Here’s Why the New Look New York Knicks Are TERRIFYING the NBA!

The New York Knicks are officially 4 and0 since they’re blockbuster trade for OG an anobi that stretch has included wins against two of the NBA’s best the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Philadelphia 76ers and if that wasn’t enough to tell you this trade has been an early success check out this series

Of tweets from Nicks Rider Tommy beer since the nanobi trade in the 138 minutes OG has been on the floor the Knicks have a defensive rating of 95.1 and a net rating of 29.6 in the 102 minutes OG has been on the bench the Knicks have a defensive rating of

127.5 and a net rating of minus 11.8 additionally OG is a plus 85 in his first four games as a Nick the plus minus stat measures a player’s impact on the game by calculating the change in the score while the player is on the court and whether it’s coincidence or

Not this entire Nicks Ro roster seems like it has hit another level since the anobi trade NBA leaders I’m talking about the whole league in plus minus so far this year include OG at number two but Isaiah hartenstein Jaylen Brunson Josh Hart and Julius Randall are in the

Top seven too safe to say the New York Knicks have looked like a whole new team since that trade with the Raptors so I want to talk about all that today real quick though my name is Troy and welcome to the half court report show some love

By dropping a like on this video and subs subscribe for some of the best NBA content you are going to find on YouTube Anon noi’s arrival in New York has symbolized what I would say a shift in team approach one that is much more on brand for coach Tom Tibido and his teams

A defensive first physical mindset that beats teams into submission even though OG is only averaging 12 points per game so far while in New York his defensive impact cannot be overlooked before acquiring anobi the Knicks were allowing an average of about 114 points per game that’s right around League average but

Since acquiring OG the Knicks are the second best defensive team in the league and holding their opponents to under 101 points per game Tibido praised Anan obi’s early impact following the Knick’s 36o drubbing of the Sixers he said your hustle can make up for a lot and that’s

Really what OG is doing each day he’ll get better and better and guys are starting to figure him out as well so that takes a little bit of time so tibs already likes OG better than cam reddish and Evan fornier that’s a win right but tibo’s point was perfectly Illustrated

In a win over the Bulls anobi scored just 11 points but was an impressive plus 35 when he was on the floor the impact that he has goes so much farther than what you see in the box score and he is going to continue to play better

As he gets more adjusted and comfortable with his new team the defensive versatility that OG brings to the table has shifted the dynamic of the roster too and that is allowing more Focus to be paid to that side of the floor the presence and talent of OG allows for

Other top Defenders to have more freedom to operate within tib system and considering anobi doesn’t demand the volume that recently traded Emanuel quickley and RJ Barrett did the duo of Julius Randall and and Jaylen Brunson have elevated their play to a new level the gruesome tuome of Randall and

Brunson have been playing like co- MVPs Randall is averaging over 30 points per game Brunson is averaging over 27 points per game and OG is a big part of that he’s also the sort of contributor the Knicks have needed a long and switchable Wing who plays at either forward spot a

Guy who drains threes and a guy who creates his own shot before the trade to New York OG was averaging about 15 points four rebounds and two and a half assists in 27 games with Toronto he was also shooting a career best 61% on twos and 37% from Deep Tibido constantly

Mentions the value of shots to his players encouraging the Knicks to Chuck up as many open standstill threes as they can get and there is no question that philosophy is translating into how he is handling anobi OG is currently getting two fewer shots per game with the Knicks but his rebounds and steals

Are up plus his efficiency hasn’t suffered at all anobi fits the style of play that tibs wants from his team he’s tall has great length can switch multiple positions and is committed to playing a physical brand of basketball anobi is also effective on the offensive end especially as a secondary scoring

Option he is everything the Nicks were hoping RJ Barrett could develop into I know you guys are going to have a lot to say in the comments so let me hear it and since You’ watched this far be sure to click that thumbs up button for the YouTube algorithm hit that subscribe

Button too so you never miss another Nicks or NBA video check out my pin comment and also check out the recent video I did on former Nick Dylan Windler I was hoping this guy would get his shot in New York but after a recent g-league performance where he pulled down 33

Rebounds the Los Angeles Lakers called him up and said hey uh Dylan why don’t you come play with us so I did a video on his game and what I think he can bring to Los Angeles check that out let me know what you think and I will catch

You next time on the half court report have a great day

  1. "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." –John 15:4-5

  2. Isaiah Hartenstein is the most underrated player in the NBA.

Ever since Mitchell Robinson got injured (15 games), Hartenstein is averaging 8.4 PPG/10.3 RPG/2.5 APG with 1.5 Steals and 1.8 Blocks a game. During that span, Hartenstein and Anthony Davis are the only players in the entire NBA to be top 10 in both Steals and Blocks.

If you look at only the month of January (since the OG trade), he is even better averaging 10.5 PPG/13.5 RPG/2.8 APG with 2.3 Steals and 3.0 Blocks a game!!! His Blocks and Steals per game numbers in January are BOTH 3rd in the NBA (this is crazy) with no other player even in being in the top 10 of both Steals and Blocks.

His advanced stats for the whole season are also shockingly great as he is 2nd in the entire NBA in Offensive Rebound % and 1st in dEPM (Defensive Estimated Plus-Minus) one of the most well regarded defensive stats.

He is playing like the most versatile center in the NBA and NO ONE outside of knicks fans talks about it. I wish basketball writers and analysts gave him more love

  3. OG is not what they hoped RJ would become. RJ was a 3rd overall pick, the Knicks had way higher expectations for RJ than they have for OG.

  4. Knick are finally getting national attention. Are steadily getting better hopefully they can add another top 10 or top 5 player. Then will be serious Championship contender.

  5. The knicks were a laughing stock after the 90s runs up until the past couple years due to piss poor team ownership. People seem to not know that they were one really bad call away from beating mjs bulls. No other franchise has come that close to beating the greatest team ever. They’re also tied with 2 other teams for 6th on most championships out of 30 teams. 2 doesn’t sound like much most teams don’t have anything because the lakers and Celtics have 17 each. Knicks have gotten the short end of the stick a lot and mainly due to being badly mismanaged but they have cleaned house, the owner stopped interfering with basketball operations, brought it great people and completely changed the culture. Players are taking notice and really want to play there now. They have the biggest bag to spend due to their massive fanbase and being in nyc. The future is looking very bright and some people are still laughing at them like this is all just an accident and nothings changed.

  6. OG left Toronto for a bigger role. His usage is currently 9% lower than it was on the Raptors, which is as low as his rookie season. Ultimately, I think he stays with NY in FA because they own his bird rights. He's been underpaid and I think $$$ in his top priority right now. Regardless, this will fester into an issue if not attended to.

  7. OG is the Draymond now, for the Knicks, without his loose demeanour and temper. OG is so modest, he's actually, disposition wise, the opposite of DG. His attitude can rub off on the others, look how poorly the Warriors play without Draymond, lol, they go from a top team to a bottom feeder, did you see the Raptors destroy them, lol. The owner was there, they wanted to impress, but came up empty!!! Good defensive players through their strategic play, help others on the team, to improve their game, by setting a great example. What we can hope for is for OG to become more like a Kawhi L, dominant at both ends, as he continues to grow as a player. He has the size and ability to do so!!! Knicks are gonna surprise a ton of folks, as winning is contagious vs what they have been doing for way, way too long! OG is like the Hobbit in the Lord of the Rings, lol!

  8. It is so funny how they're calling OG a a superstar now 😂😭.. he's been on the raptors is whole career and barely mentioned Him… Mark my words The Knicks will file another lawsuit against Masai For Theft when it's all said we got two Starters that are under 25 to play with Scottie Barnes… FOR OG😅😅😂
