Coach Unseld Jr about pulling Poole while he was hot: “Well I didn’t want to run him too long. He was going and I played him a little longer than a normal stretch. I knew I was gonna go back to him.”

  1. Coach’s explanation is pretty weak, especially considering all the times posters in here have made the case that he sits hot players. I gave him too much credit. I would have more respect for him if he had said “Yeah I should have brought him back sooner” or otherwise admitted he messed up. /u/nick_argue and the tons of yall that have said this is one of his many weak spots, you’re spot on.

Biggest issues with how he subbed Poole in late was he did it on a defensive possession. Like brother what do you think is gonna happen there

  3. Landry was playing well, scoring 12 points in the 4th quarter and imo provided better defensive effort. We still only managed to outscore OKC by 1 point despite a decent 3rd quarter effort with Poole getting hot, so I think they did a good job riding that lineup. I liked the 4th quarter lineups with Delon/Shamet/Bilal & Tyus/Shamet/Bilal way more than the others.
