> The Bulls continue to make former All-Star swingman Zach LaVine available on the trade market but are not, league sources say, looking to ship out multiple veterans and enter into a full-fledged rebuild.
> Potentially supporting such notions are the recent whispers that the Bulls have not completely ruled out using Lonzo Ball’s insurance-covered contract in a trade to add talent.
> Ball, who has been particularly missed by LaVine, last played in January 2022 and will miss this entire season because of ongoing knee issues. The 26-year-old holds a $21.4 million player option for next season that he is certain to exercise, but with 80 percent of Ball’s contract covered by league-provided insurance because he’s been out so long, Chicago wouldn’t be paying out nearly that much if it simply opts to keep Ball.
> Chicago likewise has the option to take on salary by trying to construct a deal with Ball’s contract and a trade partner that would be looking to lower its payroll by acquiring Ball and inheriting the Bulls’ insurance payments.
> The Bulls certainly aren’t known for such payroll-increasing moves, which inevitably invokes some believe-it-when-we-see-it skepticism, but it is a pathway for them to consider.

What team would want Ball?
Bro what are the Bulls even doing? They’re not making the playoffs, and the play-in isn’t an accomplishment if that’s your ceiling. Blow it up already.
So the Bulls are just gonna be satisfied with making the Play In and even if they make the Play Offs be bounced in the first round? It’s time to blow this thing up smh.
Every single Chicago sports team is so unserious
Bulls already have more wins than the Wizards, Hornets, Pistons, or Spurs will probably even get by the end of the year.
Even if you wanted to tank – it’s practically too late, and some of the teams you’re competing with to do so, are historically bad.
It’s clear the front office likes its young players and wants to keep solid vets around them to help them develop. As a fan/critic of the Bulls it’s your opinion if they are worth watching but it’s the direction.
60% of the time it works every time
The blow it up crew is not really taking into consideration that management has to balance what they can get, vs reinsdorfs expectation of ticket sales, and what the draft looks like in the next couple of years (which looks weak). I think you’re getting aging vets and an all in mindset that Coby is the piece to build around. I think the league looks at Detroit as a cautionary tale and you’re seeing more conservative approaches right now across the board.
There it is lol.
This franchise is such a fucking joke…. People stop going to the games and giving Jerry your money until they actually have a plan. This half ass bullshit they do is the absolute worst position to be in… every current tanking team has a better future than this franchise because they at least have a fucking direction. AK and Jerry are worthless
nothing will change until you shakeup the top. Need to get rid of Reinsdorf
Stop buying tickets to Bulls Games…
Fire AKME. I’ve seen enough.
Holding every player too long to get value for them is exactly what I expected from this front office. Looking forward to giving demar a Vuc style extension and then not being able to move him several years after they should’ve.
Being in the middle sucks.
This is what a go-nowhere organization looks like
Play-in champions 2023-2024!
Idiots.
Aiming for the play -in.
can’t wait for another play-in exit
Continuity is back baby!
At least trade DeMar for a PG or something
Oh fuck yeahhhh
It means the Bulls are going to run with Coby, Pat, & the young guys. Its not a rebuild since those are the guys we drafted with our lottery picks the past 5 years.
With that said, my guess is either Vuc or Zach has to get traded since they have both of them on extensions. DeRozen is on the final year of his contract so he isn’t going to get them much unless a contender wants him at the deadline for a title shot.
ive enjoyed this recent stretch but this is still stupid unless we can re-sign demar to an extremely friendly deal
if we don’t trade him, we likely either have to pay a 34 year old old-school player a lot of money over the new few years, or lose him for nothing lol
