  1. Jesus these coaches better send Monty some nice bottles, Rolexes, edible arrangements etc for resetting the NBA coaching contract market.

good. give him a pollo tropical franchise, too. he’s one of the greatest coaches of all time, and i love him dearly.

  3. Repulsive-Throat5068

Arguably the best coach in the league. Deserved.

  4. This is just his rookie level extension. Wait until 2032 for the major bag

He deserves it. Dude’s been consistent from day 1. Even more than Pop given the Heat’s record since Spoelstra took over.

Name a coach who’s done more with less.

  7. abonet619

Deserved. He’s been the best coach by far for years now.

How much “plus”? Plus as in $120 M and some change, or plus as in like $200 M?

Still a hometown discount easily could have been 20$ mil a year

It is interesting how in my opinion coach spo’s skills are far more valuable than somebody like RJ Barrett (who is far more replaceable) but the other makes the equivalent amount. I wonder if star coaches salary’s will ever reach nba stars one day. I think spo is incredibly valuable

A bargain for the level of impact he makes. Would rather have Spo than a player like Gary Trent Jr at 17m ignoring cap

i can’t think of a coach more deserving of this money than him. Been a stud since day 1

I just imagine Spo walking into the owner’s office and dropping the article about Monty’s contract (edit: on the owner’s desk) and saying “What can you do for me?”

100% well deserved. When they first got him for the Heatles I didn’t think he was anyone but a figurehead to keep that team together. Such a wrong take lol. He’s a legit INCREDIBLE coach

  15. Good for him. Definitely deserves it. There’s a few coaches who could be making Jordan Poole level money and it would be justified.

Better than Popovich imo, he can legit take garbage players and make them pretty good within his system. I used to think Popovich could do that with scrubs like Oberto, Gary Neal, Brynn Forbes and always somehow make them look good but ever since Duncan retired and Kawhi abandoned ship, it doesn’t look like it really. Yeah, he has Jimmy Butler now but those years after Lebron left and Bosh got clots he showed he can do it better.
