Coach Brown Postgame Presser | 1.12.24
Um well you got to give Philly credit I thought uh I thought the bias uh Harris played a monster game uh for him I I know he he had 37 on 14 for 25 I man it seemed like he was 21 for 25 as oppos I can’t believe
That he somehow someway missed uh what is that 11 shots yeah uh but must give him credit he was really really good for him tonight baton was too in a lot of different ways um the bottom line is we turn the ball over and uh and when we
Had threes I thought which most of them were pretty good looks we didn’t make them if we go eight for 21 uh eight for 38 from the three-point line uh with the types of turnovers that we had against these guys uh it’s going to it’s going
To be hard for us to uh to win and uh you know we kept telling our guys that they’re going to collapse they’re going to collapse they’re going to collapse uh so just make the simple pass don’t leave your feet don’t try to dribble through traffic and you know we tried it time
And time again instead of just hitting a single and when we did do it uh they got out they got easy baskets on us and transition they moved ball and got easy baskets after moving the ball when we turned it over and we couldn’t get
Matched up and so I give uh I give those guys a lot a lot of credit and then they had some timely offensive rebounds too we get a stop and next thing you know they come up with the 50-50 ball or a long rebound or they just outwork us on
The glass and um so they they definitely earned the win tonight like last year you guys went 0 and six against Boston Milwaukee and and Philadelphia teams you see Eastern conference but also that just play with a level of physicality defensively is there a Common Thread that that you can
Point to and is there a learning experience for for your team that it can experience when going against teams like that uh well you know I I don’t necessarily recall I know uh we got I think beat pretty bad here beat bad in Boston but I don’t recall all the games
From last year I could tell you about tonight they were definitely very physical uh tonight and they were physical in the right way and and uh they knocked us off our spots uh you know they swiped at the ball and they might have got some arm and some hand
But not enough to where you know in a especially if you’re in a playoff series to where you can really complain about it we just have to be stronger with the ball we got to get off the ball sooner and hit singles and not try to make the
Play and uh because if you try to make the play against these guys as long as they are and as much as they Gamble and and as much as they’re into your body it’s going to be a turnover and and that was proven tonight uh that uh you know
Those turnovers that they had and as quick as they are getting out uh really C hurt us sort of continuing a theme of you know when you guys have lost a lot of these losses have been in double digits is there anything that that you can point to that applies to this game
Or maybe the other ones also that no I no you know tonight I I thought our guys you know in the third quarter we tried to fight we brought it uh you know 14 and we just uh couldn’t come up with 50-50 ball or rebound and
They put get a put back or score here so our guys did a better job in the second half compared compared to the first half when the defense end the floor uh but again it’s when when you turn the ball over 17 times you’re not only giving
Them a chance to score easy baskets the other way especially with their speed their athleticism but it’s also taking away shot opportunities for us and uh so I you know I I don’t that’s kind of how I look at it I don’t compare it to how we played against these guys last year
Or even you know you don’t want to lose at all uh let alone by double double figures but I don’t look at it that way because I thought our second half or as the game went along we were a little better what’s the thought process with
Trying to you were throwing a lot of guys who haven’t been in the rotation in their um with with without Kevin um just what’s the thought process and where are you at with with Kobe and JTA and um and Sasha trying to fill those minutes yeah you know we we weren’t knocking down
Threes uh we were turning the ball over so I just wanted to give a different look see if uh we can come uh with some guys off the bench to keep the game simple see if we can get a good look here good look there maybe knock down a
Couple of shots uh from some different guys and uh see see what happens at the end of the day so that’s all it was was just me searching and uh in situations like that I will probably continue to search because I’m not going to sit there and and you know versus a really
Good team it’s hard to fight back especially when they had the confidence that they had from the very first second third possession it’s hard to fight back and and catch a team like that if you keep doing the same thing over and over and over again so I was just just
Searching with with those guys thank y’all try

Tonight sucked
trade kevin Heurter and Barnes, if not we won't be a contender
Mike should work for Chime…. Hes been giving a lot credit to other teams lately. He should be giving better coaching to his team. Another very poor effort.
Something really strange going on. This was not our Kings. There were a ton of completely bonehead turnovers from Fox, Keegan and others that they never makes. I also saw at least 3 air balls from our guys, one was completely wide open from Trey who's been on fire. We also missed easy shots right at the hoop. And we shot 22% from 3. These are not symptoms of just an off night, this was a mental issue, they were playing scared, they were clearly rattled for some reason. The game was nationally televised, so millions more people watching, but that shouldn't impact their nerves THIS much. But I think I recall other national broadcasts where they played like this as well. Same with the playoff series, lot more viewers, higher stakes. So I think that played a role. Also I think Philly's tight d played a role, it got them rattled. And possibly being the third game on a road trip, having to go to the east coast. Maybe it's a combo of all of that, but it reminded me of some of their playoff games when the stakes were high. I'm curious what you guys think caused them to make those types of plays.
I'm looking forward to getting past the trade deadline so players and coaches can settle in and refocus. I look forward to hearing what's wrong with Fox. Dude is so good he can score in his sleep, but he has looked terrible lately, sloppy, tired, weak to no effort on D-especially off ball, and poor decision making. I thought Bib nailed it tonight on the post game with Mo tonight.
Sasha is so ass … I was definitely expecting more from him …. Should of known better since they hyped him up so much
Anyone play defense? Ffs shocking
How come Paul Reed didn't get the "message" after shoving Duarte to the ground in the 1st quarter?
also whenever a team announces players on the trade block the chemistry shifts in the locker room and in those players heads and their teammates
