To the Celtics at the trade deadline or after the season lots of buyout trade stuff it a lot of names being thrown around I’m not sure that the Celtics are going to do much but they are in a position to do something right so I don’t know it’s I don’t think it’s going

To be that big so let’s get some of the rules out here with the buyouts and the trades you got to remember certain things I’m giving you I’m giving you the rules so you can kind of almost answer your own questions Gordon Hayward on a buyou no cannot be done Boston Celtics

Are over the second apron they cannot sign anybody that makes more than the mid-level exception before they got cut so a guy like Gordon Hayward who makes like 30 plus Mill whatever he makes uh it makes more than the mid-level which is 12.4 million when you when you’re

Thinking about can we get this guy if he’s bought out look up his salary is it more than 12.4 million then no the Boston Celtics cannot get that guy on a buyout if it’s less than then yes the Celtics are able if that player wants to

Come in and uh sign for the minimum right so that that’s possible Gordon Hayward no uh a couple of other guys that names are thrown out there that make more than 12.4 million no that’s the answer no uh when it comes to Bruce Brown he makes 20 plus million dollars

So it’s hard for Boston to trade for him you you’ve got to match Sal and Boston has to match him pretty closely you’re not going to get him at the trade deadline because you don’t have enough salary to go get him the only way to get him is to include one of

The rotation guys you’re not going to give up Al Horford you’re not going to give up uh any of the starters you’re certainly not going to go do that for Bruce Brown so during the season no Bruce Brown is not an option after the season hey maybe because it’s possible

Maybe sort of possibly that the Celtics will have to move one of their big salaries that’s a next summer issue I don’t want to get into it too much right now because they still are chasing a championship here and I don’t want to go too deep into it but to answer this

Particular question it’s possible that he gets moved Bruce Brown he could come to Boston if one of Boston’s other big salaries ends up getting moved over the summer we’ll see it’s going to be an interesting summer I don’t want to I don’t want to ruin the chase for a title

By getting into that so those are the rules Boston the another important rule if you’re doing fake trades you cannot send four guys out you can’t stack OA brassette uh Luke cornette Lamar Stevens sh maky look you know you can’t you can’t take four or five guys stack them up and send them

Out for one guy because the other team has to have the roster spots to accept that player to all those players so if you do four for one five for one you say it works in the trade machine the other team has to have five open roster spots

They can’t just take them and wave them they have to have the roster spots to accept those players have all those roster spots filled and then they wave them that’s how it works so you can’t do four and five for one deals right now that’s not possible

So it’s very limiting the Celtics are over the second apron right so they can’t they can’t do the buyout stuff they aren’t going to bring somebody in on like a flyer they’re not in a position to take uh whatever so it that’s that’s what that’s the limitations of the Boston Celtics face

Got it I’m sure there’ll be many more questions but I hope what I hope with that answer is is that if you have a lot of these things Brewing around your head or they come across the internet or on Twitter or wherever now you have these

Parameters so you can plug a bunch of different players in there but you know the rules now so keep that those rules in mind and this way you’ll know you can start telling people the same thing I just told you let’s get to Ed who says here’s a question about uh coaching

Helping Tatum and brown take a claim to being the best duo in the NBA is it possible after joic and Murray beat the that Joe moula Sam canel took the Jays aside and said that’s what stard Duos do and that they applied that to the win

Over the Mavs could they be a theme happening here and so it’s maybe I I don’t know what they said what what was said to those guys and I don’t know if they took it to heart I don’t know if those guys just on their own said there’s a Duo that’s doing it

Let’s let’s us do it or it’s just circumstance I don’t think a single game is going to make that much of a difference I don’t think they’re going to look at each other and be like oh Epiphany like Harps and sunbeams coming down out of the clouds I don’t think

That’s happening at all I I think first of all joic and Murray work because it’s a center guard Dynamic right they’re two very different players it’s not easy to switch between those players right if you’re guarding yic and you SW switch on to Murray you can get cooked if you’re if Murray’s guy

Switches to yic you’re definitely getting cooked joic is a big man who loves to pass and is one of the best passers we have ever seen regardless of position nevertheless best big man passer he is an incredible playmaker one of the best ever so that’s what makes this work it’s

Difficult to just say hey look at yic and Murray hey you guys just kind of do that stuff because the Celtics had these guys are are too ISO Wings tall ISO big strong wings that play more like they play better on their own than they do off of other people and

They’re they’re learning to get better at that and we’re seeing the best out of Jaylen Brown and I do think they need to start playing together better right they need to play off of each other better but we can’t just say hey play like the Warriors play like the Nuggets these

Aren’t it’s not Steph Curry and Klay Thompson it’s not joic and Murray that’s not who these guys are they’re Tatum and they’re brown and I think one thing that we you me I definitely do have to get into our heads is they Tatum and brown are not those other Duos they have to

Play differently they can play better together I still think there are pick and roll type of things that they can do even though the the the switchability between those two uh their two Defenders is is there and it’s difficult uh but there’s more that those two those two

Can do to play off of each other I think schematically this is the challenge for Joe Missoula and the coaching staff to figure out how to get these guys playing off of each other to create the mismatches but it’s with porzingis on the team with Dereck white on the team

There are other places you can go to get a two-man game that works with those guys I think the best way to maybe say like the how the guys work together is either one of them can run a pick and roll with porzingis either one of them

Can play off of Derek white and set a pick for Derek white or Drew holiday for that matter like that’s that’s where they’re interchangeable you can run the same play with different looks but kind of similar actions so we have to we have to adjust our expectations as much as

Concept it’s the champion comes into the the season with the belt the Denver Nuggets came into the season with the belt and every night you defend it like a boxing match or a wrestling match or MMA a UFC fight whatever you lose the next team wins the

Belt so that’s just you track it throughout the rest regular season I’m tracking it on my Twitter last day of the regular season whoever wins that last game gets the belt that’s it you are the final last man standing NBA champ for the 2324 season the playoffs begin that starts

The tournament uh what is it King of the Ring or whatever you want to call it there that’s the tournament that crowns the NBA champion and that NBA champion gets the next NBA belt so that’s it um so that’s yeah so if the Celtics I

Don’t care who has the belt at the end if it’s the Hornets whatever if the Celtics win the championship they now have the belt they come into next season with the belt and we track a whole new thing it’s a regular season thing which I love doing
