Well let’s get it over with ladies and gentlemen here we are time this season this time this was uh you know them really just finally hammering down the into the pie of it is it is flush in there pelicans have officially beaten the king straight times chance they meet

Again just been domination they didn’t even have sign tonight on theel side so there’s really not much of any excuse I mean the Kon rapt of rest and I leaned over to our friend and I said hey man this is the kind of performance where you know it’s it’s it’s

Almost this is the kind of game that happens before a move is made where it just it feels h because how many times can we do this up and down of this team takes two steps forward just to take a step back year it’s really frustrating I

The team has what 20 wins on the season 21 WIS on the season uh 21 wins on the season they’ve some quity opponents but there’s just too many out fifth time this season the Kings have been down by 30 plus in a game and the

Third time they down by 40 plus in a game that’s just unacceptable like that’s not something that that great teams have like and that’s how you know that there’s just something fundamentally wrong with this team because there’s there’s no reason why if you’re uh you know one of the best teams in the

It’s justac there was a point where this game was pushing toward pointal was 49 just an embarrassing performance really I mean I don’t really want to talk about the game at my Safari besides the Costco credit card that I signed up for in the quarter shout out time I got 10 Pelicans

Facts just random facts about Pelicans because I honestly do think that would be a better use of our time then oh okay even better you can’t hear me that’s awesome that is awesome there you go that should be better there you go now you can hear me

Nice and clear you can hear me complain um there you go so yeah I mean the Kings uh really just didn’t have it tonight and uh just just embarrassing when you get beat by a team four times in a year that’s that’s just you can’t have that

You just absolutely can’t have that and what an embarrassing uh night for the Kings really came it came out of nowhere because yeah I thought they put together a really uh really hard performance against the Toronto Raptors and then the Orlando game the other night as well was

A hard-fought match and he kind of felt like this team was getting close to turning a corner and uh just just to take this major major step back against this team you can officially say like the king KS cannot beat the Pelicans in a playoff series there’s no reason to

Believe that this Kings team will get any better uh for a playoff series I don’t think it’s a one trade away thing either I mean this is this is scary this is getting to scary scary points where clearly this Kings team has clear and obvious holes that need to be addressed

And uh I really do think that this goes on to Monty McNair in terms of the ball is now in his court I mean again they I think this team has shown enough times this season that they have clear and obvious weaknesses when it comes to

Teams with length and size uh the Kings need to be able to do that because they they just didn’t have it tonight and I do Wonder also um I I don’t want to you know make an excuse for him but I definitely think dearen Fox is dealing

With some sort of injury uh we we heard Malik monk talk the other night about how you know Fox is gonna have bumps and bruises like he does right now and we’re going to have to pick him up through those times and I think we all just kind

Of let that slide by the slide by the wayside a little bit and didn’t really give it uh the amount of tension that it it probably deserves and I I’m now reading that as dear was what like one of 10 tonight from the field and really hasn’t looked the same from the

Perimeter that he did to start the season I wonder if he’s he’s dealing with something it feels like he’s uh you know he’s he’s had a couple different games in this past week or two stretch where he’s had a shoulder thing today he was grabbing his hip I saw him grabbing

His his uh arm I think in the Memphis game a couple weeks back clearly he’s going through something right now and he uh he he needs he needs some people to uh he he needs some teammates to step up right now and it’s it’s just it’s a wasteland

Right now I mean nobody could knock down Shots tonight Keegan uh couldn’t knock down threes dearon couldn’t knock down threes Malik couldn’t knock down shots um it was it was just a rough go and uh yeah I I really don’t have many positive things to say uh for for tonight’s game

Keegan and dearen don’t really have to start with the ball pressure but it just really hasn’t looked great for Duarte uh Mike Brown really hasn’t been playing him starter minutes he’s playing him in the starter spot but I don’t think DW’s finished over 20 minutes uh since being

Inserted into the starting lineup so um really just just not much not much there uh from dwarte tonight I don’t think Kevin herder is going to be reinserted into the starting lineup but uh definitely just don’t think that the dwarte experiments uh working out something that might have uh you know

Worked out tonight I guess you could say with the absence of Trey L Sasha venkov was able to sneak his way into the rotation and I thought give some pretty productive minutes especially when it came uh to the offensive end of things I definitely liked what I saw from Sasha

Tonight some some good cuts of course you’re always going to see him take uh or be unafraid to take some perimeter jumpers thought it looked good uh for the most part he’s always going to have a couple that have you scratching your head but he’s just a dude who’s

Unafraid to pull at any moment so I I liked what I saw from Sasha didn’t think it was anything that’s like hey this dude absolutely needs to be the in the rotation but it is a little bit curious why it’s it’s so hard for him to find minutes um especially when Javale McGee

Frankly is is just getting thrown minutes left and right and I I don’t seem to understand what makes him deserving of it I thought Alex Len has played well since returning from his ankle injury though we’ve only seen him like once or twice since then to me it

Just makes sense to put Alex out there I I don’t think that’s the reason why the kings are are losing games like they are tonight but um just just just an interesting uh kind of nugget I guess if you will um I’m trying to think if there’s anything really else from

Tonight’s game sabonis continues put together good performances I mean he’s definitely been on a a run we detailed that after last game uh 17 and 10 tonight again even on bad nights um domas is still going to be able to provide you with a little bit of

Something just with how he plays but man I mean yeah it’s it’s pretty Doom and Gloom and I understand why all those out there in Kingsland would definitely um you know be upset and be questioning where this thing is going because while yes there have been some good and I

Think it’s it’s a major positive and we can’t forget the past of this team and where this team comes from when it comes to uh you know just not being successful 20 wins usually would happen post All-Star Break It Feels Like For for most King Seasons but that that doesn’t

Mean that we should just be okay with what we’re seeing because um you know I I think it’s clear that this the success is not sustainable like I I think that this team can you know they can be good they can keep their head above water

They’re at the very least a playin team but I think that people want to see this team kind of take another step I don’t know if it has to be going to a completely different level like I think some people want to in terms of bringing

In another star but you got to feel like this team is is making strides in the right direction and um just when it was kind of feeling like yeah dear is is adding a three-point shot to his game and Keegan Murray is is adding so much inside the arc and defensively again it

Just there’s there’s these Knights just keep coming up to ruin the momentum it just be nice for the Kings right now as they’re playing weaker opponents to be able to string some games together man like get get five or six in a row where you’re feeling really confident you

Start to better understand what it is that that makes you a a good team because right now it just feels like the nights where they’re good or nights where they’re able to harness what they what they were able to put together last year and I don’t know if this current

Squad has really found their identity yet and uh it’s it’s just it’s really frustrating and it’s it’s really hard to watch because when it looks bad it looks really really bad with this team and uh I I think that’s the problem and I think it’s it’s going to continue to happen I

Don’t see uh nights like this stopping happening anytime soon it just feels like this at this point is kind of the inconsistency is kind of baked into this team which is uh a very real problem but it’s not like it’s not like it’s broken again like this is a a good

Team that’s got some good wins and you know when they play well more specifically when I mean you know Daren pretty much had nothing tonight I mean I’m seeing here Daren had three points at the end of the third did he finish with three he finished with three points

Like it’s just it it’s not this isn’t a good representation of what this team can be but uh you know we kind of saw versions of this early in the season when Daren actually was out they just need Daren to be a superstar in order for this thing to to look right

And that’s that’s really Step One is is uh is dearen looking like an MVP and if he’s not going to look like an MVP on a given night how how do the Kings win can they win without Daron Fox looking incredible we saw it the other night uh

Was that the Orlando game or the Toronto game um they’re all kind of merging into my head these days but there was that night where Daren didn’t have it Malik had the 37 point I think that was against the magic where Malik had 37 domas had a big night and and they were

Able to kind of pick up the slack where where de couldn’t really bring it and uh I don’t know I mean it’s it’s not if if Daren Fox isn’t going to play well in general you you probably feel like the Kings aren’t going to have success in

The playoffs but man I don’t know is it really does it really have to be on this guy’s back every single night to put up near 30 for this team to even have a chance it shouldn’t be like that that’s not how this team is built this team is

Built with almost winning as a as a group again there’s there’s tons of teams out there that do lean on Superstars and pretty much rely on their Superstars every night to put up 30 points the Kings really shouldn’t be built that way of course it’s nice to

Have a dude score 30 points but how many times last year would the Kings have uh what they had uh I think it was my favorite stat it was like seven 30o scorers last year uh at the end of games this this team is kind of meant to every

Single night keep you guessing with who could go off and it doesn’t feel like there’s that variability anymore where it just kind of feels like it’s it’s dearen it’s Malik it’s sabonis and you might get a Keegan performance in there you might get like a a Trey Lyles

Hitting a couple threes or something like that but you’re really not getting um you’re you’re not getting Chris Duarte having random nights of flashes you’re not getting uh Sasha venko having random big nights Kevin herder isn’t having random big nights Harrison’s been having a lot more of those those middle

15 to 17-point games which is great the Kings need that from him every night but they’re not getting that game one 30-point pop you know once a month or something like that it it just feels like the Firepower the overall Firepower isn’t there for this offense and then on

The defensive end man oh man what did the Pelicans end up shooting tonight I believe this is the third night in or third game game and four uh in which the Kings have allowed opponents to shoot over 50% oh my gosh my goodness yeah over 50% the Pelicans shot 61% from the

Field um just just embarrassing I mean again like you’re not going to win many games uh without playing defense and this is why Mike Brown has made it such a a harping point at the beginning of this season to to just rely on or not

Rely but to focus more uh on winning on the defensive end because that’s that’s going to be what this team has to do at some point is get stops against teams that are good at making buckets like yes the Pelicans do present a lot of

N match up nightmares but I mean this is this is just your run-of-the-mill playoff team really the Pelicans aren’t anything special imagine going against Devin Booker and Kevin Durant in a playoff series when they’re going Full Tilt and it’s possibly an elimination game scenario you think the do you trust

This Kings team to get three stops down the stretch in that kind of situation I don’t right now I just don’t and uh that that’s a real problem and that’s going to be something that I think this team is going to have to address they might

Eventually I don’t think you can do it in in the middle of the season but I do think that there’s going to have to be an offseason uh where this team makes a major shift in the same way that they brought in you know Malik Monk and and Kevin

Herder you know they made a just a huge uh shift in in their in their personnel in one offseason last year I think you’re gonna have to do something similar to that to kind of change how this team plays because I I think it’s a this the way this team

Plays and the Personnel they have it’s good for a regular season team it’s really fun but man I I just don’t know if it’s something consistent that you can rely on especially against some of the best teams in the league I just I don’t know if it’s it’s really something

And this is a night too where New Orleans didn’t even have Zion Williamson so this isn’t even New Orleans at their at their best this is them without a major piece and the Kings really couldn’t even stop Brandon Ingram or CJ McCollum tonight so I would have hated

To see what would have happened if Zion was out there uh incredibly incredibly disappointing how about I give y’all just a couple more actual Pelican facts since I did so much time trying to actually sift through which facts were were pointless not that the ones I gave you guys were super insightful but

Zenoff uh for the reasons I listed earlier just kind of checking in he knew he was probably going to play tonight with Trey being out with the ankle injury I don’t I still don’t know if Trey will be back on Tuesday I think that those ankle injuries when you tweak

It the way he did I kind of feel like that’s a week week and a half long process just because it it’s so tough to kind of get that stability back I kind of twisted my ankle in a similar way like two or three years ago and not that

Me and Trey lyes are on the same athletic ability but uh it just I remember thinking like it structurally feels fine but uh it’s just it’s a big mental block to kind of get over and um you know it just it doesn’t really feel

100% for about a week and a half so uh I would guess that Trey probably is is gon to miss some games on this road trip as well I know they have a back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday against Detroit and Houston or Detroit and Charlotte um I guess he probably misses that but

That’s that’s just an assumption my two starss of the night is going to go to Kevin herder who finished off with 17 points a lot of those in the fourth quarter uh he didn’t really get hot from the perimeter but uh just kind of good to see Kevin knock down shots when he

Has had probably the worst season of his NBA career so far uh who knows maybe maybe uh that that’ll kind of get Kevin going and we just need him to hit a couple threes a night I mean if he’s going to be coming off the bench nowadays and playing 20 or so minutes

It’s it’s really just about Kevin herder coming in knocking down a three or two maybe he can get a runner but just really creating gravity uh I heard I think it was du Mo on with uh the athletic NBA show and talking about how really we we can think about Kevin

Herder almost possibly as as a trade uh not as a trade asset um or trade candidate but like almost as if we’re receiving a player at the trade deadline if Kevin herder can turn it around because we just haven’t had Kevin hder look like Kevin hder the entirety of

This season and so if he can just get back to what we think Kevin hder is as a player not even what he can be but just the the dude who played three seasons in Atlanta and played a really good season last year for this Sacramento Kings team

If they can just get a just get that guy and no more than that guy that’s a huge addition to this roster that we’re just not accounting for so um that you know for for all those who are got your pitchforks out and ready to move Kevin

Hder um and if he doesn’t get moved you’ll throw a fit just think hey if this thing goes well it can kind of be like adding a player that we just didn’t have so that’s one way of kind of flipping the the Kevin hder narrative um Yes actually to mushroom

Therapy the um the rebounds tonight were wild I don’t know what the what it finished with let me see what the rebounds finished with 51 25 um it was nuts I mean at the end of the first quarter I believe it was 22-6 I’m sorry it

15-4 at the end of the first half it was 29-9 and then at the end of the third it was 42- 17 I never in my life seen rebounding disadvantages like that um just just crazy and I mean sabonis is really the king’s only dominant rebounder so uh it’s kind kind of it’s

Kind of imperative that other guys uh work on on the glass and you know Mike Brown’s talked about that it’s big for Keegan to be bigger on the rebounding Department I’m going to blame Harrison Barnes for rebounds as well like he’s not somebody that you think or or consistently rely on

To so he should be always looking to do those other things those dirty work things the things that uh you know they say don’t show up in the Box Score but rebounds definitely are something that shows up in the Box Score I’d like to see HB rebound much more than he is I

Think he’s under three rebounds a game right now on the season there’s no reason for that HB is much better than that and he’s guarding a lot of forward so he should be near uh near where rebounds are happening so I I really don’t think that there’s an excuse for

That um let’s see here yeah I mean that’s that’s pretty much it y’all I’m honestly shocked that I was able to go 25 minutes on this atrocity of a basketball game if you even want to call it that uh it’s a Sunday night I have a
