wave began. He’s in a great groove. Great touch on those little midrange jumpers. He’s playing at his speed, most of the time.

Great games from Houstan and Mo Wagner. Houstan may have solidified a bigger role

  11. Dometalican_90

…is Cole ok? He had a good game against Denver but he’s had more rough games recently.

Houstan, my goodness, I was not expecting his performance at all. Maybe he’s the backup SG we’ve been begging for?

  12. So glad that game is over and the team pulled out the dub. Horrendously officiated game, made it almost unwatchable, especially the Trey Young flopping garbage. Good games from Banchero, Caleb, Biz, Suggs. The bench was brutal to watch tonight.

  13. It’s amazing people still slander Houstan in this sub.

  14. zackarykapowski

Get a point guard and play Houstan the Gary minutes. Let’s go!!!

  15. after a sloppy 1st half goga really stepped up in the 2nd.
he had 14 rebounds and 7 of them were offensive also 11 points 2 blocks and 3 assists

  16. Paolo’s last 10 games:

    – 35/10/4 (3 steals, 1 block)

    – 32/10/11 (3 steals)

    – 43/4/5

    – 27/12/6 (2 steals, 1 block)

    – 28/9/7 (1 block)

    – 29/10/4 (1 steal, 1 block)

    – 19/9/4 (1 steal, 1 block)

    – 24/3/8 (1 steal, 1 block)

    – 34/7/4 (1 steal)

    – 23/7/4 (1 block).

Good for an average of 29.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists. All-Star this man.

  17. Blading_at_45

These last two games without Franz has actually helped Paolo and the Magic. Of course we need Franz in the long term, but my point is Paolo needs to be the alpha dog. He was sharing too much with Franz offensively. Paolo needs to be the 1, and Franz #2. Not 1A and 1B.

  18. Far_Football7008

We need to be better as a fanbase man. The negativity towards Cole Anthony is so fascinating. Every NBA player has poor offensive nights, it’s about what u do besides that to make a difference. He grabbed 9 BOARDS. Forced DM into 3 stops in OT and a TO. Stop being spoiled. Remember when our backup PG was Jerion Grant? GG go Magic. I love the culture change and as a fanbase we need to embrace that too.

  19. This team, and Paolo, continue to amaze me. Caleb has earned Gary Harris’ minutes.

  20. Son_of_Diaw

Shout out Chuma and Caleb, Chuma with the defense and Caleb with the offense, staying ready

  21. misterdave75

Amazing game by P5. He just takes the team on his shoulders. Caleb has emerged as an improtant rotation guy. Fultz still isn’t ready and I’m starting to wonder if WCj and Kelle will be here longterm.

  22. beat the knicks – they make a trade the next day

beat the hawks – we’ll see tomorrow

  23. I couldn’t have handled that OT loss after the Jags shit their pants today. Good stuff

  24. safensorry

    Paolo has been on one!
If we had a little better spacing I bet his efficiency and assists would skyrocket too.

  25. SpideyUdaman

Not about to let Tmac down, even though we had to go OT.

Paolo confident in taking the reins now. Literally a knight in a Magic jersey.

Houstan coming in like we called him about a problem.

Fultz comeback is not the worst. Not making the fts tho is not good. Some speculate the dreaded tos flare up. It’s a rational guess. He’s just come back after what seemed like months, I’ll personally excuse that. He’s on a small minutes restriction too so that’s good.

What happened to Hawks tho? If hawks was a person, we’d be telling him “you look like sh*t”. They always had the poise of a first rounder. Maybe difficult schedule. They did give us a hard time.

  26. Drewbacca_Hrrrgrgrar

It baffles me how Houstan doesn’t start over Black

  27. Blading_at_45

I really think Caleb can be the x-factor for our playoff run. We need someone who can consistently knock down 4-5 threes per game and draw the attention of defenders. I think he’s definitely earning more minutes, even when the team is fully healthy.

  28. orlandomade

    Couple things:
    Black didn’t get many minutes?
We desperately need Caleb to keep it up
    Paolo is him obviously
    Fultz shot looks bad bad
    Goga sometimes plays too timid
Cole is not a lead guard and is a very poor decision maker. Bench suits him well

  29. MF at the postgame presser now. Did anyone ask him yet about the shooting? They’re asking him some BS about college football, which quite frankly, no one gives a hoot about down here unless it’s the local teams.

  30. Nin9RingHabitant

Less Chuma minutes and more Trevelin please. Thanks.

  31. Blading_at_45

Jeff Weltman should be the executive of the year. He absolutely nailed the 21 and 22 drafts, found Mo and Goga from the scrap heap, and Houstan was a great second round pick.

  32. needed 1 bucket from bum hawks to get my magic win + over 228 bet lol

    i love cal3b tho

  33. GoApeShirt

Assuming Fultz works back into the starting lineup, the second 5 is starting to look fierce.

AB, Houstan, Chuma, Wagner and Anthony. Ingles gets his whenever needed.

  34. Caleb continues to play well and it makes it a little easier to cope with Jett being in the G League for me. I trust the FO and I trust the player development we have in place now, which by the way, I can’t believe I am saying after years and years of guys just stalling in development.
