Knicks Expressing TRADE Interest In MULTIPLE Hawk Players… | Knicks News

Multiple reports have been recently linking the New York Knicks to Allstar guard Deon Murray however according to an NBA Insider that might not be the only Hawks player the Knicks have their eyes on today we’re going to break down exactly who that player is and so much

More today so be sure you’re subscrib to the channel and have notifications turned on so you don’t miss a second of the new content and now let’s get started the Knicks are showing interest in the Hawks AJ Griffin now this actually made me smile when this report came out because if you’re thinking

About it from the Nicks perspective if you possibly are going after Deonte Murray maybe you’re also looking at other players on the Hawks and thinking to yourself well you know what I like that player maybe he would do better on my roster and AJ Griffin fits that bill

Perfectly and according to this report here from Matt Moore from Action Network he states that in other Atlanta news the Bulls the Rockets and the Knicks have expressed interest in AJ Griffin who has fallen out of the rotation under Quinn Snider this season the Pelicans have some interest in Clint capella if they

Decide to move off of Jonas valent Tunis and Toronto has interest in DeAndre Hunter this report helps further indicate what we’ve been highlighting on this channel for the last few weeks the Hawks will be sellers at the deadline they are moving on from a lot of players

According to Wes the only players that they are dedicated to are really Trey young and Jaylen Johnson the rest of that roster can go hunter AJ Griffin dejon Murray all of those guys do not fit what the Hawks are looking to build and honestly wo said it himself what

Trey young and dejonte Murray have going on is not working it’s an experiment that has failed and they want to move on they are talking about deante Murray trades right now and they’re trying to move on from him they’re trying to get the best package back for him so I don’t

Know if the Knicks are in the running for that but if you are in the running for that and you want to give up a little bit of a better package then maybe if you’re the Knicks you want to look at other assets on the Hawks that

You can go after Target and get and in my opinion AJ Griffin is one of the best Targets on the Hawks that you could acquire I know Sadiq Bay is up there as well too I would love to get baay as well but if ba is not on the table and

AJ Griffin is you want to go after him but a lot of people are thinking to themselves right now especially if they’ve been watching Atlanta Hawks games recently why would you go after AJ Griffin he hasn’t played much and when he has played it’s really been in

Garbage time Quinn Snyder has not played him at all so why would you go after him well here’s my argument to that a lot of people don’t know who AJ Griffin is so please let me help explain this to you and let you know exactly who he is first

Of all Griffin was drafted number 16 overall and in the 2022 first round one spot in front of Houston’s Tyrese een if you not been watching Houston games Easton has been a monster Off the Bench great defensively as well for them and Griffin when he was a rookie was

Averaging 8.9 points in 19.5 minutes shooting 46.5% overall and 39% on thre pointers he’s a versatile 6’6 forward who turned 20 years old last season but as we said at the top of the video unfortunately this young guy has fallen largely out of Atlanta’s rotation in his sophomore

Season with them he’s averaging 2.5 points in just nine minutes played per game and just 13 games played overall so at this point you’re probably saying to yourself okay I see where Troy is coming from right now he’s a former first round pick maybe the Knicks can get him make

Him better maybe that’s what he’s looking to do but he didn’t really do anything outlandish in his rookie year of course he shot great from three 39% is respectable especially 46% overall shooting for a rookie is very good as well he was getting good minutes as well for his rookie season but unfortunately

Coming into this new season under a new head coach obviously new Talent on the roster this coach wanted to go ahead and switch up to see what particular lineups worked best for the Hawks and unfortunately right now he’s determined that AJ doesn’t work good with any

Lineup and I I know if that has to do with him defensively because defensively he does need a little bit of work I will admit that however he has a lot of upside as a player if you don’t believe me take a look at these

Stats shout out to my guy D black on the appex me and him talk a lot and he also gives me a lot of great insight to a lot of different players AJ Griffin is no different check out this post here AJ Griffin stats in 2022 2023 because he’s

Had limited playing time this year year due to personal reasons his nephew passed away 19 minutes per game like we talked about just now 46.5% from the field 39% from three 89% from the free throw line offensive rating 13.6 defensive rating 112 net rating 1.5 look at these stats 39% from three

89% from the free throw line offensive rating 113.5 defensive rating 112 net rating 1.5 look at these stats I’m not going to go through all of them for you but here’s a couple of ones you want to keep your eyes on 46.7% on pullup threes 36.4% on catch and shoot threes true

Shooting percentage of 57.7% he was doing this as a rookie and as you just heard because of the personal reasons with his family and an unfortunate passing he did not get a lot of playing time he missed a lot of games when he came back he was just never

Worked into the rotation under Quinn Snider and again because he’s falling largely out of the rotation what does that present Leon Rose in the Nicks an opportunity and that’s all you need in the league an opportunity and sometimes an opportunity change of scenery and when you can be utilized especially when

You’re on a New York Knicks team who need more forward need more depth in that position especially young guys who you can help grow help develop and help get better in the league you take chances on these guys this for me is a no-brainer he’s not getting a lot of

Playing time right now if he was he would likely be putting up similar numbers or better numbers than he was last year why are we forgetting this when you have an unfortunate passing in your family it affects you it affects your game I’m surprised he’s coming up

In trade talks because I think he’s going to be a steal if any team can get him check out this stat again because I think we take it for granted highest pull-up three-point percentage among players 23 and under number one AJ Griffin 46.7% now albeit 60 attempts I get it but that’s still

46.7% number one right after him halberton 39.7% still 307 of course the attempts widely different but look again some other players on this list Cole Anthony 38.6% 56 Jabari Smith some people’s favorite person 37.3% 67 let’s go further down the list Scotty Barnes 56 21.4% RJ Barrett 51 attempts

19.6% we’re all quick to judge the attempts and I know we’re going to look at that but honestly if we just look at the percentage what this kid can do what he did with the Hawks in his rookie year if we understand that personal reasons can affect anybody’s game we’re all

Human we all deal with stuff personal stuff can affect everything on and off the floor we know that if we can understand that buy into that and think we can make this kid better on the defensive and by the way who better to get him defensively ready defensively

Better than Tom thibo who better I don’t think anybody on the market as a coach right now could be better for his development defensively than Tom thibo so that checks the Box he’s young he’s athletic he plays a position of Need for this Knicks team we don’t need more

Guards to be honest we need more size and we need more shooting did did you see his numbers from three did I mention he’s 6 foot6 did I mention he’s a forward did I mention he’s 20 years old did I mention he’s on a down year and

When you’re on a down year this is when you can seize opportunity and get him for a steal and maybe maybe the New York Knicks are doing that maybe right now as we speak they’re working on the dejon Murray deal that includes AJ Griffin and if he’s out of the rotation maybe it’s

Not going to take that much more to acquire him maybe a few second round picks and if that’s the case guys if that’s all it takes for a former 16 overall first round pick if that’s all it’s going to take to acquire him get him change his scenery make sure that we

As a Knicks team as a franchise tellum that we believe in him he’s going to get consistent minutes here he’s gonna play here and not only that he’s going to be developed better here if we can make him understand that have him buy in and then develop him get him better better

Defensively watch what he can do offensively cuz I think he already has it and with consistent playing time he’s going to get better and better and better I absolutely believe that and I think all he needs is an opportunity a new place to play and a chance and the

New York Knicks are prime they’re ready they’re primed they’re in the right position to acquire him get him on this roster and give him some minutes off the bench 15 16 17 minutes off the bench I’ll tell you what it’s better than 9 minutes and I guarantee this kid will be

Impactful within that time frame he was impactful with 19 minutes last year AJ Griffin is the perfect example of somebody that you can get at a very low value that has tremendous upside perfect for low risk High reward and that’s exactly what the New York Knicks can get

If they’re able to acquire him and I think that’s what the New York Knicks are trying to do right now they’re trying to get more assets back because I think the Hawks are asking for Grimes they’re asking for fornier and they’re asking for a lot of picks and I think if

The Knicks are going to be willing to give up all of those assets they’re going to need more than just Deon Murray and if that’s the case why not ask for AJ Griffin now maybe the Knicks want some more role players as well too to help sh up their bench maybe they’re

Looking to add more of those Hawk players but as of right now the interest is clear the Knicks have interest in AJ Griffin on the Atlanta Hawks and clearly the Hawks are going to be sellers looking to move a lot of players on their roster could potentially some of

These Hawk players find their ways to the New York Knicks that’s going to be up to Lon Rose and the New York Knicks front office but I can’t wait to see what they do and as we wait and we head into February maybe the cost of these

Players go from here all the way down to here and this level is perfect for Leon Rose but what about you guys what do you think about the New York Knicks interest in AJ Griffin let me know in the comments Below guys because honestly I would love to hear from you that’s going

To do it for this episode I hope you enjoyed it and if you did go ahead and smash that like button leave a comment below and of course guys please subscribe to the channel until next time Nick fans peace

The New York Knicks continue to be active on the trade front, looking into different players that can help this current roster. According to an NBA Insider, the Knicks may have interest in another player on the Hawks NOT NAMED Dejounte Murray. This interest could signal the Knicks are looking to make a trade for multiple players. Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. I remember alot of people want AJ for the knicks that year. It would be nice to get some more young prospects but I dont want trade assets for the hell of it.

  2. The Hawks have enough forwards so of course they are willing to get rid of the one that has fell off. If its one thing the Hawks do well it is drafting or trading for forwards.. 👀

  3. Thibs will bury him on the bench like he did Cam. Unless he can be acquired for a couple second rounders, it wouldnt make sense.

  4. Sounds good in theory but who's minutes would he get? Not sure he'll be happy with that role. Respectfully

  5. It would be nice if NY could get a big with more size & offensive ability than Precious Achiuwa to backup Hartenstein. Maybe a big with some 4/5 versatility to matchup with bigger teams. I like what NY has on the perimeter from 1-3.

  6. I think what's also missing is the relationship between Thibs and AG Sr. Thins has known Jr. For some time.

  7. We not trading grimes but if we’re giving up 2 first I’m taking AJ as well cause we can flip him elsewhere.

  8. We need a superstar now to compete to go deep in the playoffs. I want to get into the 3rd round this year.

  9. This Trade is a good move. He’s coming back home and he’s versatile to play at 2/3 spot off bench and added key he moves without the ball .

  10. If we got to get rid of Grimes then that’s tough. I like the team the way it is rather pick Ryan Dunn from Virginia, he’s a Thibs guy

  11. It’s looks as if DJ to the Knicks is becoming more and more a reality. The ancillary pieces surrounding the framework of the deal is coming along as well. I’d rather have Bey along with Murray as he can immediately replace Grimes in the rotation should he go, but I can understand the front office’s line of thinking behind Griffin. If you have to unload 1st round picks especially one in this year’s draft, and Grimes, whose still on a rookie scale contract, than you’d want a young player with potential and still on a rookie scale deal in return along with DJ. I definitely understand the thinking behind this. In addition Thibs is familiar with Griffin having had his dad as an assistant on his staff previously. LGK!

  12. Griffin is waaay too raw. He can shoot. Period. He has an NBA body but can't move laterally in defense. He isn't able to drive and isn't much of a facilitator. He can shoot 3s and FTs and that's all. He's only 20 true, but didn't we just try to develop a young player just to see him hit a wall and trade him to Toronto? This is a bad idea.

  13. AJ is only in his 2nd year, so I find it hard to believe they're willing to part with him so quickly. D'Andre Hunter was the player the Hawks chose to go with over Cam Reddish and now they're bailing on him. Do any of these players discussed in this video make us legitimate contenders for the ECF? And of course it always comes down to what do we have to trade away? If it only takes Evan and several of those garbage 1st rounders then do it, as if it doesn't work out we can always flip those players in the off-season for a bigger fish.

  14. New subscriber here man great work it’s shameful I just found your work man you need to be the spokesman of the Knicks modern sports media always shits on the Knicks we need someone like you to be the voice of the Knicks great job recap👏🏽

  15. Man…. I'm cool with the acquisition AS LONG as they still look to get a high caliber player that will help us contend. I thought we were looking at players in the Murry or D mitch zone
