Steve Kerr on Warriors 36-Point Loss to Pels: ‘We’ve lost the spirit, the confidence’

Steve Kerr on Warriors 36-Point Loss to Pels: ‘We’ve lost the spirit, the confidence’

Just how disappointing is it to now have back-to-back games where you are hearing booze at home and maybe you felt again that some of those booze or many of them were deserved from the effort that your team showed out there yeah we deserved it for sure um you know fell fell behind

Immediately um and uh I think I think we’re just lacking confidence right now you know it’s it’s um you uh you you just sort of um you know you you get to a stage sometimes where um um you just kind of lose your uh your belief and um

It happens um and that’s what’s happened right now with our team the last few days I think we’ve um you know we’ve just lost um the the spirit the confidence that that has to carry you you know against um talented teams night in and night out some of your roughest

Nights this season have been kind of like blown leads um but are these two nights the LA is is this a more concerning you know thing to happen of course of course yeah we weren’t competitive these last two two games and um you know that one of the coaches um

On the way down said we’re we’re we’re the quietest team ever you know and and uh I think without without Draymond and Chris it’s really exposed just um there’s there’s not much chatter defensively there’s you know we have we do have a very quiet group of guys um

You know with this particular team that’s out there now and and we probably need a a pickme up we need Draymond we need Chris we need you know we guys who can um kind of rally the troops right now and um it’s um you know when you’re

Going through it like this um it’s only one way out and that’s to fight together to compete together and somehow we got to get stops I mean you know we gave up 141 points they scored it will and um you know we we have to be able to get

Stops to be to be competitive

Steve Kerr reacts to the Golden State Warriors 36-point home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, saying the team is “lacking confidence” and are a “quiet” team without Draymond Green and Chris Paul’s presence on the court.

  1. The rotations he has been playing , got me questioning him at this point , For everyone to be @ 25 mins evenly playing , someone in that front office is doing this beyond his control , there is no way he is playing Podziemski by choice like this , and he isnā€™t impacting the team what so ever itā€™s fishy if you ask me šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™‚ļø, Oh and Kuminga was @ 28 Mins tonight , more than Steph Curry himself which he had 25 mins tonightā€™s game , I donā€™t find that Odd especially seeing Kuminga has been frustrated about Mins , itā€™s fishy I tell ya , itā€™s fishy.

  2. You may need Draymond in the short term, but long term he s more of a liability due to his bad habits (he's unlikely to ever change). I would just let this season (and Dray) go and focus on finding a replacement for him. There must be someone around who can do what he does for the team and stay out of trouble.

  3. At this point, I think Kerr is just reading a script written by Lacob or AI version of Phil Jackson! He says the same shit after every loss!

  4. Fine the coach and players heavily…you'd be amazed at how quickly people find their "spirit" when it's their own money being lost.

  5. The Warriors have become long in the tooth with the small lineup. They have refuse to go big in Front court and are getting beat down in the middle. The first championship they had a big front court presence. then K. D. Forward/ center and dominate scorer for 2 more rings and the last championship strong veterans forwards who could defend and score Porter, Poole (Guard) and Andre Iguodala (leadership) took pressure off Klay and Steph that allow them to play their game. Last year you saw them get smoked in the middle and they didn't address it in the off season. Now all teams shoot the 3 ball and have forwards and guards that are fast and strong in the middle. The Failure was not addressing this major issue last year, instead relying on Steph and Klay to shoot you out of your problems has shown to be a losing proposition that Steve Kerr has failed to adapt to this season. The ownership has to look at Kerr along with the newly hired GM who seemly missed the boat during the NBA draft. After KD, They brought in DeMarcus Cousin but injuries slowed him down. Unfortunately they never attempted to secure another big man. It appears that perhaps Kerr has lost his edge for the game and is relying solely on Step and Klay to win games with shooting the 3 ball, this will destroy the remaining years both of them. Kerr should have put together big front court in place and let the back court be the highly optional threat instead of the primary threat every game. Klay and Steph are now exhausted having to score 30 or more in attempt to win nightly. The mindset has to change with the leadership.

  6. Steve shoulda retired with the GM. Youā€™ve had a hell of a run. Team needs a fresh start

  7. Listening to Steve Kerr makes your ear wanna explodeā€¦I think time for him to retire!ā€¦same thing at work when you hate your boss your productivity and effort goes to the windowsā€¦Most of Warriors players donā€™t like the way Kerr is coaching so the effort will not be thereā€¦

  8. Lost spirit my ass. Your recipe is cooked and won't work in the NBA and in the world league. Funny he ain't fired yet šŸ˜‚

  9. The bulls traded charles oakley jordan didnt want to and still won 3 more rings, Dray needed to go and needs to go…

  10. This is all Kerrs fault. They lost trust in YOU. management needs to do something asap (trade AND hire a strong assistant coach to hide Kerrs flaws). We miss Mike Brown so much.

  11. Nah, you are just a bad team with old players who are not contributing to winning.
Stop the emotional bulljive and act like a professional coach and fix it.

  12. Time for Kerr to go. When his stars were in their prime he looked solid because of them and got false credit for being a top notch coach. Now that father time is catching up to their stars he looks like the ordinary coach that he is. The stars carried him and now when they need an innovative approach, strategist and motivator he's been exposed as a fraud as a coach. Time to go Stevie boy.

  13. Kerr was exposed in this season, he does not have any clue on what their rotation will be. Why is Wiggins still playing 15-18 minute a game, he's washed now. I bet next year Kerr will be gone.

  14. Steve, itā€™s part your fault. You donā€™t do shit and your rotations are terrible!
