I think Wemby is playing better than Chet right now, but god they have such a hard time understanding this. Willfully obtuse.

Wemby is going to win, ppl say Chet can’t win because he’s not a rookie and they use sga being so good and us having a good team to the reason he looks so good it’s annoying asf. I rather Chet make a deep playoff run and have a couple big games then him win rookie of the year at this point

Let’s stop this argument guys, both fanbases should honestly just be happy we have 2 absolute ballers. There really is no need for this forced rivalry

Wemby played starting minutes for like 1 year in France, and was coming off the bench until 2022-2023, and “having shootarounds” with Chip Engelland is basically the best practice you can get in the history of basketball. Also, Chet is ~2 years (20 months) older than Wemby.

Who gives a shit? Both are great players. Wemby is an all time freak talent and our rookie is putting up a good fight for the ROTY vs him.

to be honest, im ok with wemby winning if it ultimately means that chet has a major chip on his shoulder and balls out bc he wasnt picked

They both have earned it already and both deserve it. It’s just an insane year to have two rookies this talented and impactful at the same time. Whoever wins will deserve it and the other deserved it as well. You gotta pick one, though. Wemby is gonna have the edge in that because of a half dozen factors that the players themselves have no control over. It’s gonna be a great rivalry so let’s watch it on the court, not the discourse on socials and beat reports.

As a total pro Wemby, it’s actually super hard to compare them. Their roles, teams, and history are nothing alike. They’re both great players and maybe that’s one year we could do co Roty seeing as they both out perform many former Roty. PS : I do feel deep down that Chet has it easier but I do get the argument that filling a specific role in a functioning team is never easy.

Chet was still around his coaches and team mates the whole time, still in team meetings and sessions. Just being in an NBA organization is substantially more advantageous.. but literally who cares? Both dudes are looking great
