[All The Smoke] KG picks Chet over Victor for ROTY, while giving the Spur his flowers: “When you come in and start doing shit that none of us or the whole fraternity ain’t seen, that’s when you start putting your print on the league.” The Truth thinks it’s Wemby’s to lose.

How the fuck can KG say this and still pick Chet? It doesn’t make any goddamn sense.

  2. Wtf is KG even saying. He picks Chet because his team is winning, but then in returns says Vic is doing things the league has never seen before from a rookie and the only reason for watching the Spurs.

Also not shown in the clip, he goes on a tangent about how Vic isn’t really a rookie either because he played pro ball in France. Like bruh cmon now. Certified CTE basketball take.

Also also, lol at Pierce calling Jacquez “Vasquez” at the beginning.

the need to act differently and have an outlier opinion just to sound cool shows how dumb people can be

Yeah that makes sense. Vic is clear ROY. Vic is our SGA. OKC is so deep and good imo I think they’d still be a 50+ win team without Chet

The Vegas odds after last night’s game say it all. Wemby is the CLEAR frontrunner for ROY.

We’ve got to remember that spewing hot takes and stirring up controversy is how all these player-turned-podcasters drum up clicks and stay relevant.

Chet has a potentially championship caliber team around him and is doing less than wemby in every metric, makes no sense. Imagine how the spurs look without wemby, abyssmal. The thunder without Chet are still solid and a playoff team 100%

Whenever I see this take my first question. I want to ask these people is, what do they think the records would be if we did a straight up trade between the two teams. Oklahoma City gets Kevin and Johnson and we get Williams and SGA.

Everything else stays exactly the same

Do they really think the thunder would still have a much much better record? Do they think Victor’s statistical advantages would just disappear?

Because I think anyone paying even a tiny bit of tension knows the answers to these questions and they don’t favor Chet’s rookie of the year argument at all

He’s a absolute stud. And a perfect fit with that thunder team

But people are penalizing Vic extremely unfairly with this narrative

Guys we have to be prepared for our boy to lose ROTY. while I disagree with this on principle, let’s think about the positives – pissed off wemby going into his second year with (hopefully) a new lead guard playing with him…that could be exciting.

  9. Man, I really like KG, but takes like this highlight why he’s in the Afghanistan of NBA media

the game today says it all. Spurs might have lost to the Thunder, but Wemby clearly owns Chet. Wemby was hunting Chet on offense. Chet scored on Wemby only when he was drawn away from him to be a help defender. Chet cant even look at Wemby in the eye lol.

We gotta cue the clip of KG trying to dunk the ball with two hands and TD straight up blocked it so clean out of his hands.
