Kevin Durant Makes Controversial Statement About Joining Warriors

Kevin Durant has one of the most interesting careers in NBA history. He’s one of the greatest NBA players ever, but he’s yet to receive the respect he feels like he deserves. In Durant’s own eyes, he should be in the GOAT conversation.

During an interview with Duane Rankin of Arizona Republic, Durant gave a controversial statement about why he believes he’s not included in the GOAT conversation – it has to do with his Warriors tenure.

“Because I went to the Warriors,” Durant said in an exclusive interview with The Republic. “Why shouldn’t I be in that? That’s the question you should ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?”

Should have stayed and racked up the jewelry for a few years then none could say a thing.

He is right. He left and hasn’t won a thing. That proves a lot.

  3. “What haven’t I done?”

You haven’t won enough, KD. This ain’t hard.

One of the best, but not close to being the best. The conversation has been MJ vs Lebron for 20 years for a reason.

Won before KD and won after KD. Love him still, but he isn’t the reason for the dynasty.

One of those times were the fan-fiction author in me has him somehow come back to the Warriors this year or next, win a championship, and he can show the world he is the difference maker he wants to be known as.

Lol you haven’t even been a bus driver ONCE bruh.

Barkley talks a lotta shit but he’s speaking the truth.

When he left here to go to the Nets, he wanted to “go build something and do it on his own”. Instead he tried to make a super team, it fell apart, and he bailed. That’s why he’s not in the GOAT conversation.

I love KD and I wish he stayed with the Warriors, and I’m still a fan of his regardless of what team he’s on.

  9. didn’t help durant case for GOAT of this era when he got swept by the celtics in the 2022 playoffs in the 1st round while curry almost single handily beat the celtics in the NBA finals with probably the weakest roster in comparison to any warriors team who made the NBA finals the previous 5 times and won finals MVP

also statistically curry outplayed durant in those two series that postseason vs the celtics

durant – 26.3 pts 5.8 reb 6.3 ast on 30/33/90 shooting splits in 4 games

curry – 31.2 pts 6.0 rbe 5.0 ast on 48/44/86 shooting splits in 6 games

i also think if durant stayed with the nets and eventually won an NBA title there … he’d get a lot more respect than what he ultimately did which was demanding to get traded from that nets franchise that you specifically chose to build your own “super team” but that attempt failed after only a couple of season … so durant chose the suns to build another super team with and so far the results aren’t looking good for him in the desert

  10. Nothing controversial about this. He just doesn’t understand it.

Even if KD won his 2 chips in OKC he still wouldn’t be in the conversation.

outwardly wanting recognition is the best way to not get it when you’re over 4 years old….who’s gonna tell him?
