Saw this question on twitter. Would really love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this. I also would like to know has your opinion changed from the beginning of the season?
My personal opinion hasn’t changed from the beginning of the season. I prefer one or two other players to be more impactful due to their contracts but nonetheless my opinion about who has been more impactful hasn’t personally changed? Who do you guys believe to be the second most impactful player on the team?
Who is the second most impactful player on the Spurs?

Jeremy. I know people can’t stand him for whatever reason, but he’s our 2nd best defensive player and, post PG experience, has been pretty damn good.
Jeremy Fucking Sochan
I’d say Devin because we have a notable lack of scoring and on occasion we live or die by whether he goes off or not
This season? I’m going to go with Tre Jones. The difference between when he’s at point vs anyone else is significant. Long-term, I agree with the Sochan comments, but this season so far, it’s Tre.
Tre, without him off the floor, the impact is clearly visible.. he is our glue.. his defensive effort in the Cavs game was excellent too and his improvement in shooting post bucks game is noticeable
Tre Jones coz we haven’t lost a 3rd in 5 games since he starts. He is such a steady hand that even when he’s not touching ball whole team plays better. Fight me lol
Then Keldon/devin/vassell. All not named Wemby are replaceable for the right price/player tho
Off-topic but Matt Tynan’s (the Twitter user) [Small Market Bias](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/small-market-bias-a-san-antonio-spurs-podcast/id1691942456) is worth a listen if you like podcasts. He has yet to publish a new episode this year though.
Matt, I know you check the subreddit occasionally. Please hurry up! 😄
Keldon.
Vassell disappears some games.
When he’s having a good game, believe it or not I’d say it’s Sochan. He has the ability to lock down opposing stars when he’s keyed in, and when he’s in rhythm offensively he’s arguably our most versatile player. But I can count on one hand the number of games this season he’s actually played well. So realistically, I’d say it’s been a tie between Devin, Tre and Keldon. They all just do such different things it’s hard to say who’s actually had a bigger impact. Analytics say Tre, but Devin’s singlehandedly kept the ship afloat at times and Keldon is the only one who can reliably get to the basket if our shots aren’t falling.
devin is so overrated, jeremy and keldon are outplaying him and producing meaningful stats.
While Tre seems obvious with how his playmaking makes everything look so much smoother, I’m gonna have to say Sochan is looking like a core piece. His 3pt shot is a welcome surprise, he moves well off-ball and has some footwork down low, and his defense is second only to Wemby’s IMO.
Different players have been stepping up. One of Keldon, Devin, Sochan, or Tre could be the most impactful player besides Wemby on any given night.
