I’d give up a second rounder and that’s about it

Not worth it. Pacers in a great spot with young talent and cap flexibility. No need to overpay for a “star” who shoots 25% from 3 in the postseason.

If he’s determined to stay in Toronto then why are they trying to trade him? That’s always been unclear to me. Are they just trying to get younger if they can get a good deal for him?

He never really fit with our timeline anyway. Was not wanting to be paying him 50+ million in his age 33 season. If he and OG were the difference makers everyone makes them out to be how was Toronto so ass the last couple years?

Not sure if you guys know who Matt Moore is but he’s a gambling writer who essentially summarizes other sources to put a “gambling spin” on what’s going on in the NBA. Don’t think he has any real sources outside of Denver.

I don’t think there’s any breaking news here. There aren’t going to be any handshake deals under the table, but I don’t think that’ll totally scare the Pacers away. If you trade for him, you can still beat anyone else’s offer which does make him slightly more valuable than a rental.

Which is exactly why you don’t trade for him.

You don’t give up assets and potentially ruin your team chemistry for a guy who very well may up and leave. We aren’t winning a championship this year with or without him, so what’s the urgency?

If he wants to be here and we want him here, he’ll end up here this offseason. You don’t blow up it up and give up young assets just to be left at the altar in a few months.

This is reeking of the Raptors re-signing him and shopping him later. Similar thing happened with Ayton. Suns didn’t want to max him but you just don’t let a talented, valuable player leave for nothing under any circumstance.

  8. Absolutely, positively, without a doubt in my mind NO DEAL.

What some people aren’t understanding is that we’d also have to make the money work, which offloading so many guys just to make the money work would be dumb for a half season rental not to mention throwing in draft capital as well

  10. I’m so tired of the pascal siakam trade rumors.

Even if TOR loosens its grip on its demands, the open market max is 4/$184M. A S&T scenario that’ll please Siakam would call for a 5 year contract with more GTD money or a 4 year contract in the neighborhood of $200M

Haliburton could very well make all-NBA this year which means he’ll get paid $42.6M (30% of the cap) next year

Is a Haliburton/Siakam pairing worth over 60% of the cap? I’m not convinced, and it’s not because Haliburton isn’t worth it

Buddy + Toppin + Nwora + the Denver 1st. Not a penny more if he’s definitely not re-signing.

  13. Buddy, Toppin, Jalen Smith and the Denver first is fair value to me.

Welp he goin to the Dallas. Give up on him now.
