  1. He also said that the offer that he received from the Pacers was relatively consistent value-wise from the offers he was receiving over the season and the summer

I love when Masai burns the comment section nephews

This is the cost of not moving earlier. Have a plan and make decisions BEFORE you’re forced to.

Once they decided to build around Scottie (during or after his rookie year) it was time to start the rebuild. Instead you trade for Thad, held onto players you couldn’t afford to pay as UFAs, and traded a lightly protected pick for Poeltl.

Don’t blame the media and fans when you were asleep at the wheel.

GUYS… MASAI IS A BETTER GENERAL MANAGER THEN 14 YEAR OLD REDDITORS🤯🤯🤯🤯

  5. In the last 2 seasons the best deal they were offered were 2 late firsts and bruce bown? fuck outta here

  6. Me when i take everything a team executive tells me at face value

All I know is this guy brought us Kawhi..which brought us a ring.

So imma let him do his work

The issue isn’t what offers he had then and what he got in the end, it’s how the team ended up here.

Don’t tell the people here that just because it works in a trade generator, doesn’t mean it’s realistic

It’s almost as if fans should trust the well paid executives to do their due diligence instead of obsessing over the ESPN trade machine and acting as if they know how trade negotiations actually work.

It’s been pretty embarassing seeing the literal ten posts per day constantly repeating the same trade packages and being critical of the front office based on rumours of what the offers were. Not to mention the amount of narratives that people were pulling out of their asses. I’m glad this saga is over so that nonsense doesn’t flood the sub anymore.

So wait the number of sources that wojinoarksi and sham wow report on are not true?! Shocking

Raptors had no leverage, yes pascal is worth more but ahen he can leave for nothing especially to one of the suitors its hard to get proper value for him

  14. What an idiotic thing to say

    This is teenage level logic

Lets be honest guys. Trusting in Masai always works out. He is literally the Raptors Messiah. Look what he did:

    – got us the Coach of the year Nick Nurse who proceeded to win us a chip

    – Traded for Kawhi which brought us a championship. At the time the Masai haters were like we getting an injured player but things worked out perfectly and we got a ring

    – Got Gasol which was one of the finishing moves for us to get the championships which is a dub.

    – Got us the ring, no other raptors GM gave us the feat yet he does. Yet, we still have those who doubt his power. So I’ll give you more takes that justify his reign and amazing work.

    – Got us the ROY Scottie Barnes when at the time the haters of Masai called him stupid for not going with the other guy (even forgot his name), the guy who everyone was calling for the pick who had a couple of videos throwing half court shots and such a big hyped up dude. Yet, I even forgot his name and our rookie the one Masai chose became the ROY.

    – Converted our GROAT Kyle Lowry who was going to leave anyways into Precious who we later traded but since he was going to leave anyways.

    – converted Norm into young and full of potential GTJ

    – converted OG into RJ and IQ who are amazing assets for us.

    – got us a nice coach who in turn got us Dennis Schroader

Ofc Masai isnt perfect, some deals didnt turn out good like Poetl who is not playing like we thought he would, or Thad Young who was overpriced to pay, or we lost good bench pieces who were barely played and excelled somewhere else, we failed to trade FVV at the perfect time, we failed the transition from our cetners of Gasol and Ibaka like we are now struggling a center. And the trade for Pascal which seems like a low price for him ngl.

Overall, these failiures are small dots in our record. Especially considering how Kawhi left afterwards and then losing each vital piece like dominos, I am proud of the accomplishments that Masai has brought us. This franchise has never won a chip and Masai brought us that. In addition if we look at the team today, we have a future MVP Scottie Barnes. This team has amazing assets like IQ, RJ, Dennis Schroader, GTJ, and to name more. In fact, Masai has helped this team prepare for a very good future and going from building a nice core, then fading that core is very hard. I’m so happy as a fan of this team because I can watch this team have fun with no expectations now. For all u haters of Masai, F off because we are so lucky to have this man. Trust in Massai!

He would have gotten better package if he traded siakam earlier. But that’s not the point. The biggest point is he was delusional to believe that all these years we would achieve anything meaningful with siakam as our “superstar”. 3+ years wasted

  17. So nothing was the best deal he could’ve gotten for FVV?

  18. my fav part of the reaction post trade is how so many of the “Wait the raps DIDN’T trade OG for 3 first round picks?!?! who cares if they’re in the 20s, thats a great return!”

are now like “3 first round picks in the 20s are basically worthless” and criticizing him for taking picks not players lol
