Paul George On His Future As A Clipper, Reacts To Clippers 126-120 Win Over Raptors. HoopJab NBA

Goad Paul what did you uh think about kaai extending his contract today and also how how might that impact you as well cuz Lawrence had talked about trying to compensate you guys but also needing some sacrifice because of how punitive the collective bargaining agreement is in the future so seeing

That what Kawai did today how does that impact you as well um you know I’m extremely uh excited and happy for Kawai um reaching the deal to hopefully make him a Clipper for the rest of his career um uh we’ll see in my situation when we

Get there um but you know again just happy um you know they got the deal done on his end um I know he wants to stay here myself as well um when my time comes um we’ll be ready for those conversations as well MP um speaking about Kawai I was

Listening to your podcast and you were mentioning Kawai being a Lifeline I think it was after the Pelicans game you talking to your boys um you said him being a Lifeline when he’s playing well like that and let’s say you’re not playing you’re not shooting the ball so

Well do you feel pressed and like man I have to I have to kind of keep my end of the bargain when you’re not playing well or you don’t start the game off well do you feel pressed or like stressed out to try to match his intensity on the other

Offensive um no I mean it’s basketball is either you make it or miss it um I don’t ever put too much in it of course on court you want to make shots but um I don’t put too much in it it’s a long game I always tell myself it’s a long

Game regardless of how I start the start the game off or how I finish um it’s a long game so no I don’t put too much pressure on it you know I I trust the process of just getting lost in the game and uh you know just continue to shoot

Continue to be aggressive um and just try to be make my mark defensively more than anything hey Paul um you guys have collectively emphasized sacrificed quite a bit this season I was wondering just like the collective experience that you guys have the years in the league playoffs knowing how rare these

Opportunities to win a championship are has that been a motiv motivating factor for you guys um of just trying to get to the playoffs or no understand buying to the system and you know thinking about the long game yeah I mean this is you know um put it all into perspective and you

See the big picture you know we’ve all have been accomplished in our career um at this point other than Kawai um and Norm I guess on the roster no one else has won a championship um and so and PJ um but no one else outside of those guys that

Won a championship so um for us is we understand what’s at stake um sacrifices comes to we just want to win we don’t care what it looks like how it looks um as long as it’s a w everybody’s satisfied uh we don’t care about who get shots

Who’s offensive night it is or what the case may be it’s more so just finish the game with a win and everybody’s happy about that one um but you know when you when you put it all into perspective like I said we’ve all getting our accomplished we’ve quote

Unquote made um our money in this league we’ve established who we are in this League um none of that matters um at the end of the day it’s just how can we come together on a nightly basis to get a win well Ka was saying that um you got a

Conversation with you and James especially guys who have an option for agency coming up um what is obviously more of a representation thing what’s your level of optimism that an extension could be reached um maybe this you know was Kawai maybe the first stepping stone

Domino to kind of fall in that kind of happening uh yeah I mean I absolutely um you know secure and lock in kaai um definitely um leaves the door open for myself um but uh very very optimistic that uh something will get done on my behalf as

Well I guess I don’t know if this overlaps too much but last time we talked to you about your exen was training camp and you decided like like you said tonight I want to be here remain here just matter get on the same page you know three 3 four months later

Is there any update on just how aligned being Are CL close to being on that same page you guys are to get something done uh yeah we’re we’re we’re working through it we’re working through it than you one more um I don’t mean for this to

Be a softball like you you came here kaai in 2019 and You’ seen how the league changes as far as the max player uh you know those type of guys team after team what makes you in why so special that y’all have kept you know playing together being on the same team

Leading this culture changing how this franchisees looked at and continue to really keep the driv to a minimum as you continue to achieve a goal that you haven’t achieved yet um honestly it just comes down to no egos um we genuinely like each other um I don’t

Know if that’s been the case in other situations where you have two stars um at some point I feel whether they say it or not um they bump heads or you know one individual once more than the other um with us it’s we genuinely care for one another and appreciate one

Another in this process and support one another um I don’t think it’s an ego whatsoever um I want the you know best for him and vice versa um so I think when you look at it from that lens it makes it easy easy uh for us to be the

Cornerstones um and build around and um you know it’s just especially at our age um you know I think that what stands out more than anything at our age you know usually you have younger guys together and you build through them and those guys you know at some point

Separate um but you know I I I just think we just you couldn’t find two guys um that compliment each other more than myself in kawhai and and enjoy it as much as we do playing together let’s get ready for hoop Jab

  1. It just go to show that Kawhi is the most valuable player for the clippers when he signed the extension. Good for clippers nation's

  2. If PG wants the max and threatens to leave…the Clippers should definitely trade him. He‘s the least important player there and he chokes in big moments.

  3. It’s only right that KL got his extension first . He made a sacrifice to keep the team flexible as well which is a good thing. I think the last time PG signed a max deal first.

  4. They have found chemistry this year and due to the Harden PNR game with Zu there is more open perimeter shots. Also less effort to score by the big 2 each possession allows them to spend more on the defensive effort. Resigning the 3 should be the priority.

  5. PG is rlly Whi little brother voluntarily at that😩😂 dude passes the buck crazy lol
2nd reporter asked a GREAT great question!!!

But PG being PG man🤣🤦🏾‍♂️ bro said he feels no pressure to match production wen Whi going off n he’s struggling😩 ultimate sidekick response but even sidekicks never make it this obvious.
    Need that dog bro smh
