“The Warriors attempted to trade Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for Chris Paul in 2011. It was far from the only time Curry was shopped, but in this instance, the deal was very close to completion. Myers made the offer and Hornets GM Dell Demps was receptive. The catch was Chris Paul, who wanted out of New Orleans but had no intention of playing for the woebegone Warriors. Paul told the Warriors they could do this trade, but he wouldn’t be staying when his contract was up at season’s end.

Oh how the turn tables
Chris Paul is cursed.
Thank you, Chris Paul?
Would have been such a bad trade
Another *very close* trade that didn’t go through: In 2014 Bob Myers was going to trade Klay Thompson for Kevin Love ([source](https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nba/how-a-vetoed-trade-irrevocably-changed-the-warriors-and-cavs)). However, they ultimately passed on the trade after Jerry West requested to veto it.
I’d like to see an article like this in 12 years about Kuminga.
Oh, interesting. Now I’m curious about the other times Steph was shopped.
CP3 made the dynasty! We love you CP3..
so this rumored curry/thompson for paul trade was before the warriors decided to trade ellis for bogut then … would the ellis trade which was made in march 2012 still would’ve happened
starting 5 would’ve been :
paul
ellis
wright
lee
biedrins
that starting 5 even if paul agreed to stay long term was headed to nowheresville
Myers is and was overrated .
