Suggs was also a year older than Scoot as a rookie. Like Scoot, Suggs also had a big problem with turnovers and fouls (the fouls remained for Suggs, but he’s an aggressive defender).
In other words, give Scoot a couple more seasons to develop.

As I will keep saying: Scoot has plenty of time (2.5 seasons) to prove it. There has been both guards who have poor first years and then improve (Jaden Ivey is very similar to Scoot and has been playing way better lately) and guards who have great first years and then fall off (Michael Carter Williams).
I’m all about giving Scoot time. I just hope fans understand that the Blazers aren’t going to move Ant until they know what they have in Scoot and Shaedon.
I have no problem waiting for him to improve but I’m not gonna stop being vocal about how he looks awful until he shows me more shit to get really excited about.
The media cycle just loves labeling players as a bust. It gets views and as soon as one person makes it a story it spreads cause it’s cheap content. Guarantee people who label scoot a bust haven’t watched a full blazer game most of them are just neck beard YouTubers trying to make a 10 minute video about nothing.
Anyone who ever said Suggs was a bust is ridiculous. I watched Suggs ball out at Gonzaga and nearly win them a title. Give dudes time to develop.
Biggest thing is that suggs had tons of support and wasn’t expected to be the #1 guy. And Orlando is fantastic at player development.
The situation for Portland is not the same.
