as much as i’d love a young wing to come here i’m not sure anyone who is available is better than Hield and we’re almost certainly not giving up Walker unless it’s a real core piece for now and the future.
moving Hield/Toppin makes some sense for sure but maybe we re-sign both guys with their birds rights this summer on team friendly deals if they don’t get better offers and with the new CBA rules kicking it it might be a tough market. Maybe Philly throws money at Hield, or Orlando. it’s possible. but i feel like making a deal for the sake of it is bad business when these guys are humans and emotions/behind the scenes is involved and by all accounts both players seem well liked here

No. Walker is barely out of his teens and Caruso is already receding like a tsunami is about to hit. Respect to Caruso and his defense but Walker has potential and could play in the league for almost another 15 years. His defense shows promise so I’d rather have a good rookie who isn’t even in their prime yet.
Also in what world would we trade Hali, Ben, and unprotected 1sts for DeRozan? He’s 34… Hali is 23 and will be a 2x all star with plenty of potential with better stats than DeRozan.

I usually hate posts trashing fake trades, but this really is a comical misunderstanding of value. An UNPROTECTED pick and a promising young player for a really good role player to a team who wouldn’t be contenders this year? That’s a pretty wild misjudgment if values I think.
