Ant has to close better than that. Really sucks to lose such a winnable game. All of the amazing things were matched with equally perplexing and stupid things (fouls & ant turnovers). Still a positive performance overall but we really should’ve had that.

  2. We needed bite bite to take a bite out of Ant’s ego in OT

  3. irishace88

Loved the fight all night considering our circumstances but damn we gave that one away.

3 dumbass fouls did us in. NAW pushoff, McDaniels take foul, and Naz foul at halfcourt. Gotta be smarter.

Also should have ran plays vs Ant iso down the stretch. He didn’t have it in the clutch tonight.

  4. BiscuitsBeGood

Credit to Boston, they have one of the most electrifying arenas and fan base. Overwhelming.

  5. rpphdrboze

any other season for as long as i can remember watching basketball we lose this game by 30 points. wrong end of a back to back, travel issues, shorthanded… if we have a full outfit we come in here and embarrass the team with the historic home winning streak. can’t wait to hopefully trade haymakers with these guys in June, would make for an all-time classic series

  6. dosnetlive

The wolves ran outta gas. Had a feeling if they went to OT they’d have no chance

  7. Dull_Ad_8627

Man I can’t stop thinking about that Kyle double that lead to a wide open holiday

  8. Sick of moral victories. Should have won this one. Refs were bad but our guys can only blame themselves. Idk if this is a commendable showing, given the circumstances, or an embarrassing collapse.

  9. Paulie4star

Man, it sucks going into a game without huge expectations and a laundry list full of reasons why a loss is likely, but then to have it well within our grasp and to let it slip. Shit sucks.

Oh well, it was hard fought and I’m still proud of the boys.

  10. KATgonnaGetThatYarn

    Just a great game overall.

Some small stuff to go over, but in the circumstances hard to quibble with that. This team is real.

  11. porterhouse2588

Not mad it’s a loss – game was much better than expected. Mad at some of the boneheaded ways we shoot ourselves in the foot

  12. Dull_Ad_8627

I didn’t think we’d even get this close which makes me even more sad we lost

  13. Richnsassy22

There are no moral victories in professional sports.

Yeah, they were short-handed on a road b2b. But they had the game and blew it with dumb mistakes.

    Fuck.

  14. Most of y’all in the game thread need to take a walk lol. Wtf

  15. Electronic_Run_6043

Don’t overreact. This is way better than I expected us to play with rudy and conely out. It’s going to be a learning moment for ant. Played our heads out just need to finish stronger

  16. Philelverumfan69

That game was like the fucking Memphis series all over again.

STOP TURNING THE FUCKING BALL OVER!! FUCK!!!!!

  17. bearbrannan

This is a great example for all the people who say if gobert gets played off the floor the wolves will get exposed in the playoffs.

They definitely missed Conley’s and Goberts vet leadership on the court, especially in ot, but ultimately the wolves need loses like this, better to have them now then in the playoffs.

  18. TheWolfRuns

What a collapse. No excuses for blowing a nine point lead with three mins left.

  19. bobbywellington

Comparing our performance to the Celtics in the late 4th quarter/OT is night and day…

The Celtics made it look so fucking easy, while we’re stumbling around/fouling/and making horrible fucking passes

We have to be smarter, players and coaches… Ant has a looong way to go

  20. One_Resolution_5155

The way Tatum closed that game out in the 4th and OT is the difference between a refined star and someone like Ant who still has a lot to learn. He will get there, he had a fantastic game barring the last quarter

  21. TommyOfTheShelbys

Jim Pete said it well, we have a lot of growing up to do. That’s 2 wins less now due to poor management of the ball from players and coaches calls.

  22. mighthavetolitigate

ANT struggles with his composure without Conley on the floor. Hope he’s back soon.

  23. JustWinBabys

Dumb fouls and lack of execution. Played too good for too long to let Celtics steal this one.

  24. Mindless_Bad_1591

Good game. NAW and Kyle really stepped up. Ant was grest before the clutch and KAT hit dome big buckets.

Can’t complain too much after a BTB also w/o Rudy or Mike.

  25. Duster_beattle

Y’all need to grow up and not use slurs after a tough loss, holy fucking shit.

  26. richard_smith17

we take the best team in the league to ot on game 2 of a back to back the same day we flew in in missing our 2 smartest players and people will still find a way to complain

  27. Tough result but make no mistake this team can win a title. Down two starters and that’s our effort on the road in Boston on the last half of a B2B. We have it.

  28. Ant is a walking 5 turnovers a game these days and it completely kills this team. He completely melted down the stretch.

Shoutout Slo for by far his best performance of the season

  29. JustSeriousEnough

ANT needs to learn from this game heavily. He single handedly served this game on a silver platter down the stretch in the 4th and OT. Just silly turnovers that elite players don’t make down the stretch.

  30. Charles Barkley Tomorrow Night: “The Timberwolves let Boston go on a 9-0 run. Then in overtime they were turrible and Tatum killed them. That’s why I don’t believe in them, they are just a bad team. “

  31. 1000Isand1

Fun game to watch despite the choke job at the end.

Props to Slowmo, NAW and Naz dominating off the bench.

This team has to figure out ways to keep going to the hot hand.

Ant started out the game looking to pass, was fantastic in the middle two quarters but yes he lost it with his hero ball play in the 4th and OT.

  32. PlayInChampions

As devastating as it looked, I have never seen team being as flawless in clutch as Boston after NAW’s layup when Wolves were up by 9. They scored THIRTY points in last 8.30 of the game. In clutch when opponents are winning and are supposed to waste all 24 seconds and die on defense. They made every free throw, dude with 72% career from the line made 13/13. When they missed they rebounded and made a 3. Almost every contested 3 went in. No turnovers. Gotta give them credit. Still think if NAW did not turn it over that resulted in Tatum’s 3, we could have won it.

  33. minnesotaguy

People can complain about us not being clutch enough but the refs absolutely hosed us in the final two minutes.

2:12 109-104 Ant gets fouled and the ball goes out of bounds. Call on the floor is Minnesota ball. Refs overturn even though it’s far from clear

    2:01 Celtics score

1:55 NAW offensive foul that literally never gets called. Or alternatively could get called every single play

1:41 Celtics score (after a Tatum push off that NAW just got called for )

People can say we choked but we played fucking great against the best in the east shorthanded on a back-to-back and these calls killed us

  34. Ugh I hate losing a game like that to Boston. Fucking hate the spoiled fans

  35. YoungArsenal

Great effort, sucks to lose that as it seemed they wanted this game bad (we had that). No Conley and no Rudy on B2B 99% of people thought this was a scheduled loss and we fought hard.

We need a little more Kat and less Ant iso in the last 4-5min, also if we are doing anything in the playoffs Ant needs to clean up his timely TOs asap. Lastly we need a good stretch from Jaden soon here or is it time for concern?

  36. Good games from Kyle and NAW. Hope we get more games like that from them.

  37. kylebertram

Any just needs higher bballIQ at all the end of games. He makes bad plays too often

  38. car1999pet

The first Wolves win in Boston since 2006 will be game 7 of the finals this year. Manifesting it now

  39. You can feel the difference in big game experience in that game.

And how we desperately need Conley and Gobert in these situations

  40. DiabolicalToast

If there’s one thing I learned watching this game, it’s that Ant still has a lot of growing up to do. I don’t think people realize how much Conley covers up that fact. If Mike was out there to close out the game, we would have won this easily.

  41. CloneWarsMaul

Super proud of the fight from the boys on a B2B and without 2 key starters

  42. TakedaMauro

Hope this game dispels the “Rudy clogs the lane” narrative. If that was the case, Ant should’ve lived at the rim tonight and that didn’t happen. Most of his points were mid range J’s and 2 of his 3 dunks were in transition.

Hell, Celtics didn’t even had Porzingas, the only player that Ant fears at the rim.

  43. MinnyTwinberwolves

Not saying we played great the last 3min of regulation, but we had at least 3 drives that should’ve been fouls. Meanwhile every single thing we did on defense resulted in Celtics FTs. Such a fun and exciting game absolutely ruined by the refs at the end, no wonder Boston is undefeated at home with calls like that…
