Good trade. I’ve been thinking of ways to get a first to take Fournier’s salary, and Tyus and ShamGod is the perfect fit for what New York needs. Especially if they want to make a deep playoff push with OG. I’d almost want their 2025 pick instead, with any other pick giving us back our own pick as well (basically 2 seconds we get to keep/trade up). Tyus getting us a low 20s/late 10s first via Dallas + 2 seconds for Shamet and taking Fournier would be nice.

I would want a bit more. Tyus is apparently valued(by us) at a first rounder by himself, adding Shamet and a Fournier cap dump should be worth a bit more.

That Dallas pick only conveys picks 11 through 30 in 2024, and it’s a bad draft class. Not good.
I’m not sure what the Knicks really need at this point besides getting Mitchell Robinson back. I don’t think they need guards. They have Grimes, Hart, DiVincenzo, even Miles McBride is giving them good minutes. They probably want a backup forward/wing, not Tyus Jones and Landry Shamet.

Gonna bet the Wizards are valuing picks in 2025 and beyond over a 2024 pick in a weak draft. And certainly not one that’s gonna land outside the lottery in 2024.

That’s fair value and I’d take it

I’m open to it. People are delusional about Shamet’s value if they think this is much more than the OK first we are looking for in return for Tyus.

Why would they want that pick? Garbage pick.

Absolutely no, to be honest, Tyus is our most valuable player in the trade market. Shamet is a shooter for early playoff teams. If we cannot get at least one first one second round pick, I would say no. Especially it’s 2024 First round, and via Dallas, I really doubt about it For Knicks, they don’t like players who cannot offer strong defense. And for them, they didn’t give anything and then got two above average players, nah, I won’t make it

You’d need to give up the 1st solely to get off Fournier. Not for that and Tyus Jones
