Jonathan Kuminga Wants a fresh start – Brooklyn Should Be All In?

Jonathan Kuminga Wants a fresh start – Brooklyn Should Be All In?

Coming up the trade season is upon us for the NBA and when a young 21-year-old Jonathan kaminga says Golden State’s just not for me well the Brooklyn Nets need to be ready to pounce we dive in on the new trade scenario coming up next you are locked on Nets your daily

Brooklyn Nets podcast part of the locked on podcast Network your team every Day Brook yo ah yes my friends it is the lockon Nets podcast right here on the lockon podcast Network it’s your team the Brooklyn Nets every single day and sometimes extra when big news is breaking he’s Doug Nory on Adam marick we thank you for making us your first

Listen of the day excuse me and let you know that LinkedIn jobs helps you find qualified candidates that you want to talk to faster post your job for free at linkedin.com lockon NBA that’s linkedin.com lockon ba to post your job for free terms and conditions apply and

Doug go ahead and apply your best trade scenario as we’ve talked about this player many times before on this podcast Jonathan kaminga Young player Golden State falling apart at the seams come on Brooklyn let’s start cooking well as I posited earlier today it’s like Curry and kaminga for Simmons and O’Neal and I

Won’t take a dollar less so and know we could do something like that now um yeah when this when sham strania reports via anony Slater on the athletic that uh Jonathan kaminga is basically fed up with the situation in Golden State and I can you know happy to read the quote

Here in a second but um he basically from Shams it’s that kaminga has lost faith in Steve Kerr no longer believes that Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential sources say and it goes on from there this is following Golden State losing uh on Thursday on Thursday

Night where kaminga got pulled after 19 minutes so the fir the second this this news pops up I mean my brain goes back to when you and I talked about this very same guy during the summer and said this is the kind of guy that the Nets should Target it’s a variety of

Reasons and the easy ones are very young post hype Poss this these are basically repeating Things We Said in the summer possibly hasn’t gotten a fair Shake here in Golden state that team does not like to play young guys they’ve been their rotations are all over the place and now

We forward to January and he’s basically publicly asked out here I mean via the media and my opinion is unchanged even though there’s clear flaws in the game which we can discuss but overall just on a high level well again just go back to what we said over

The summer the Nets need to be in the position of targeting High upside young players that they can try to rehabilitate Allah what they did when they had to rebuild following the Celtics trade debacle when they had no picks this guy falls right into that

Category is it a home run slam dunk of course not but you have to be willing to take chances like this if they’re going to rebuild without draft picks and especially when you think about we’ll get into you know different price points different versions of this making money

Match all those kind of things but when you talk about a team in the Brooklyn Nets now who again actually like we said in the summertime have a couple of veteran players Dorian finy Smith Royce O’Neal that you want to move on from that you want to get value for well if

You’re at the point now that golden state is is willing to sell low on a player for for some reasons that are legitimate others that maybe just don’t match up where they’re at all of a sudden saying well you guys with Steph Curry and still with Thompson right and

Still that core still exists there we got some guys you want to try to keep this season still competitive and still push forward and shed a young player that seems to be frustrated in your organization we can do that for you and the price point is right his contract is

Small another year of control after this one so the Nets have all of the right ingredients here not taking on big money not having to send out any kind of major draft capital I would not believe if at all hopefully in an ideal scenario and

Then also an option to say when you get to Brooklyn you have all the in theory we’ll talk about this angle of it too as a young player all of the all of the space in the world to play Big minutes to rehabilitate what your value looks

Like and whether it’s for us or next next year at the trade deadline we continue to have valuable opportunities to improve our team through a variety of ways yeah look it’s not the cleanest fit in the world he’s extension eligible right like you he clearly wants a role

And he’s been public about it we can read into whether or not like it’s a good idea to go this route as a young player leaving an essentially a storied franchise though I will say the Warriors this year are coming much closer to full out mess than they are like the great

Run that we saw them on and by the way when I saw this when I saw kaminga ask for this trade to me I wasn’t surprised at all because anyone that does any kind of NBA minutes projections on a night toight basis which is like you know I do

Every single night kingo’s has been incredibly difficult to pin down about where the are going to land because they’ve been all over the place right like he’s been starting but it was you know 30 minutes 23 minutes 24 minutes 25 minutes 34 minutes 19 minutes like this

Is when you try to do this on every night basis you do sometimes get a sense of teams you definitely get a sense of team’s commitment to certain ideas or players and when the band around the minutes is wide even me from my computer can tell that there’s something going on

Here right and so when I when I see the kaminga ask for the trade it’s just like not even surprising at all now what the Nets should consider giving up I mean I will say one other good news about this is that the Nets probably have I mean

They definitely have stuff that if the Warriors are still thinking about maximizing Steph’s title window which they probably just have to be thinking about at this point Y they have the kinds of guys that could get in there and play minutes and Steve ker seems to

Be the kind of guy that want wants to play veterans alak Von so maybe that’s the problem coming back but that you know I think I there there does seem to be at least a ven diagram overlap here of wants and needs whether the Nets would want a stomach something like this

I’m not sure but it does seem to make sense at least on paper yeah the high level here before we may talk about because there there’s a couple different angles from this and you see everybody starts running wild right these three players that one pick you can do this

You can do that uh at the very high level just in terms of making something functionally work Roy Oil going to the Golden State Warriors boom plug him in give him minutes good to go veteran experienced player kaminga coming back maybe a moody coming back that makes the

Money work and you’re all good just as that as the Baseline core do you are you comfortable with that from Brooklyn side I think it’s a yes I think it’s yes for you as well do you think that golden state looks at kuminga even in this

Moment of we’re gonna give up on this young player but we don’t require anything significant in terms of draft Capital back because that’s always I think kind of the hang-up Point potentially so right so one thing with this is to recognize is just because a player asks for a trade doesn’t mean

They get the trade we it seems like that’s the case but it’s not always remember buddy healed us for a trade out of the Pacers four months ago and we haven’t heard a single word about it and he’s just still on the Pacers so sometimes these lower level guys just

Saying it out loud doesn’t mean anything right he could very well be a PA be a warrior here you know going forward now and again like this team with Draymond like you know this weird this very weird suspense that he’s on where it’s like unclear how he’s going to come back and

The team just can’t win and they don’t know where the players are it does seem that maybe they would probably like to move off of him if they think if he’s already if he’s gonna go public if he’s gonna go public with a demand it feels

Weird to bring him back into the room right but yeah no I think that like just from that as a starting point that does make sense I don’t think the Nets would be the only team that would come calling though and I think that’s the I think

That’s the other thing too I think there’s this would be an attractive thing for a lot of these young up start teams that have space to think about taking a flyer on because I don’t think like he’s not like tarnish Goods at all no 100% and that’s why coming up here in

A second I want to pose maybe an even deeper level of trade possibilities between these two teams that could actually get not only the Brooklyn Nets of Jonathan kaminga but maybe some draft Capital as well we’ll dive into that in just one moment all right before we get into that

Opportunity to discuss about some buzzing news here with Jonathan kaminga and the state of the Golden State Warriors one of the things that I thought about here too was I I if the Nets are making a move like this going towards the deadline you’re also then signaling that

We are willing to move on from some of our our older players right because everything that’s swirled around the last two plus weeks is well the net should be selling all these veterans and we’ve had a conviction around that side of it or they should be going all in and

Putting in draft Capital to go get Donovan Mitchell or player X or Y and make a real run for this thing I wondered about if you’re willing to now say give me a 21y old player that could has upside and won’t cost us a lot to

Get we’ll send out a veteran on an expiring deal but the other player that came to mind for me for Brooklyn is Nicholas Claxton and maybe saying if we’re getting into this vein of starting to think about moving some pieces and Golden State wants to still win now

Wants to stay competitive boy could I sell I think myself on moving on from Nicholas Clon in the final year of his deal and sell the warriors on bringing in a 24 year old player that next off season you’ll make some Financial moves you could retain him and keep him around

And I just you start thinking about Nicholas Claxton playing with curry and playing with Klay and you go right there there’s probably a version where that next level of his game is somewhere else and you need Superstar talents around him to really highlight that well this has become an increasingly popular topic

Of conversation among Nets folks which is like the Claxton question about the extension and really that revolves around how good Dron sharp has played and that’s actually pretty much the whole the whole conversation it’s like oh we can already see another guy coming in here and be able to eat a lot of

These Center minutes and maybe centers are a little bit more replaceable and if there’s going to be a market for Claxton I can see another team is if that’s what you’re asking right like you’re asking like if claxon is yeah right so I don’t think like claxon for kaminga want like

Oneon-one or one for one is a even swap at all no no I’m I’m adding him in I’m saying Royce O’Neal and and Nicholas Claxton going to Golden State and then starting to say we want some draft Capital back along with kaminga yeah yeah sorry right great so yeah like I

That starts to make sense and I actually think there’s going to be a market for Claxton here I think that like he it’s not been his best season but I think a lot of other teams are going to look at the tools and be able to Envision them

In a different situation like hey they’re gonna play they’re gonna switch up and play more switching every once in a while right they’re he’s gonna be able to pair with a better Rim running point guard that the Nets just don’t have right like these things that the Nets

Just don’t have that can actually capitalize on any of his actual skills yeah I think that like that’s going to be attractive now whether or not like packaging them here to get even more back from Golden State I’m not sure Golden State sees that completely I’m fascinated here with how they actually

Envision what they see in this situation it’s very clear that like I said at the top that golden state has not wanted to play these young guys for kind of ever right like Wiseman they had trouble integrating trade him now he’s they might have been right about that one

Kaminga they’ve had trouble integrating here Moody is basically buried at this point pods even though it was like super clear he should be playing a ton it took him forever to get into the rotation like they have the same sort of sometimes problem that n have which is

They can’t get the young guys in but I I think the more veterans you can ship to this specific team the better with Kerr and I do think actually from that standpoint Claxton would qualify there for sure O’Neal qualifies for sure DFS qualifies for sure I think that’s really

Attractive and the more pieces you can put together especially for future stuff where Golden State just might not be the good a good in three or four years like it’s starting to look pretty tasty I think th this is where and and and really why I brought up Claxton you said

You know dorany Smith as well anybody you know again I’ll look at guys like Dennis Smith Jr if you think that that gives them short-term value and say you can put them into the mix as well the money has to start to add up here but when you said other teams are certainly

Going to be interested in a Jonathan kaminga that’s where if you want the Brooklyn Nets to be involved if you think that this makes sense for them then you have to start to say and how do we increase value if we want to stay away from the picks Because by the way

When you have the chess from Phoenix and the Dallas and everything else anytime that a trade comes up you know the teams that you’re negotiating with for whatever it may be are going to go now about those Phoenix picks right they’re always going to ask for those first so

How do you deter them and then how do you also deter other suitors who maybe want to say yeah we have some pieces we have some draft Capital the Nets maybe have the right combination here to get it done the other thing then if we just want to turn our attention over

Obviously to the Brooklyn side of it is what would that mean putting Jonathan kaminga into this mix right what does that say coming in the room because there’s another player that’s young and under 22 in cam Thomas who has his own kind of Journey happening being a young

Player and wanting to develop and maybe not getting minutes does that all piece together for you on the back end well I’ve been pretty much on the if you’re going a certain route then fit matters a lot less than people want it to right because I’ve se you we posted things

Before where it’s been like well how’s this person gonna pair with this person I’m like well if you pick a certain path like where you’re just going younger you really can’t be as concerned with that it’s not it’s not ideal but you can’t go like hey super young upside and guess

What they all fit together perfectly like doesn’t really work either kinga’s game is is definitely flawed so I don’t I don’t think this is a home run situation you’re not trading for this is what I would call this like of the Boomer bust variety where it’s you I

Think you can see real upside here obviously like the measurables are sick uh the pedigrees there seventh overall pick he’s super young at 21 years old already in his third season um the shooting has fallen off a cliff this this year right but like some of the

Scoring has kind of maintained on a per minute Bas has actually ticked up a little bit with more playing time you know he’s getting on the boards a little bit more again I don’t think I think if you look at a lot of the tape you would probably you could probably talk

Yourself out of it honestly but I one two things one is while the war the Warriors you’re you’re hard pressed with the Warriors to find a lot of guys that went in and fit flawlessly within that system each time like it’s actually but there are examples where it just didn’t

Kind of work but it still can work on like a basketball the Kelly UB right Kelly UB is getting good quality rotation minutes for the Sixers this year the motivation is a little different he was a mess on the Warriors it was hard to run the constant

Action stuff and maybe that’s a slight indictment on guys that can’t really integrate but I also it’s not like you can look at this long list of Warriors guys outside of stay cleff and Dray um got the Steph clay and Draymond that have gone in there and totally

Flourished each time it’s actually the list is pretty short like they kind of rehabilitated Wiggins I mean who are the other guys guys that came out of Golden State you know I I don’t know you know what I mean like it’s not like this just been this Factory of great basketball

They’ve had these superstars it’s not like they’ve done an amazing job each time with the role player so maybe I’m talk case that that core that you mentioned there was like Hey you hit on these guys you developed them correctly you developed the system and everything they’re at because they are so talented

You’ve done a lot of winning remember you brought in Kevin Durant for a little spell there to do some more winning but all the other pieces the things you do in the background when that certainly don’t matter nearly as much because you’re winning but now in this moment

When Draymond is suspended when it looks like maybe this era is coming kind of winding down here you go oh have we done the requisite steps in the background to make it possible for us to feel comfortable not moving on rather than saying do we need to look outside and do

We need to bring in other Supporting Cast members here for the back end of steps run right right and so I think from that standpoint it’s like worth it the take a shot because I don’t sure you always get like the perfect version of whatever a guy is in that system again

Two my two major like final takeaways on this stuff is a kaminga is a is’s a big body the like efficiency is not amazing and you can definitely look at and you know free throw shooting isn’t translate there’s pieces that don’t translate you might even just look at the him asking

Out at 21 and be like hey that’s a huge red flag like that alone like that’s a red flag that you don’t want to attach yourself I hear all that well you go ahead because do you think that’s a do you think it’s a red flag for him to

Have done that one of the things that first of all you know it’s the NBA it’s it’s athletes and we know how that works you feel like you’re talented enough but you know you want to draw a parallel cam Thomas could have done that I guess if

We want to live on the same plane right he could say I’m not getting a good enough opportunity I want out of here and that would have certainly been a jarring statement for Nets fans to hear for you and I to discuss on this podcast subsequently I don’t put stock into this

Necessarily but I will say that I think the Nets organization might put in stock that kaminga developed in the New Jersey based development Camp school that Kyrie Irving donated money to to help keep alive and keep things going you know the recent experience for this organization

I would assume has them a little snake bit to go oh there’s a disgruntled player somewhere let’s go bring him here and let alone the kuminga whatever we think he could turn into he’s not a superstar right like disgruntled Superstar is something you take a bigger

Risk on than a young player and all the risk is far more mitigated with this but but I do think that would play a factor in this 100% for the Nets yeah and also again just to reiterate we’re talking about Jonathan kaminga here as a potential piece but actually I think

This is representative of just an idea the net should be thinking about it’s like it’s okay kinga’s here is kaminga likely to be a net no he’s not he’s not likely to be a net there’s you know 29 other teams but that might get into the

Mix and or the Nets just have no interest in this at all like we don’t know it’s more the thought experiment around ways the Nets can think about beginning to retool this situation without draft picks and which kind of players they should be targeting this is

What I’m talking about it’s this kind of idea it’s probably not kaminga right it’s it probably isn’t you know why because tra guys just don’t get traded that often and there’s other teams it’s like it’s not rocket science to try to do the you know the back of the napkin

Math here but in thinking about how to get creative with a rebuild this is what marks and Company did six years ago yeah right when they they took in guys that were unhappy in situations or teams that just want to unload stuff because it was a problem or they underperforming

Expectations or whatever D’Angelo Russell Timothy mov I mean like the list like Spencer Den witty they got off the scrap heat Bruce Brown like they just got all these guys that either other teams were down on or sort of run their course in the situation and they

Rehabilitated and got value out of them I know we’re ways away from this because of Kyrie and Katie and all this other stuff that went on but at the core the Nets are very in that in a very similar situation to what they were when they needed to rebuild after the Boston

Debacle and that is how they did it they took another trash another team’s trash and made it their treasure yeah and kaminga a 21 represents that kind of opportunity it might not work but you have to but you have to at least try on things like this and that’s why I’m not

Going to care about fit or whatever like that doesn’t that to me doesn’t matter coming up here in a second we’ll tie a bow on this trade discussion Which is far broader for the Brooklyn Nets as Doug highlighted the philosophy they need to take why Shawn Marx has

Displayed being very good at this type of situation for an organization and a little bit of an interaction that I had with the locked on Lakers guys that reminds me just how much fans struggle to evaluate their own Talent we’ll do that in just one second all right before we do that tell

Golden State Warriors certainly a lot of people are going to be interested in a player like this and the other thing I think too just to throw in on on going after a guy like this the contract is is obviously incredibly manageable um for him only making $6 million under control

For next year yes he’s going to want another contract but there is some element of this as long as the price point is right and moving off of an expiring Royce O’Neal contract as well who’s not going to be back with this team either you go we took a shot right

We took a shot even if kaminga came in for the last 30 games of the year you go you know what I don’t think this kid has it he’s not going to turn around okay he’s like no no big deal there’s nothing wrong with that it’s the same thing we

Said about when the Nets this off season went out and brought in all of these young players Harry Giles is still on this team he’s not going to sniff anything and we’re talk those are some mid 20s kind of guys but there were other players that came and went in the

Blink of an eye trender Watford could be a bit of a hit maybe he doesn’t stick around maybe Dennis Smith Jr doesn’t stick around maybe Lonnie Walker it doesn’t matter it all comes down to just bringing guys in the door and feeling like hey this player really stuck the

Other thing you mentioned about Shawn Mars and I think this is where you know he’s been through owners he’s been through coaches he’s been through nine different eras of this team but he is good at this he is good at at sucking value out of other organizations that

Seem ready to to move on from players and part of that is just because like guys we’re thin right time we’re thin somewhere else okay let’s see if we can make something out of that so I do have a bit more confidence in him in this

Area than I would let’s say the other version going after Donovan Mitchell and Pascal seak and going all in on a superstar you know kind of Laden team You’ go I’ve seen that very recently not work so well the the other piece is I was interacting with Andy kinety for the

Lakers and we were talking inside of our water coolers we do on the network weekly and he took one of my trade scenarios for the Lakers and he said hey can I can I go to Twitter with this I said of course and I said I’m gonna lean

In heavy here I want Max Christie I want Jaylen hood chafino and I want a lottery protected first round pick for Dorian finny Smith and to make the money match you throw in ton Prince Right old friend old old friend yeah old friend bring him

Back why not so he throws it out there and it get it starts to get absolutely pummeled by Lakers fans as I knew it would but the strange part of it was as Andy pointed out all of a sudden the fan base goes torian Prince he’s playing

Some great minutes this year he’s really knocking down his outside shot he’s basically the same player as Dorian fin Smith why we could we why would we give him up we can’t give him up he can’t be a part of that trade and I found myself

Saying great you don’t have to I just need to make make the money work here somewhere and it was Andy that pointed out this fan base has been dumping him all year long disgusted with toron with toan Prince doesn’t want him on the team but as soon as you start to talk about

The value of a player or another team liking him all of a sudden fans and everybody starts to put all these labels and price points and expectations on what you want to get in return the same thing happened with the OG trade with Toronto and the Knicks right it is a

Fascinating time of year when these things start to Bubble Up because then all of a sudden you say well kaminga and Moody kaminga and this guy and that guy and a couple of picks it’s it’s Royce O’Neal he’s so good after spending a lot of time saying he’s 30 years old he’s

Not going to be here next year at some point you got to get whatever value you can yeah it’s like selling your house it’s like you want to move out of your house because you don’t like it anymore but the second someone says something about your house is like what are you

Crazy this thing’s beautiful $50,000 over bed or $150,000 over expectation like it’s just the same exact thing it’s like you everyone values the thing they have more than the thing they’re getting it’s just it’s like legit human Financial nature there’s like no there’s no way around it you can you can

Extrapolate this into any part of your the rest of your life basketball trades are no different everyone wants a guy to get traded um because they hate the guy but then the second you send them out the door it’s like unfathomable to bring in something that looks like it might be

A little less even though it’s commiserate with what you thought about him two seconds ago because you want them to be out it’s like it’s the same exact parallel so I you know that trade I’m not surprised like that people would kind of dump on that one the Lakers are

Also tail spinning here a little bit and I don’t know how why they would I mean look appeasing LeBron and Company is hard is is harder than a kaminga thing right so I think you’re G to get slightly different variations on it but it ex again it opens up another example

Of it doesn’t take much sometimes this is what this is the case against like the Mitchell thing or the Pascal seak thing right it’s like just because we don’t know about it now doesn’t mean we don’t won’t know about it two weeks from now or a month from now about these

Players and the that’ss if they can’t see what the full vision is it’s why they shouldn’t go they should not go in on those other guys because we kind of know exactly what will happen with a Mitchell trade or a seum trade right that’s that’s hypothetical I we can I

Think we can just tell it’s better to me to shoot the upside or to wait for situations like this to occur to pick off the bottom from other teams when things get unhappy right I think that like that is again why we’re talking about the kaminga

Piece so I just want them to keep waiting for situations like that I think the Lakers one’s clearly like a little less realistic but um or maybe not though I don’t know like maybe but maybe not like that team’s that team’s kind of in this in the same they might be in a

Similar sort of death spiral but and and LeBron clearly wants to play with you know veterans more than more than rookie guys so I right it makes sense but yeah I think but this is why it’s gonna be this is gonna be a fascinating next month right so February 8th a trade

Deadline like this is going to be this is going to be just funny too this has nothing to do with basketball was out to lunch with my wife and we’re planning out like our next month and when we’re going to go away and stuff and I made the mistake last year of

Traveling on trade that because getting several painful text messages from Doug Nory as the trade headline approached I just blew it last year I just wasn’t thinking it had I’m classic like hashtag no idea what’s going on in my own family when it comes to calendar calendars like I just it

Just something happens that day and it’s it’s a it’s been a mystery it’s a mystery to me but this I thought ahead buddy we’re going to go away I looked ahead to when the trade deadline is because I think it’s going to be an active time for the Nets yeah and the

The last note that I’ll say on on this trade kaminga Lakers Golden State Warriors all these teams is that the Nets are in the Great position of not having pressure you know we we’ve talked a lot about what are they going to do what should they do now now we know

Right now perceptual pressure of things aren’t going right and maybe you need to make the big move to try to correct this thing I would argue the case that the Nets unlike say the lake ERS right with en aging LeBron James unlike golden state with a getting older Steph Curry

Right there are and that also have a pedigree of winning and have won championships and view themselves as a team hey we can win another one here before we push our own reset button the Nets are at least in that position of saying you do look like you may be a

Little bit desperate here in this moment let’s have that conversation now the the strong reminder here for Shawn marks and the Nets is last year offers seemingly were made for players and the Nets set such a high price tag for Dorian finy Smith that you know it was never going

To be reached and the rumors were they were setting a similar kind of standard going to the deadline this year I I think the hardest thing for the fan base and for you and I just from from an analytical standpoint is going to be if you go into and come out of this

Deadline and feel like the opportunities were there to make moves like kaming or otherwise to shed the veterans to get more draft capital and we find Brooklyn coming out maybe not going all in on a star which we would maybe disagree with but also not shedding things right the

Old steady ass she goes is going to be a tough pill to swallow but it’s going to be fascinating man the next like you said month or so is going to be I think frenetic and I won’t be surprised if every week for the next four weeks

There’s a name like this connected to Brooklyn or otherwise that comes up for teams around the league yeah this is just I I they’re going they they have to be in the mix they have to be like there’s no it’s it’s be inexcusable not it would actually be no it would be it

Would be for sure like just malpractice to not be and I think they’re going to be I think some of these guys are they have to see the right on the wall I hope and if not I I mean my god I’ve already don’t have hair that’s why I’m wearing

The hat right like I God dear Lord please no it’s cold it’s cold in this office baby I can’t I I’ve already lost enough hair I can’t lose anymore okay much appreciated everyone here that jumped into the live normally if we had this many people in the live we would

Stay on and answer questions we are just under a bit of time constraints for this one so we’re going to jump off if you’re listening on the podcast feed make sure you subscribe like And subscribe leave a review too I know that’s like become a little old for people these days it

That’s Mary Hart oh one of the all-time great Poes back again next week talking more Brooklyn Nets basketball basketball basketball basketball basketball trade basketball basketball yeah

  1. No, we have to many wings around that 6'6 – 6'8 range. We need a 6'9 to 6'10 face up PF. And Dejounte Murray would be cool as well

  2. Gentlemen, GS is a second-apron team. They can't take back that much salary. One-to-one trade for Kuminga they can only take back around 2.3m of Kuminga's 6m salary.

  3. They would want some of the Suns picks. They won’t sell low on their most young talented player.

  4. Honestly this is exactly the type of play Marks loves and exactly the type of player they should steer away from and do something different. How many inconsistent wings do we need to develop? How about scour the league for a big at the four or five that needs development and is under utilized and develop that guy. Bol Bol is an example of a young long multifaceted big that needs coaching and development. Why trade for him with the Suns who need vets.

Here is trade that makes more sense and wouldn’t require us to give up picks:

Royce and Lonnie Walker to the Suns for Nassir Little, Bol Bol and two second round picks. Little is still young at 23 years old on a reasonable contract. And Bol Bol is very talented and 24 years old.

  5. The Warriors dynasty looks to be ending and the young draft picks in Kuminga and Moody who want to have bigger roles on this team haven't gotten that trust and look ready to go to a new team to find those opportunities….

Brooklyn has some vets they are looking to turn into prospect players ready to contribute and more draft capital to make a big move in the future….

If Brooklyn acquires one or both of Kuminga and Moody they would add some solid intangibles and depth to the young squad of players they currently have….

  6. What makes you think Kuminga would want to come to the Nets who has a coach who also doesn't like playing young players.

  7. Paschal Siakim is the man!! Without giving up on Clax…. B Simmons, R O’Neal , Louis Johnson, and 1 rd draft pick!!

  8. Disgruntled with all those flaws in his game?? Why would we do that? For a disgruntled role player who doesnt rebound well and cant hit free throws?

  9. After beating okc last night and seeing what we can do as an 'almost whole' team …. I reiterate my stance that we need to support the talent we already have. My vote is for no trades.

  10. Kuminga: wants out of GS because rotations are all over the place and doesn't trust HC to play him

Nets: that is totally not going to be the case in Brooklyn. Let's go get him

  11. Also it is evident you have not scouted him very much. His splits are up across the board and his 3pt % is up as well since he was inserted I. The starting lineup

  12. Mikal Bridges was never the guy they thought he was, and he never had a history of being the guy or big-time player in H.S , College & with the Suns where he was the 4 or 5 option…I never believed in what he did in the second half of last season in 27 games. They need to rebuild with the youth & trade mikal and the older guys a lot of picks to rebuild & Tsai needs to sale the team, marks & JV need to leave NY asap. Mikal is complimentary player, not a player at 28yrs old this year to build a team around

  13. We need a full rebuild: Build around Cam T, Walker, Claxton& the other younger guys. Its time to try to trade Bridges & Cam J to rockets for Cam Whitmore, tari eason & a few 1st rd picks to recoupe back picks from the Harden trade . Then trade Dinwiddie, Royce & Finney-Smith in separate deals

  14. Kuminga has a great midrange shot and is a good freethrower who needs to work in his 3 point shot. At this point Kuminga is generally the second or third best Warrior on the team since he was put in the starting lineup.
