You know it’s easy to say that Detroit uh Pistons but they they got a lot of talent they’re well coached and they played a really good game they made some really tough shots um you know we could have closed out a little bit uh better to some of their Shooters but give them

Credit they played a great game but I thought um we you know the most important thing get to win obviously but I thought we showed really good character Great Character uh there were times things didn’t go our way uh we stuck together and uh pulled out the win

And um that’s the most important thing you know right now so um any win especially a road win in in this league is is is awesome um why do you think their second unit in particular were just able to be as effective as they were as a group

Well one the they’re really talented uh in their second unit Burks uh they put mcalla uh ginari I mean all these guys are are proven veterans in this league so I know that their record is not indicative of of um their talent like they really they got some good players

Over there um and you know we were kind of forced to um you know they took us out some of our coverages because they have you know Shooters out there one you know they had a lot of Shooters out there um that we had to account for

And you know you got to guard the three-point line and I did I thought in stretches we didn’t do a good job of guarding the three-point line like closing out with more urgency and then the times we did they they made some tough shots and bogdanovich hit one off

The glass Burke one in his face you know we so you know it was it was combination they played extremely well um but I thought you know we we played I thought our starters in particular man we were really defending I thought D defended Chris defended uh Giannis uh Brooke uh

Bees I thought it was a good carryover from uh the last couple days and and now for us it just uh you know Finding consistency and you know just it was certain this game was more to me about the you know the lineups and the matchups you know and I thought when

They went small with a range shooting fours and fives has kind of put us in a bind you mentioned being happy with the starters defense you give a 38 points in the first quarter does that mean it was kind of once the bench guys started to

Come in that you started to see the problems defensively or what did you see defens no I’m just saying totality I thought our our starters tried to compete um you know there were we got some stops in the fourth quarter um you know obviously they don’t play the whole

Game they didn’t play the whole quarter um but I I felt like we were um really mindful of the game plan I hear them talking um we were communicating and and the effort was there you know especially in the fourth quarter we we made some uh

Big time uh def defensive stops uh but you know we got there was a period where you know they were making shots and and we got to get back in transition but um give them credit they played they played a tough game but I thought for the most

Part um our starters really uh competed and and all our guys competed but we have to play a little bit smarter especially uh against their second unit when when they were getting some open threes there and just closing out with more urgency no it’s okay last month

Obviously we played the Knicks uh twice in one weekend now doing the same thing here in Detroit what type of adjustments are you looking for from your team if you can remember any that you made maybe against the ni in oh you know like like

Always you look at the film and try to find ways to get better and um you know there are some things we did really well I thought and there’s some things that we uh have to obviously improve um and that that’s taking care of the three-point line like will they shoot

Like this uh next game I don’t know but we have to make sure that we don’t give them confidence you know we got to close out to the shooters we got to um you know press up to certain guys and make them them balance it inside the line but

I thought o overall we had some good carryover um there’s always good things you can carry over from this game and I thought we had a couple good practices and film and and then we find ways to get better for next game what a [Applause] team
