[Charania] “Dejounte Murray is trade eligible starting today…One team that has a level of exploratory interest I’m told, is his former team, the Spurs…They’re going to take a very patient approach in their building process. There’s not a real level of urgency of going out there immediately”

I’ve talked myself into this more if he comes cheap enough. Charlotte and Chicago picks could be on the table and I’d be fine with that.

Explore deez nuts,We not going back to get ripped off again

  3. ModsEmbezzleMoney

Atlanta you can’t have those picks back even though we let you get shit faced before the poker game

  4. thatRocketsDude

That would be front office suicide tbh cause Spurs have no win now players the Hawks could use. The optics of this trade (back?) would be disastrous.

Would be so weird to have DJ back after he started talking shit as soon as he got traded, but ok

  6. mainvolume

Spurs get DJ back for KJ and a used condom, then send him and a bag of cheetos to Boston for White. Easy.

    > trade away your all-star

    > they underperform

    > trade for them back for pennies on the dollar after tanking

in New England we call this “The Jamie Collins”

Spurs fans: We need a playmaking PG who can run the offense, hit an occasional three, and play some defense

Also Spurs fans: well he said sort of mean things one time so I don’t want him

I saw an interview that Murray did on “all the smoke” with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson and he wasn’t too fond of playing in San Antonio. I don’t think it would be a very good reunion at all for either side.

You can have McDermott (you need shooting right?), Branham (he’s from Ohio which is relatively close to Atlanta compared to SA), the Hornets 2024 pick and a pair of seconds

  11. I really want to steal Barlow and watch him flourish, but he would basically be a throw in for a deal like this.

  12. >Spurs… whether that’s this season, in the summer, next season. They have a runway

I’m taking this to mean that the Spurs are doing an OKC style 2 year tank.

  13. throwstuff165

How about we just wait a couple of years for the full Atlanta teardown fire sale and then they can have their 2027 pick back and a couple of throw-ins in return for Jalen Johnson?

  14. I know he is still mad about being traded but at least he got the money. Coming back he would have to temper his ego. Atlanta isn’t doing anything though. He won’t have a choice where he goes.

don’t like the fit with the spurs, i can’t imagine they try to get him. that team needs someone who can break down a defense, not a contested midrange shooter.

  16. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any funnier, go get em Phoenix

  17. If Spurs really just want a Point Guard, the Clippers have a good one on their 2-way contract that could be really useful. I really hope Xavier Moon gets a real shot in the NBA, he is just so undersized.

HELL NO, I love DJM, the first and only jersey I’ve bought has his name on the back but his attitude is terrible despite what he tries to portray usually, the All The Smoke interview and all his deleted tweets prove that, keep it away from our team

  19. it would be pretty funny if they got him back for like half of what they got for him in the first place

  20. Old_Man_Riverwalk21

My dream scenario was that the hawks would suck and we could get in on Trae. Not so stoked about Dejounte tbh

  21. Nah bring back Derrick White. Bring back Kyle Anderson. Bring back Lonnie

    Bring back Danny and Patty.

    Bring back Demar.

But did Dejounte leave in a bad way too? Like hell nah. Bettwr than Sochan for sure, but if there is no real urgency avoid him.

  22. SurnameFrost

The current FO traded for him, so it would be idiotic to trade him back for a worst return. It’s plausible since we’re a very unserious org (owner’s son has a lot of influence and hasn’t made one good decision)

  23. AndrewTheGoat22

I wanted him gone so we could get Wemby lol but I wouldn’t mind getting him back, him, Wemby, and Vassel would be a a decent core to build around

  24. Ball4life6

You can’t be serious thinking spurs get him cheap

  25. Sure_Station9370

This dudes been talking shit about coach Pop for like 3 years. 0 chance he comes back.

  26. privilegeuglygirl

I like how they all have the laptop in front of them like they are in a sales meeting lmao

  27. Titronnica

I’m actually super on board for a return.

We need a playmaker very very badly, and someone who has played with some of the guys before is already a massive upgrade. He’s still a bit streaky and his defense has regresses but he’s been such a bad fit as a 2 for the Hawks that I’m willing to think he can bounce back in a situation where he can properly thrive.

  28. I saw him on a pod after he got traded. He didn’t really like his stint in SA.
