[Burke] Steve Kerr said what he told Milojević’s 2 kids will remain private, but he said he lost his dad when he was 18 and knew exactly what they were feeling. “It’s kind of crazy but Friday was the 40th anniversary of my dad’s death,” Kerr said. It was clear how fresh the emotion was.

  1. The worst and most heartbreaking of ways to be able to relate to another, and one you’d never hope or wish for upon anyone, but what a source of solace and comfort, however small, to Deki’s children to have in someone like Steve, who seems to be one of the most compassionate (and articulate in that compassion, most importantly for times like this), kind, and inviting people there is, knowing what they’re going through.

And for Deki’s passing to come so close to the anniversary of his dad’s death, my goodness, what a heavy, heavy week.

  2. Kerr is an all time great person. Glad the Warriors family has him to lean on.
