PRESS CONFERENCE: Jrue Holiday on loss to Bucks, returning to Milwaukee

When in the conversation with Joe to not play that the second half it’s kind of unusual to have Happ that early uh yeah uh I think it just wasn’t the lack of us not playing hard just having a tough schedule and then um it being a back toback is going in overtime

Having a flight um I think just based off the way the game went sometimes coaches make decisions like that so uh was sorry no go ahead was there dialogue like did you guys say you want to be in there did you guys say yeah that that’s the right call

Like what was time no yeah and you know we wanted to fight we wanted to uh stay in there and play but sometimes as coaches or as players sometimes you have to listen to your coaches too so um you know I I appreciate Joe for that

Because again I think as a coach he definitely does care about our wellbeing um and he also knows that like we’re going to fight to the end no matter what the score is so um I I guess just for you U were talking to Dame about playing the

Blazers he’s like well it’s not the same as going to Portland there cares for you was it like to play here tonight right it was cool it was cool to be back it felt comfortable walking in just walked in a different way um seeing familiar faces uh saying hello to to people that

Um i’ had seen for the last three years so it was it was it was cool to see everybody what was it like hearing the cheers from fans and seeing the yeah it was awesome you know um my stent here I had a great time and and uh it

Was really fun and had some great memories and showed some of those memories on the Jumbotron so it was cool to kind of see that and then the fans here have always been great uh they’ve always been um supportive of me and my family uh and the team here so uh it’s

Definitely a fun place to play did you get a chance to take at all or something like look at later uh a little bit a little bit of it um he was getting an ass kick so I was kind of locked into the game trying to

Figure that out but um I saw some of it and um again I I just appreciate what the Bucs have done for me and my family um everything that we’ve been through um the city of Milwaukee what what it means to me and my family so it was um it was

Cool to come back it was cool to had a video and uh but I’m glad it’s over by chance did it feel maybe different than you expected it to feel did it was just like it was just kind of like a reunion s a s kind of yeah it was like a reunion

You know it was uh like I said it was good to see people that that um again I had seen for a long time walking through these doors and uh people that I care for and people that care for me so um it’s always a good time to it’s always a

Good thing to come in and walk into that and have that that Embrace from fans and uh people that work here from the team so it was uh it was cool said these losses happened you know during the year you know in your experience what’s the

Key to putting you know loss like this behind the next game the next game coming out um locking in and taking care of business uh again I’ve been on this end of it before um but I think the type of team that we have the resiliency that we

Have um how we play and we feel like we play the right way uh we’re going to come out and fight and again it wasn’t a lack of us not hustling or playing hard um we know that when we step on the court we’re going to give it all

So not worried is there anything tonight was fatigue I mean let’s be honest three three and four nights overtime is there anything the league can do that they haven’t already done to prevent nights like this where you guys are just coming out and like saying damn we we just

Don’t have it like yeah probably what probably yeah I don’t know I don’t really want to speak on that because I’m I don’t do scheduling and all that but uh there’s probably a couple things I’m curious just would you physicality from the Bucks defensively tonight what did you see from them in

That regard uh that they’re physical you know um they do a good job of protecting the paint um you know clogging up the paint so you try to get in there and get fouled you always have Brook and Yiannis down there protecting the paint and then

Um great guard play Malik um Dame they look like they were locked in Chris it seemed like they were uh uh definitely sliding in puppies tonight so presented by your New England Ford dealers for America built for it proud

After the Celtics 135-102 loss to the Bucks, Jrue Holiday talks about Joe Mazzulla’s decision to sit the starters in the second half and how he felt returning to Milwaukee for the first time since being traded

  1. the so called "stars and leaders" don't want to speak tonight huh? terrible leadership. any heart from this team disappeared when Marcus Smart left… Franchise is a joke

  2. im a Cs fan how much softer can the Cs get maybe WNBA ? Third year the celtics are favored and it will be the third year they brick 3 pointers on the way to getting eliminated . Just wondering , the Celtics have 135 asst coaches , not one said maybe we should call a timeout and tell them to stop shooting 3s?

  3. Jrue was talking real spicy yesterday he ain’t the same the bass gone he fully expected to blow us out 🦌🦌🦌🦌

  4. T-wolves were on a back to back, down 2 starters and no one complained when Celtics beat them 🤷‍♂️
