I know Tobi’s been on the chopping block for most of the fanbase for a while, but he’s really found a groove the last few games. I think Nurse is finally starting to figure things out a bit more with this group.
Tobi taking over while Embiid was out was a big part of that W last night.

“big game chops” Just look at his second round playoffs stats please. We see it every year, I don’t understand how we forget that he’s not a big game player.

i’m sorry. I can’t trust Harris anymore to be our third score in a playoff series. I don’t fear the Bucks at all. Middleton is washed on defense so he can thrive in this series. But against Celtics will be hard for him to use Embid and Maxey gravity. I really want another scorer guard (since Melton can make a lay up or a mid range shot).

I’ll give him props. Kept us in the game in the 4th when Embiid was on the bench. Hope he keeps it up, not gonna hold my breath but he’s earned some respect for his performance lately.

IMO Tobias has broken a lot of hearts, but as others have said Nurse has been coaching this team up. While Embiid was out, Tobi took some of Embiid’s role a top of the nail and looked for cutting teammates easy bucket or generated his own shot. If continues to be coached well then will be incredibly difficult for opponents to prep for every sixer at the nail, but I imagine that Nurse is holding some secret looks to unveil when playoffs

We are on year 5 of him “figuring it out” before the trade deadline and then disappearing in playoff elimination games. I cannot take another single-digit point game from Tobi in an elimination game. I just can’t.

He was great last night. I doubt we can swing a trade for him that is enough of an upgrade to be worth the cost and I expect Tobi to still be on the team after the deadline.
All that being said, if Morey can find an upgrade, we should jump on it. It’s been years of this. Tobi has great games and then he disappears for months. It’s unlikely he suddenly figured it out. He was in a terrible streak up until like 4 games ago.
