Tiring but you know it’s fun being on the road with with your teammates um but yeah it’s just a lot of travel but and the day is pretty fun what’s been some of your favorite spots so far definitely La okay La was pretty nice uh this this is probably one of the

Nicer hotels this is probably Chicago too yeah I agree probably one of the nicest hotels Chicago’s A vibe right now I am loving the Chicago and everything I do like Chicago too right so what’s it been like for you as a rookie just getting adjusted and how has it been for

You so far um it’s been it’s new but you know it’s fun it’s a new challenge um like I said uh having good teammates and and people around you makes it easy so uh just trying to do all the learning and kind of get acclimated to the game and the

Travel and uh just the scheduling and stuff like that but uh definitely having a lot of fun before we get into like just getting to know you I mean what’s it like it’s been so much fun watching you as of late and it just feels like

This game and and starting as a rookie doesn’t even phase you like where does that come from um just knowing I belong uh you know and also knowing that my coaches and teammates trust me it takes a lot of weight off of me yeah and

Uh it makes it easier for me to just play with confidence and play freely so um yeah I mean just always as a pro you always got to stay prepared and ready and uh the time came pretty early for me and right now I’m just just trying kind

Of uh keep getting better and uh you know feeling feeling like the starting roow for now and time came super early like were you even expecting any of this I honestly had no idea what was going to happen what was going on uh but yeah I

Mean that’s just kind of how it goes you got to be ready and uh adapt on the flly yeah so let’s talk a little bit about AB outside of basketball like who are you what are your favorite things to do um into fashion and shopping a little

Okay for sure um video games bowling Top Golf uh that’s pretty much it though outside of outside of boy have you been able to do any of like the top golf stuff here I mean I say here we’re in Chicago but in Orlando um I can’t remember if that was

Orlando but actually yes I did go to I did go to one Orlando I did I with my family uh my family was in time for one of the games and we all went to top go how important is family to you I I’ve heard that like you’re really big with

Your family and they’re really important so how is that for you yeah I mean uh it’s just good having a support cast like that and just my family’s people I can just talk to about anything um when I’m bored call my brothers call whoever

Uh call my mom call my family so um yeah I mean it’s just good having support like I said and just they’re my best friends so just yeah I just try to keep it in the family now I think it’s so funny to see like your background and

Just your mom playing soccer basketball like wasn’t your first sport right yeah no it wasn’t uh I really as a kid though I really played everything like baseball football soccer basketball um my first sport that I really played like select was baseball okay but I mean that that starts a lot

Younger I feel like than other sports so played that uh played soccer soccer and baseball was really heavy on early then it kind of shifted to football and basketball until my junior year in high school when I just played basketball me what position did you play in baseball

Short stop yeah yeah was it what was it about baseball that really just grabbed your attention I I honestly don’t know I was a when I was younger though the Rangers were really good so I watch a lot of baseball um yeah Rangers were good uh I don’t

Really know I guess I started playing t-ball and I just I really liked it so I was like okay I want to take a step up was your mom pretty happy when you started playing soccer yes and we we also play the same position so really

Cent her back so how was that did I mean when you had to let that go is she like no like was she hurt by that it was really it was uh it was before it was like before it was in sixth grade so she was kind of

It was still early I think had I taken it to like maybe 10th grade and then quit it would have been worse but nah she was she was cool with it now you were also recruited for football too how did that come about and when did you

Realize like oh I might actually be good at this sport too well honestly I I was pretty good at when I was younger like before middle school before like when I was really young I played in like in the tackle league but I was pretty good um

And I just kind of stopped playing for a while and uh after my freshman year I just played freshman team so I was like about to turn my stuff in and like just play basketball um and the coaches was like we think you might have a chance to

Get a a offer or go to college and play football just even just in case basketball doesn’t go how it’s supposed to go so I did that uh played my sophomore year started getting recruited after my sophomore year um um and then once I started getting recruited for

Basketball I was kind of like all right I’m done with football yeah was it hard to step away from football and strictly focus on basketball uh I mean it was really harder after the fact just watching the next year in my senior year watching all the high school

Football games yeah but at the time I was pretty comfortable with my decision so like okay I was last time we had Jaylen on the podcast and I asked Jaylen like okay you’re the quarterback he was like AB is my wide receiver so like I

Got to ask you if you could put your team together right now who would be your QB who would be your running back who would be would you be the wide receiver what would you do so like yeah tell me your team right now who’s your starting lineup uh I probably am

Actually going to keep Jaylen that quarterback okay you changed that one I am going to keep yeah I am going to keep him there uh I’ll put myself maybe apulo and need a quick third receiver maybe Cole those three that’s the receiving okay uh Kell is the running back

Okay skull is our tight end all right I like that so far I think we’re a Super Bowl team with with that skill group right there and the defense I don’t know but that’s that’s definitely our group right there where would you put Mo and fron Mo and

Fron probably I put I put Mo on defense Mo could be a defensive end SK could be a great defensive end also oo I might move Kon to tight end and move sco to defense you want to put fron as like a wide receiver FR has to be a receiver I

Was thinking about’s got be a receiver yeah he’s a receiver okay he’s a receiver I think that sounds like a pretty we have a deep receiving C we that’s a we have a good team right there that’s a solid team that sounds like you get a couple wins over there Super Bowl

Team we’ll see what happens I’m still trying to see if we can make this happen but coach mosy will probably be like that’s a hard no to get you guys on the field and see if this actually happened after the season we have to do something

Like that yes yes okay after the season we’ll do that so only right when you think about like growing up and like everything you’ve been able to do and everything that’s happened I also want to talk about your fashion and just how you’ve been able to express your fashion

Um how has that changed now that you’re in the league um just a lot more connections uh just with different people different brands um and also just more time to just really shop and explore like being on the road we have days like this where we have a lot of

Time no game so just more time and uh opportunity to just get out and expand it so uh definitely going to start having fun with it now are you learning some of that from your team or like yes 100% who are some of the guys are like

Okay you guys you guys are like swagging out I like the the drip as they call it Gary k p sko key Co it’s like your whole team the whole team the whole team everyone’s a big like in Fashion on your whole team yeah so then also tell me

About like the blonde streak in your hair is that like part of showing like your creativity and who you are or like how did that even come about it was really honestly I was in high school um just I was getting really bored in my

Hair I’m like I might cut it I might braid it uh but I just added the blonde and ever since I mean it’s pretty hard to just take it take all the blond out so ever since then just are you going to continue to keep it or is it like I’ll

Keep it so you’ll do it again we talked a little bit about this there was a baby at the game did you see that I did see it how cool is it to know that like you’re a rookie but there’s already people who are kind of like creating the

Really yeah but you know I I didn’t even think of it of that I just did it just like just to do it how has it been so far for you you said you getting tagged and like you know with the pictures and just the love and appreciation you’re

Getting from the magic Community what’s that been like for you so far um it’s great you know uh a lot of the fans show that you know they trust in us they’re they’re happy to watch us uh they’re riding with us like through good and bad you know

There’s always those good fans and bad fans but you know pretty much all of our fans are are sticking with us through wins and losses so yeah it’s definitely pretty cool uh getting that and just getting the support also you know being the new guy the rookie um it’s been

Pretty cool just uh just having those fans is at our back it just makes it a lot easier to have fun and play do you think that you are still learning how to balance like a personal life and you know a public life right now or is it

Still something you’re still trying to figure out um I think it’s always something everybody can get better at really um you know it’s just it’s a little different now uh it’s a little bit bigger of a stage so yeah got to be careful what you’re doing and how you’re

Moving for sure but uh other than that I’ll say pretty balanced I feel like talking with some of the guys that’re like you know the NBA is a business but this team somehow brings out that Brotherhood instead of getting that idea of a business do you do you just see

These guys as like your brother instead of just kind of like your teammates in a way 100% um you know I think it just consist of like the the type of people we have on our team we don’t have any just bad people or losers selfish people like we don’t

Never have the people seeing us like we’re hitting or somebody’s hitting a big shot and then there’s one person not happy for him or you know we we’re kind of all just happy for each other uh we all root for each other and we have each

Other’s back also which is good after a game who’s like the first person you call or hit up or like what do you do after a game to like just decompress and and go through the motions of it um my mom usually text me and my brother

My brother text me like my brother text me all the time after the game is he like your like your twin in a way pry much he does everything you do yeah he uh yeah pretty much that’s awesome well thank you AB for joining me on today’s
