Zach LaVine as Klay Thompson’s replacement at the deadline? NBA insider makes the case

I’m not against it. Klay is gone after this year and if Wiggins is part of the trade they aren’t adding money for next year. It’s a fair explanation for why.

Idk what the conversations have been about the extension, but if Klay is adamant about getting a max or close to it, I would rather trade him and get something back. If we can move off of wiggs and get some picks, great, but lavine isn’t going to fix anything and his contract isnt amazing either… idk, we’re in a tough spot.

While having Zach wouldn’t necessarily hurt the warriors, I’d rather us spend assets on attempting to get a stretch forward or maybe a big man, someone that can help with defense, but I could also be an idiot idk

Lavine is the worst contract in the NBA and we are so far over the luxury. It won’t even be a thought. Carrying both Wiggins and Lavines contracts, no way that’s happening

  4. I’ve BEEN saying this.

Klay and Podz for Lavine is an easy trade.

Chicago gets an expiring contract in Klay, and they get an absolute baller of a rookie in Podz.

Warriors get off that terrible Klay contract and return to having best shooting backcourt in the league with Steph and Lavine.

Then I’m calling Brooklyn about Nic Claxton and Royce O’Neal for Wiggins, Looney, and picks.

This is a terrible idea. These is a reason there is absolutely no market for this guy.
