Even as a Bucks, Milwaukee resident, I wanted to see at least half the 3rd of Celtics. Still like to see good players play regardless of the team. Wasn't good at all for the viewers. Not to see them keep getting cooked because you never know what can happen. At least try to fight back sheesh coach 😂

I don’t know why Kenneth Smith is talking about his never seen stuff like this. Greg Popovich from the San Antonio Spurs has done this plenty of times with his starters, and pulled them out the game for punishments.
Bucks got flamed for getting blown out last year on a back to back and that was in march towards the end of the season. We’re not even halfway yet and guys are already tired? That’s the problem. These past few years with all this load management has shown how out of shape and overpaid players really are and how bad the product actually is. Make whatever excuse, what ifs you want but at the end of the day there is no NBA without fans. Adam silver has been getting too much praise for how bad of a commissioner he really is. That next tv deal will be a wake up call to players but won’t stop them from complaining. Celtics aren’t the only ones doing this either. Celtics threw the game right out the gate and you want gambling in pro sports?
I have no problem with the starters being benched because there comes a point where it's just not worth it. They're trying to win the championship, not a random Thursday game. Imagine they all stay in and the starters get hurt, are you going to blame the coach for keeping them in during a blowout?
Stop being hypocritical. If the starters got hurt while down 30 on a random Thursday game against the contending Bucks, you'd be pissed too and forget all about "doing it for the fans". Making sure the starters are good for a playoff run is for the fans; not trying to win a blowout game on a random Thursday game.
Pat Riley rested starters late in the season when the division was won; he was fined for it. In 1985, the Lakers were fined for not playing Magic or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in a season-ender against the Kings

Benching them was the right play. Its not solely them being on a B2B, but their general schedule over the last week was like 5 games in 7 days alternating cities every game. The team clearly wasn't ready for a rested and determined bucks squad. Better to let them get some rest when the game is that lopsided. I mean we're talking historical lopsided at the half.

Mazzulla was right to take them out. They weren't going to win the game so why risk injury in order to make a point? I can assure you that had one or two of the starters got injured the world would be saying "why were they still in a game that was already lost".
Fans in Boston would want to see the starters but fans in Milwaukee wanted to see the blowout. Everyone was happy.
