Being 3 games under 500 and trying to make a 4th quarter comeback with a lineup of DeMar, Vuc, Drummond , Caruso and LaVine is NBA hell. Something has to change man. AKME has to shake things up. Your fucking Frankenstein project isn’t working, wake tf up and fix it. You don’t have to blow it up but god damnit change it up. Acquire a different talent base! Have a different vision for gods sake.

  2. Even when you know the comeback is fake it still hurts.

Sucks to say, but this ones on Coby…7 TO’s can’t be happening. That being said, he’s young and seems to take this kinda stuff in stride. He’ll learn from it.

Credit to Billy, the game was ugly and he threw some shit at the fan to see if it would stick AND he went back to it down the stretch after it worked. Still have no faith in the Vucevic/Drummond lineup, but it did get us back into the game.

  3. Beneficial_Lemon9571

Can’t wait for AK/ME to cherry-pick some meaningless stat at the deadline to excuse their lack of action.

  4. Chitowneer

Give credit to coach Bickerstaff. He adjusted our 2-big lineup by playing small, with a bunch of sharpshooting guards. Those back-to-back 3s against Vuc killed our momentum and help them pull away.

Of course those back-to-back turnovers during that same stretch didn’t help either.

  5. jenelson79

This offense with Lavine and Derozan is just so brutal. No rhythm, no flow. One of them needs to be traded. And probably both of them. If they’re both on the team past the deadline, I will have an aneurysm.

  6. Second time this season we come back all the way down from 20 points, tie/take the lead and then immediately give up a huge run. This sucks.

  7. I-N_Clined

Welp. The freezing cold can help us not think about this game I guess.

  8. Commercial-Policy701

It’s a wrap for this team. Start making moves!!!

  9. That was one of the rougher games in a while. 3 days to rest at least before the next game so hopefully we get Pat back because we need the size for sure..

19 TOs and gave up 20 3s, ouch.

  10. It’s all good, we are better than last year doe. New Bulls Basketball. Coby the star, Lavine bought into the new style doe. New era.

  11. IHaveOneLifeToLive

Yeah you’re just not going to win a game in todays Modern NBA with such a crazy 3 pointer discrepancy between 2 teams.

  12. IMKudaimi123

Valiant comeback but it was not fun to see Coby white self destruct in the fourth. Billy should’ve put ayo back in for him.

Also the two big lineup just never achieves what it’s supposed to well enough. Stop running it.

3 point discrepancy and second chance points won’t be this bad again.

We’ve been so much better lately but still we’ve dropped like 4 games we shouldn’t have the last few weeks. Maybe Cleveland is just always our kryptonite even when they’re hurt.

We need to go on a win streak to get above .500 by the trade deadline

  13. Educational_Meet5470

Let’s stop talking about the play in tournament and the post season in general. All the focus should be on the summer. Developing players and trading away people that don’t fit in this system. Maybe we could get a center that can help us actually compete against championship teams.

  14. In the postgame interview, someone should just ask BD how his defence almost always allows 1 opposing player to be wide open. Is the players’ individual defence that bad they can’t stay in front of their man?

  15. Main-Performer-2607

Coby’s playmaking has been vastly improved but this is the worst I think I’ve ever seen from him. Bad decision after bad decision, had poor feel for the game. He’ll bounce back though, being the focus of the other team’s defensive plan night after night for the first time and performances like this are bound to happen.

  16. ItsChrisAgain12

Vuc has too many flaws at this stage of his career to be useful at a high level. I know a lot of bulls fans describe him as a connector on the offense but he takes away so much on defense and nearly everything else offensively. He should never be allowed to chuck 7 3s in a game.

  17. chitownbulls92

Vuch is over-utilized on this roster. Everything is about trying to get Vuch touches. Top of key for 3, clearing out a side for him in the low-post. Every possession Vuch gets a touch. He’s not that type of talent. We should be catering the offence to the likes of Lavine, Coby and Demar…Vuch is supplementary

  18. Meechy720

Just as I said. Lavine is now 1-10 vs Mitchell, lmao.

  19. You die.

    You wake up in purgatory.

You stare far into the vast nothingness and see a tiny orb on the horizon.

    You walk endlessly towards it.

    You gaze upon the orb.

    It whispers to you.

    You can’t hear it.

    You lean closer.

When suddenly, it says to you ..

    “The Bulls are 19-23”

  20. Mundane_Pineapple_46

I mean, at least we don’t have to live in Cleveland.

  21. ComfortableSell6046

P swill ray finkled his nuts and sat on the bench. I might start calling swill finckle

  22. Mundane_Pineapple_46

I think a huge problem is how streaky we are as shooters. There’s never really an average night. We either make everything or nothing.

  23. TheloniousMonk15

I actually enjoyed watching the Bulls much more when Lavine was out. No I am not saying he is the main problem. But it is clear that Derozan-Lavine cannot coexist and has led us to nothing but mediocrity. One of the two has to go. As another poster mentioned something needs to be shaken up with this team. The status quo with the mid 3 is leading us nowhere yet again and I’m sick of it.

  24. volantredx

This team spent too much energy to get back into it. As soon as the Cavs starters came back there was nothing left to use to defend against them. The Bulls have, in theory, a winning style, they just don’t have the players to consistently pull it off. When the shooters can’t get it going there’s not any option at that point. This team needs two or three great 3 point shooters. Not good ones, not guys who can get hot, but guys whose only job in the league is to hit threes.

The fans say the team doesn’t play modern ball, but they ironically try. They just don’t have the players to make it work. Drive and kick is the modern game. But half the guys getting the ball want to drive toward the hoop while the other half pass out of open shots because they have no confidence that they can make it. Thus the whole system breaks down and in the end our guards have to iso up because there isn’t any other option.

Rebounding is an issue, but as Stacey pointed out the big issue is that on defense the team all takes off before they even know if they got the ball. Vooch is a decent rebounder, but he can’t box out 3 guys and if the ball gets slapped out the guards should already have their man on their back and be between them and the ball to prevent it bouncing right too them.

Zach too needs to get comfortable with shooting contested 3s. He was 3 for 6 tonight. Which was good, but if he was on the Cavs he’d have tied for the fewest threes attempted from everyone not named Allen. I get that he’d likely not make a single one, but if he made 2 that would demand more defensive attention so he could pass to guys who were wide open. If you know he’s not going to take a shot with his defender on him you don’t have to fight around screens and/or double him on PnRs with the other guards. Just switch and stay in front of him to prevent the drive.

Now there were a few intangibles in this game that the team can’t account for. Not being able to buy a lay up in the first was insane and not something you can really adjust or deal with. The Cavs shooting lights out was unexpected, but it’s not like they were being defended perfectly, so having them start hot was obvious.

Not having Pat off the bench hurts but it doesn’t win the game. Pat’s better than people think but he isn’t prime MJ or anything. The real issue is that our bench scoring is basically Ayo and Javon. Two guys who are streaky as hell and not reliable in the least.

This team needs a lot of things, but a guy like Lavert who comes off the bench and can give you 20 points is priority A1.

On a side note I will say that people in these threads need to get somewhat consistent on what they want the players to do. People in the game thread were complaining that DeMar wasn’t taking enough shots. the dude was locked up tight all game. If he forced up garbage you’d complain he was selfish. So what as fans do we want when DeMar is locked up, for him to pass and hope the other players can make a play or shoot a heavily contested iso shot?

I really wish they would stop with the inside the paint dump pass, it never works. I think I counted 3 TO’s on that play in the 4th
